We visited Chennai for Medical purpose and found there's language problem. The outo rikshaw driver/ Shop keeper do not understand Hindi as well as English, they only understand local language, felt very uncomfortable communication with them. For medical purpose Chennai is good and for others I totally disliked.

I believe India's fourth largest populous city, so it's huge. Liked the Tuk Tuk rides in crazy city traffic. The museums were good plus amazing Hindu temples. The general vibe of a large Indian city. Felt always safe.

Must visit. People are warm. Culture is open ended.
Must visit. People are warm. Culture is open ended. Malls especially amba is my all time favourite. Had food from mainly vegetarian restaurants. I would avoid taking taxi next time as public transport is still perfect in chennai. Getting around in taxi and auto is faster in this city. You can take a walk even in the night as people are respectful towards fellow human beings.

Beautiful place and nice people, though it was said, they only talk in Tamil, I found it incorrect coming from North India, they helped, in trains, taxi, Ola etc. Nice food. Good beaches, very good traveling measures, nice places around Chennai too.
Only it was hot for me...

Chennai is a surprisingly modern city in that its facilities and modes of transport are smooth and seamless. The metro is very convenient. The residents of Chennai, especially at their professions, have a pleasant professionalism and competence. While Chennai is warm, it isn't uncomfortably so.

Chennai is a huge, noisy, dirty city with horrendous traffic and very few tourist attractions. We only stayed there for a night at each end of our trip as we flew into and out of Chennai airport. I wouldn't bother spending any more time there than is necessary for transit to be honest.
Hotel Grand Residence located in the Porur area of Chennai is a nice clean comfortable hotel. It is not a luxury hotel (there aren’t too many luxury hotels in Chennai anyhow) but a nice hotel in its own accord. Look this hotel is safe especially for a western traveller. Their onsite restaurant is good. I actually stayed for over 3 weeks. As far as pricing, their walk-in rates are cheaper. Book for a day and negotiate a better price for an extended stay.
This property was beautiful - located in a residential part of Chennai, it was clean, modern with such friendly staff. There is a small pool and lounge area on the terrace and the rooms are just perfectly sized! I loved the decor of the hotel the most as well as how clean it was kept!
It was such a perfect stay for my busy week in Chennai and I got the best sleep there! Will definitely book again for my next trips.
I book rooms in Chennai for my clients. And the service at this hotel is amazing. Exceptional customer service, with a commitment to making my guests comfortable, the staff are so nice and helpful. Special mention to Ms. Pratibha. The rooms were well-maintained, beds were exceptionally comfortable. The rooms were well-furnished and equipped. Enjoyed the food at breakfast.
The location was good. Upgraded to the Royal suite package. Enjoyed the clubroom access. Return airport transfer was included. The service was excellent. We were assisted by a dedicated hotel staff member at the airport with check-in. Did not have to touch our luggage. We felt like so spoilt. Would highly recommend hotel when staying in Chennai.
I had a confirmed reservation but was denied room. I had even made a partial payment towards my booking. I had to undergo a traumatic night since no rooms were available for that night stay. Eventually I had to stay paying 18000 Rs. in an expensive hotel in ECR. Very poor service from the hotel, OYO as well as Booking.Com.
I went to chennai for my husband's operation, the hotel stuff and ambience made my stay in chennai comfortable and relaxing. The stuffs are really nice, if you are looking for a good and clean hotel in budget, I would suggest to stay there. If I ever get a chance to go to chennai I am going to stay there definitely.
I checked a lot of hotels in Chennai and a lot were fake photos or fake descriptions, like in most of big cities in India. This hotel is what you really expect in the good way. High standing, very nice staff and very clean. Amazing bed compared to other hotels. Location is also good.
Customer experience was excellent at all levels; from check-in, room service, staff at restaurant, spa etc. Dim Sum at Flying Elephant was yummy. Very pleased and definitely my go-to hotel when i visit chennai.
South Indian food with lot of choices makes the break fast really attractive. Nearest to two famous hospitals, Apollo Hospitals Chennai and Sankara Netralaya, make the poor rating hotel unavoidably attractive.
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Chennai . The downtown area on Main Street is a best kept secret and the G silver offers everything you need if you don’t feel like venturing out.
The guest House is nearest to Shankara netharalaya and attractive place of Chennai is marina beach is only 5km far.
North Indian hotel is very near.
The area is Family-friendly area.
Hospitality has been great, they made sure everything was comfortable and polite staff. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay around Chennai Central.
It’s my favorite hotel in Chennai. It is beautiful. The staff are kind and welcoming, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the food is great. I also love the location.
