Just as networks are the backbone of modern communication, the operations support system, including billing and customer care functions, are the backbone of the communication service provider. A billing system along with a customer relationship management (CRM) solution provides telecom operators with a user-friendly interface for creating accounts, services, products and packages. Besides, the account information, product/service details, payment, adjustments, call rating details and invoices are all stored in the billing system, and making it accessible online can provide instant information to customers.
Churn management is another factor that has a huge bearing on an operator`s business. A billing solution is directly linked with overall customer satisfaction. The information captured by the billing system provides statistics on abnormal usage. This information is in turn used by the operator to effectively reduce churn.
Billing & Customer Care India 2010 is trying to deal with two major subjects which service providers today are laying extra emphasis on. One is a revenue generator and the other helps collect the revenue generated by improving the customer experience and helping the service provider make additional revenue by giving the subscriber a virtual home experience.
The conference will highlight the trends in next-generation billing and Customer Care. It will help to identify the major challenges facing monetization of content and help elucidate how the global trends are affecting billing processes. It will also provide insights into how billing must change as various networks are integrated, regulatory rules change and companies reinvent themselves. It will also offer the prime opportunity to learn Customer Care Standards & Strategies. The challenge for all operators in today`s market is to capture and retain inbound traffic, ensure quality and reduce costs of outbound traffic, and maximize benefits of Customer Care services. How to deliver great customer service through best practices in Collecting, Analysing, and Tracking Customer Feedback & Latest Customer Care Service Technologies.

The continued improvements in our ability to synthesize and fabricate nanostructures over the past decades have fueled tremendous growth in the area of nanoscience and nanoengineering. A variety of well developed ‘top-down’ and ‘bottom-up/self-assembly’ techniques are now available to the researcher to create a wide range of nanoscale materials, with often unique and technologically appealing properties. In many cases, practical applications of nanostructures require the ability to pattern nanoscale electrical contacts and interconnects. Low resistance Ohmic contacts and low RC interconnect delay, for example, are essential for optimum performance of traditional (Si based) nanocircuits. Similar requirements hold true for optoelectronics, energy scavenging, or chem/bio sensor devices based on emerging nanomaterials, such as graphene, carbon nanotubes, and nanowires. Schottky or rectifying contacts form the basis for a range of rf detector/mixer and high current rectifier devices. As device dimensions shrink below 45 nm, and as new materials with novel composition and geometry are explored for `next generation` s applications, the underlying physics of contact and interconnect formation and carrier transport needs to be re-examined. Single wall carbon nanotubes, for example, have a quasi-one-dimensional density of states and a relatively inert surface which results in less Fermi level pinning and a strong dependence of the contact barrier height on the metal workfunction. In addition, to assess the new properties of nanocontacts, a detailed experimental determination of structural and electronic properties of these interfaces is needed, which is often complicated by the buried nature of these interfaces. This workshop will address both theoretical and experimental approaches to understanding formation, carrier transport, reliability, and applications of metal/semiconductor nanocontacts and nanointerconnects.
Specific topics include: contact formation and transport at metal contacts to nanotubes, nanowires, graphene, quantum dots, and other nanomaterials; microstructure and morphology of nanointerfaces; reliability and stability of nanointerconnects and nanocontacts; applications of interconnects and nanocontacts in electronics, photonics, sensors, and energy scavenging; novel and established characterization methods applied to nanocontacts; theory and modeling of contact formation and transport at nanointerfaces; integration issues for practical interconnect and contact/metallization schemes for large arrays of nanostructures.

Advances in mobile hardware architectures and tremendous growth of high-speed wide-area cellular systems deliver anytime and anyplace availability of network-based information services to the owners of mobile computing devices. Ever-growing popularity of mobile devices, such as smart phones and netbooks, drives the demand for the development of innovative software and hardware architectures, applications, and network services aimed at these devices. As a result, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in the way people use computing technology in their everyday lives.
Behind this dramatic increase in the use of mobile communications and mobile devices, there is an implicit assumption of information security, privacy and trust (SPT). However, for this assumption to be correct, wireless communication and backend infrastructure, mobile device architectures, and mobile applications must be designed from the ground up with security and privacy concerns in mind. Security, privacy and trust cannot be an afterthought and must be an intrinsic requirement of any mobile computing system or mobile application.
The objective of the workshop is to create a forum for practitioners and researchers interested in the most recent developments in mobile computing and mobile applications with strong support for SPT. The workshop will serve as a venue to present and discuss novel and experimental mobile applications, architectures and mobile computing systems, discuss their work in progress and receive valuable feedback from peers.

Downlink peak rates of at least 100Mbit/s, uplink rates of 50 Mbit/s and RAN (Radio Access Network) round-trip times of less than 10ms is what Long-Term Evolution or the LTE targets in the near future for telecommunication world give the subscribers truly seamless communications. LTE a wireless broadband technology which is designed to provide an extraordinary user experience and easiest of technology for next generation mobile broadband is posing a serious threat to WiMax and the 3G services, which is gaining its ground slowly and gradually in India.
In a past decade wireless industry has seen a explosion in the demand for both voice and data services with the growth in number of mobile telephone subscribers as well as the usage rate. Long Term Evolution (LTE) will be strongly emerge as the next generation wireless technology that will lead the growth of mobile broadband services into the next level. Its adoption by service providers around the world has the potential to generate economies of scale unprecedented by any previous generation of wireless networking technology as it becomes the universal 4G mobile platform used by both GSM/HSPA and CDMA/EVDO service providers.
Operators are thus presented with a choice of technologies to provide their customers with wireless broadband services. This will allow them either to compete with fixed operators or to provide broadband services in areas where the fixed infrastructure does not exist and would be too expensive to deploy. Here, LTE offers compelling attractions for incumbent UMTS/HSPA operators such as the ability to re-use significant portions of their existing infrastructure, together with re-use of existing spectrum assets. While LTE looks firmly to the future, it does so with a Return of Investment (ROI) approach. As a result, LTE will allow operators to generate fresh sources of value from their existing network investments while enjoying the significant economies of scale that flow from participation in the world`s biggest and most successful family of evolving cellular system.
The conference will provide an update on the mobile broadband, current capabilities, the eco-system, drivers and directions for future evolution to the next generation/LTE and beyond. It will also discuss services and applications, business models, and challenges including solving spectrum needs for capacity and coverage requirements.
At this exclusive conference on Long Term Evolution (LTE), it will provide a useful & powerful forum for your organisation to discuss:
Why LTE when Broadband commodity is rapidly becoming commoditized?
Future of LTE in India where 3G is also moving towards progress at a snail`s pace.
Emerging newest technologies and market trends in the LTE.
LTE for Next generation Business Strategy.
How can the present infrastructure be re-used for LTE at the lowest cost?
Examining the role of the operators perspectives in driving revenues out of LTE.
Regulatory barriers.
Challenges and Opportunities.
Evolution of the core Network.
Driving Applications and Service Developments.
Exploring Collaborative Business Models, Innovative Applications, Technologies and Strategies for Growth.
Network with the industry colleagues & most importantly do business by developing key relationships.

From its inception in 2001, ITCN Asia , now being organized for the 10th consecutive year, has grown up as the biggest IT & Telecom extravaganza of Pakistan. Most powerful brands of the world will showcase their state-of-the-art products and services which would allow the user community to get exposure to a wide range of technology and solutions under one roof. Most importantly, it would provide an opportunity for business-to-business alliances, leveraging their mutual strengths. ITCN Asia Exhibitions & Conferences have been playing a pivotal role in landmarking the image of Pakistan on the world IT Map, bringing in huge foreign and local investments in the Country.
Over the years ITCN Asia has grown from a country event to a regional event. Just a few years ago there were very few companies with quality certifications. Today, we have over 100 ISO certified companies, the thrust on quality was continued with two new projects targeted to take five companies to CMM level 5 and 30 companies to CMMi level 3 and above.
In addition to Quality certifications and standardization processes, the industry requires Human Resource, Space and Bandwidth. We have an approved Public Sector Development project under which training programs, tailored to the specific needs of the Industry, are implemented by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). In addition to this, several other HR development programs are planned through the Telecom R&D Fund, where existing IT graduates are provided opportunity to seek apprenticeship and become more productive. Higher Education Commission created stronger Industry-Academia linkages and took other steps so that the quality of fresh graduates was improved.
Software Technology Parks (STPs) are being set up in all the major cities. In Islamabad one International Technology Park (ITP)is already in operation in Awami Markaz, while land has already been earmarked for other STPs. In Lahore, certain areas have been identified and are being finalized. In Karachi an ITP is already in operation in Caesar Tower, while, land has been acquired opposite Civic Centre for a 47 storey high IT Tower, where construction would commence soon. On the bandwidth front, until very recently, there was only a single optic fiber cable for International connectivity. Today, we have 3 separate submarine cables for International connectivity. This will provide the much needed resilience to our data networks.

Manufacturing and sales of photovoltaic (PV) energy have been growing at rates in excess of 40% for the last several years. Although the current economic down turn has caused some slow down of the PV sales for 2009, the PV energy production is expected to exceed 5GW. There is expected to be a strong recovery in the photovoltaic market in the near future. Currently, wafer based crystalline silicon continues to be the dominant material for solar cells and is expected to remain as the main technology for at least 10 more years. However, solar cells based on other material systems such as a-Si, CdTe, and CIGS are rapidly gaining ground. All of them are fabricated in thin films and have high potentials of cost reduction and quality improvement. Recent shortage of polysilicon feedstock has expedited commercialization of non-silicon technologies, as well as concentrator technologies that use silicon or other materials. Additionally, all these materials are gaining technological maturity now that a dramatic increase of production volumes is underway. This rapid expansion of the PV industry also brings new challenges – both in commercializing the technologies that produce high efficiency laboratory cells and in lowering the cost of PV energy further to be cost competitive with other energy technologies.
This 3.5 day workshop will be a forum to discuss major issues pertaining to current and emerging materials for PV applications and those related to low cost production of solar cells and modules. The workshop will offer an excellent opportunity for researchers in private industry and universities to prioritize mutual needs for future collaborative research. A combination of oral presentations by invited speakers, poster sessions, and discussion sessions will review recent advances in crystal growth, new cell structures, new processes and process characterization techniques, and cell/module issues for future manufacturing demands.
