is the premiere psychopharmacology conference from the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry. Speakers come from a variety of key University of Toronto teaching hospitals including: Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. This year, we are pleased to include two visiting professors, Dr. Jitender Sareen, Canada Chair in Anxiety Disorders from the University of Manitoba and Dr. Gary Hasey, from the Mood Disorder Program at McMaster University.
This 10th conference has expanded to 200 participants and moved to a new venue, the University of Toronto
Conference Centre, 89 Chestnut Street. This year’s event will begin with a neuroscience section involving three
plenary lectures, followed by a choice of six clinical workshops. The afternoon section features two clinical plenary lectures and another six workshops. Key topics include illness from PTSD to pathological gambling, a variety of workshops on mental health problems in the medically ill and a provocative session on pharmacists prescribing. The conference is designed to provide insights into the etiology and treatment of psychiatric disorders and the mechanisms of action of medications.
