Launched in 1985, Options for the Control of Influenza
has grown into the largest international conference devoted exclusively
to influenza, covering every imaginable topic from basic science to
health care policy.
Whatever your domain of expertise – science, human medicine, animal
medicine, public health policy, industry or media – Options
for the Control of Influenza VII will provide
comprehensive scientific guidance for all disciplines involved in
influenza prevention, control and treatment, including seasonal and
pandemic planning. On behalf of the conference chairs, Professor Malik Peiris, Dept of

the Options for the Control of Influenza VII conference
The Options conference series is held approximately every
three years and is the largest meeting that brings together scientists
working on all aspects of influenza, from basic science to healthcare
policy.
Options for the Control of Influenza will celebrate its
25-year anniversary since its inception and first meeting in Keystone,
Colorado in 1985. The influenza situation today is far more complex and
demanding with the advent of the first pandemic declared in 25 years. Options
has a history of strong scientific content and the 2010 meeting will
continue this tradition of answering the call for the latest scientific
information on ALL aspects of influenza. Plan to attend all four days
and experience the spectacular scientific and cultural program. This
year`s schedule will begin on Friday 3 September at 0900.00 with an
exciting opening ceremony celebrating 25 years of the Options for the
Control of Influenza conference series.
Due to the recent declaration of the influenza pandemic and the space
constraints at the HKECE, the 2010 meeting will be limited to no more
than 1200 attendees, so we urge you to please register early.
The goal of Options VII is to showcase recent advances in
the basic science and control and prevention of influenza. At the same
time, we invite all of the attendees to experience the heritage and
cultural diversity of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a unique fusion of Eastern
and Western cultures where the old and the new live side by side. Hong
Kong combines gourmet culinary delights, renowned cultural activities, a
shopper’s paradise, and the latest technological advances.
We invite you to come early and stay over after the meeting to take in
the many wonders of the city. We look forward to seeing you in Hong
Kong!

Connecting the Critical Links in Service Member and Family Care
Those within the healthcare community, from medics and surgeons to therapists and records managers, have told us that they want and need an opportunity to share and exchange ideas. In addition to the sharing and exchanging of ideas, field professionals want to gain insight on best practices from their peers in an environment that facilitates open dialogue. IDGA’s, “Battlefield Healthcare” conferences have successfully provided these opportunities in the regional conference format; however, the scope and pace of operations has created the need for a new, large-scale, national forum aimed at bringing together a critical mass of practitioners to share and benchmark important developments.
With these rapid changes occurring in almost every discipline, and at almost every level of care, the individual practitioner has not been able to keep pace with the comprehensive spectrum of care. Caregivers have told us that they desire a more current picture of the overall processes that are occurring several steps before and after their care is given. Military Healthcare Convention and Conference’s sole purpose is to provide field professionals with the resources and the insight required to be a leading member of the medical community.
