The hotel is literally a few feet from the Nara station exit and it was easy to find the sign to go to the 3rd floor lobby of the hotel. There is also a big supermarket right next to the hotel and across from the Nara station, and the Tourist Information Center is right next to the supermarket. The Nara Park, Todaiji Temple and the other attractions are within walking distance from the hotel and through a lively shopping street. The bus stops are also right in front of the station. The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The amenities provided in the room, including a hot water kettle, fridge, and a yukata for using the public bath (if one is interested) were very good. One of the nice things I noticed in the hotel was the self-storage lockers for storing luggage near the reception desk either before or after check-in. The reception staff was also able to provide me with a tourist map. The hotel lobby also had free coffee in the morning, which was nice. If I were to visit Nara again, I would definitely stay in this hotel.
Open in June 2017, Piazza Hotel Nara is located just a minute's walk from JR Nara Station. Free WiFi is provided in all rooms. The property is nonsmoking throughout.

Loved the location - so close to the park! The self check-in was good. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. There was a little fridge and some basic dishes too (even though cooking was not allowed). It was nice to have a sofa to relax after walking around Nara all day. The shower and bath was really good too.

The Todaiji temple and the Kofuku-ji Buddhist temple next to it are a must-see. The museum was okay. The Isui-en Wisteria garden was okay too but it was too crowded because the flowers were in bloom. There are a number of restaurants and cafes on the street from the Nara Station to Nara Park.
Walking from Hotel Nikko/Nara Station to Nara Park and walking to all the attractions nearby was very tiring. So, I may recommend taking the bus on the way back, if possible. Also, it suddenly started raining in the afternoon and luckily, I had an umbrella with me.
I wished I had more time to see some of the other attractions outside of the Nara Park.

This was the most welcome I felt of our entire trip. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. If you could choose any hotel for your vacation this has to be the one because it will be your favorite. The food and staff were my favorites. The room was clean and comfy and they even had buckwheat pillows!

The best advice I can give is find where the biggest crowds are massed, all trying to impress deer with the same rice crackers that everyone else is trying to feed them, then pick a direction and walk away from them. There is so much more to the park: primeval forests, ancient stone pathways leading to temples and small villages older than most of our own countries, hidden pockets of lost time. It is hard to explain how it feels to not have another human being in sight, finding yourself passing stone idols carved by people hundreds of years ago, only to see a deer eating moss from the base of said idol that stops chewing to literally bow to you. Of course you bow back and scramble in your bag for some kind of treat to offer your new best friend (I recommend unsalted pretzel sticks, the deer hate plain rice crackers as much as we do at this point) and then having it gently eat from the palm of your hand, before you both again swap polite bows and go on your merry way. Then you hear a crow sing from the ancient forest behind you, and you just know: this is pretty cool.

Nice place, parks, plenty of temples, huge Buddha statues, a little ride by train and you can see the oldest still standing wooden building in the world!
And of course the deer! Feeding the deer with the deer cookies is fun and a little scary as they are quite bold and can pull and push you a bit.
Good food available as well.

There’s a lot to see in Nara but it is quite spread out.
There’s a lot to see in Nara but it is quite spread out. Buses are easy to use though. Taxis can get busy - couldn’t get a booking.
There are two amazing restaurants at the bus station.
And there’s a seismic company building that is really interesting, and even has a great view from the top.
Super location. From the windows I could see the roof Kofuku-Ji and the Pagoda (trees block some view but ok). The temple is just a couple hundreds of meters away. It's literally in Nara Park. One can walk to Todai-ji, Kasuga Taisha. Many restaurants to choose from. Shopping areas are nearby. Kitetsu Station is 10 minutes walk. The room is spacious and clean. No frill but everything works fine. Super Clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will most definitely recommend to solo travelers
The Location of the hotel is good for going to Nara Park or the Temple with the great Buddha Hall. The breakfast is good, though were still not sure why you can't order the ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast and just the Breads with different toppings (jam, beans, butter, egg). The room is very small if you travel with big suitcases but it works. The Bathroom is also good but very small. The famous Mochi maker and a good Street for souvenirs and dining is also very close.
Wonderful hotel in Nara located just across from the main station & the main street leading to the park. Clean and pretty spacious public baths. I preferred to stay inside as we hear trains pass in the outside onsen. Guests are required to leave shoes upon entering the lobby (shoe lockers provided) which we loved, felt like a true Japanese hospitality experience. Complimentary soba noodles in the evening. Small but very comfortable rooms.
This is a very excellent Hotel, with the most convenient location of any hotel that I have experienced in Japan, just one short block from the Jr Nara train station. From the train station, buses can take you anywhere that you would want to go in the Nara area, and to me, the Nora area is the best and most important sightseeing in Japan. The breakfast is excellent, as are the rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Aloha and Mahalo for the great staff and they were able to hold our luggage until it was time to check in.
The location was convenient and near a lot of places to eat and shop at. 7 eleven was 2 minutes away and the hotel even had a bar bakery and restaurant. The Deer park was just minutes away as well as the temples and shrines.
I would stay here again.

We absolutely loved this luxury ryokan in Nara. It was a perfect ending to our 2-week trip in Japan, especially after visiting the big cities prior to our stay at Sarusawaike Yoshida. The staff was so welcoming and helpful! We really enjoyed the private baths, the roof-top lounge, and the wonderful location of the hotel. Highly recommended!
Simply love the location which is west side of Nara Station. This side is quieter as compared to east. The hotel is clean and comfortable with onsen facility which really have advantage edge. Moreover the room is generously for twin sharing. Also walking distance to the shopping street. The staff are helpful and professional.
The location was ideal to walk to Nara park, and the husband and wife owners (I'm terrible with names 😅) were incredibly warming and open when I arrived, and helped to call a restaurant when I needed to check my booking.
My room was lovely, and this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!
Rooms, location, and staff are exceptional. One of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time. The proximity to other Nara attractions and small shops to wander around in is perfect. The hotel also has an impressive history that is well displayed. I highly recommend this hotel.
Modern hotel with humans free reception (check-in/checkout).
Room was small but comfortable. Bed was big enough for 2 people.
Location with city center, close to train station (2min walking), and the market. Nara park is walking distance too. Recommendef for families with kids
This is absoluteky my preferred hotel in Nara. Superb location and service. The in room dinner available is of high quality. Similarly the breakfast. The hotel has a superb in house hot bath and a superb cafe in the ground floor. Jens Hoeg Denmark
Easy check-in although there was no one to welcome us. The automatic luggage storage is quite impressive, too.
It's right next to Kintetsu station, very good location in general to explore Nara.
Big confortable room, very modern hotel.
Nikko hotel is situated right by the side of JR Nara Railway station. There is a bus station right below, plus a huge supermarket, a pharmacy and a walking street with many eateries. Very convenient location.
Location is good, close to Nara Park and many interesting points in Nara. There are many restaurants and bars nearby, also there is a shopping area close to the hotel. The room space is good shaped.
Location was fantastic, 2 minute walk to good restaurants and a short distance to walk to Nara Deer park and other locations. The hotel is beautiful and the view from the room was stunning.
It looked very nice and the location was good with a pretty view.
The staff was very welcoming.
They provided transportation to and from Nara.
The onsen was great.
The food was fancy.
Great location. Newer hotel with modern facilities. Had really nice amenities available in the lobby . Close to shopping and good restaurant options. Not too far from main park area.
The hotel's design and accommodations were astounding, and the personnel exhibited professionalism and kindness.
We particularly like the breakfast and how handy Nara Park was.
Their is nothing not to like about this hotel. The amenities are amazing and I would recommend this to anyone staying in nara. The location is perfect.
