International Workshop on The Role and Impact of Mathematics in Medicine (RIMM 2010)
June 10 - 12, 2010(Ended)Paris Vème (Hermite Auditorium)
Paris, France
Paris, France
This workshop
will bring together mathematicians, statisticians, modellers, biologists,
epidemiologists, engineers, physicians, computer scientists, public health
officials and others who are interested in sharing views and experiences on
the use of mathematics in a broad variety of medical areas. The goal is not
to present highly technical papers. Instead, participants will step back from
their day-to-day activities and reflect on the impact of their research: how
and to what extent do mathematical results "trickle down" to the
front lines of the fight against disease and make a real difference to the
"end-users" and their patients? (for example through tangible benefits
of improved cancer therapies or positive global health effects of infectious
disease modelling). Medical imaging, cardiology, oncology, pharmacology, epidemiology
and other fields of medicine benefit from the use of mathematical/statistical
methods and will be represented at the workshop. English will be the working
language.Address
