The hotel is located amongst other accommodations. It is a good location to places and airport. It is though old room but clean and sufficient. I liked the 'pavillion' style. Unfortunately we did not get to stay in one of the pavillions but in the main builing. But that's fine.

A great city to get around. Plenty of eating places & things to do especially with the lovely weather and all the Autumn trees.
Riverside markets was great for breakfast & the Japanese restaurant Sokimoto for dinner.
Loved our Floral Art Conference in Christ's College. What a privilege to be able to go there.

We only had half a day in Christchurch (arrived at night, then flew out at 5pm next day) but even that was too much time to spend here! I wouldn't want to come back again. There wasn't anything interesting to see or do, apart from the "Quake City" exhibit which was good. Walked thru the botanic gardens and around the "city centre" but it was pretty much a ghost town, with hardly any people or tourists around and not really any good shops. We kept Googling for things to do, but ended up just sitting in the cafe at a Mitre 10 hardware store to fill in time til we had to go to the airport. I guess this city is more of a base for flying into (more flights than Queenstown) and for exploring further away sites.

Enjoyed the Gondola and the International Antarctic Centre but little time to do much else. Hated the traffic as we arrived around peak hour but also found the speed zones very slow compared to other cities.

A very pleasant city with delightful walks along the river Avon with excellent shops and restaurants. The only negative point was that there seemed to be only one ATM in the city so cards are essential!

If I had to skip 2 destinations on a long trip to NZ they would be Wellington and Cristchurch. Not a lot going on in either for a foreign traveller but at least Christchurch had good food options and a better climate.

Great city, there is still a lot of work going on around the city following the 2011 earthquake but the work completed so far looks fantastic. Oxford terrace is a beautiful place to sit and have a drink and something to eat. Dimitris Souvlaki is superb. Paddy McNaughtons and The Church are great places for a beer or 3.
Loved my stay there, hope to be back soon.
Stunning heritage venue with a superb location in central Christchurch CBD. Close to all town venues, attractions, and amenities including public bus transport. Beautiful high ceilings and split-level rooms stay warm and comfortable in winter and are quake-proofed. Mostly high quality (albeit older) appliances for self-contained living, and Sky TV included. Fast cleaning upon request, and great sun block-out curtains. Excellent in-house gym, pool, and sauna amenities. Friendly staff. Less than half the price of the hotel in the same building.
This was an excellent hotel right next to the airport terminal, car rentals and bus stops so could not have been handier. The rooms and facilities were also excellent and we had a very comfortable stay the night before our flight out of Christchurch. The Antarctic Centre and some shops/restaurants are nearby (walkable) and it is easy to get a bus from/to Christchurch.
The location of the hotel across the street from the Christchurch Botanic Gardens was just wonderful. The gardens are amazing. Hotel Give had absolutely the best bed on our 2 week trip to New Zealand. Staff was so helpful and nice. So handy to have the cafe just outside the entrance to the hotel. Yummy food including breakfast, sandwiches, and coffee drinks.
Handy location in the CBD and very close to the convention centre
Quiet rooms and comfy beds
The room was modern with a nice bathroom
The best hotel hair dryer I’ve ever used
I liked having the little Nespresso machine
There was even an iron and ironing board to use
Excellent value for money compared with other hotels in the CBD
Rick was super helpful and friendly. As we had an afternoon flight out of Christchurch, Rick kept our luggage, picked us up from the city and drove us to the airport for minimal fee. Kitchen has everything needed including a rice cooker and slow cooker. Bus 28 just around corner very convenient as the bus fares are very cheap.
The owner and staff were extremely nice and helpful. The location was close to everything interesting in the city. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel for easy access to the other city sights and the airport. The apartment had everything necessary if you wanted to cook, but it is also close to several restaurants.
Unbelievable accommodation for price. Yes the room was small. But it was so clean, very comfy beds, awesome strong shower. Staff were so friendly. Awesome cheap shuttle arranged to airport. I highly recommend Southwark Hotel and Apartments. probably only as a stopover for one night, maybe two but we will be back.
free parking and large room - we had a exec room.
It was very quiet which was surprising for Riccarton Road.
There is a dairy ( corner shop) and thai and chicken places about a minute from the hotel.
Its also near Riccarton Mall and petrol stations and on the airport run.
Perfect for a 2-day stopover in Christchurch! Staff was so nice and helpful. Very nicely maintained hotel. Beautiful garden view from our room. Nice indoor pool. Comfortable beds and rooms. Excellent restaurant on site with delish continental breakfast and dinner menu.
Great location, really genuine friendly staff, clean well equipped comfortable rooms that have all you really need, and a very good restaurant attached to the hotel. Great pub just down the road as well. Easy to find from Airport and only ten minutes into CBD.
super clean, comfortable and convenient to downtown. easy access from the airport via the metro bus. super cheap compared to an Uber or taxi. staff was friendly and helpful.
Very near airport and next door to international antartic centre. Airport shuttle available 24/7. Also walking distance to supermarket. Room is comfy and clean.
The location was great for UC, Riccarton and Christchurch, and the airport. The manager was really friendly welcoming and helpful. Plenty of food options around.
near airport within walking distance, cheaper solution other than Novotel.
the Staff is super helpful on our request..
