The theme of IMPC 2010 is `Smarter Processing for the Future` and will feature the best in leading edge research and development.Recent worldwide economic changes and energy, water and environmental limitations have put immense pressure on reducing mineral processing costs. It is therefore very appropriate that the theme of IMPC 2010 is `Smarter Processing for the Future.`
IMPC 2010 will broadly encompass the following areas:

- sustainability and energy utilisation
- water recycling and frugal water use
- waste management
- in situ processing
- underground processing
- plant design and new equipment
- comminution and physical separation
- flotation
- aqueous processing
- bioprocessing
- agglomeration
- extractive metallurgy

- minerals industry education.
These areas are subject to change in keeping with promising developments in mineral processing. The submission of cutting edge papers in other emerging areas is encouraged and will be viewed favourably in finalising the program.
Contributions in these areas from practising metallurgists and engineers are particularly welcomed.
