The CIO Summit provides executives with the opportunity to interact with innovative solution providers, with whom they can partner to build innovation in the IT department. During a period of three days, attendees will interact with nationally recognized thought leaders as well as network with peers who are experts in the Information Systems and Technology field, allowing CIOs to walk away from the event with tools and strategies to dramatically catapult the IT Department from a cost center to a revenue driver.Creating an environment that promotes innovative thinking within the IT department is essential. Virtualization is widespread and is resulting in substantial cost savings and lowering disaster recovery response times. Integrating various systems is always a challenge amongst IT departments, and discovering tools to overcome these challenges is central to the CIOs role. Security remains a special concern as we are faced with an environment where the aggressors have access to more intelligence, with a wider array of tools available. Today’s environment is also set for mergers and acquisitions to become more prevalent. Determining how to allocate the IT budget across these needs is always a challenge as there will be tradeoffs. There will be no tolerance for obsolescence or obscurity.
