12th International Symposium on Febrile NeutropeniaThis educational activity is designed for medical oncologists, infectious disease specialists, hematologists, hospitalists, and other physicians, physicians-in-training, and healthcare professionals interested and/or involved in the care of patients with febrile neutropenia.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Discuss and evaluate the clinical use of prophylactic versus empiric or preemptive therapy of fungal infections in febrile neutropenic patients
  • Discuss the appropriate selection and practical utilization of replacement antibiotics for therapy of infections caused by resistant bacteria in febrile neutropenic patients
  • Describe the role of native immunity on susceptibility and severity of infection in patients with febrile neutropenia
  • Identify and assess management strategies for infections in patients undergoing stem cell transplant from alternative sources and donors
  • Compare current and emerging therapies in the prevention and management of patients with febrile neutropenia
