Fun for the Whole Family
Located next to Walt Disney World, the city of Kissimmee was founded in the mid-19th century. It is located on the shores of Lake Tohopekaliga, and is the seat of Osceola County, Florida. Kissimmee offers not only a range of hotels near Disney World, but includes a charming historic downtown and activities in contact with nature.
The small town benefited economically during the last years of the 19th century thanks to a drainage operation in the territory of southern Florida that used the area near the city as a base. But the economic crisis in 1893 forced the operation to stop, in the same moment that harsh weather ruined the citrus industry. The opening of Walt Disney World in 1971 brought a real economic renaissance.
The city also includes several modern sports complexes, like the Osceola County Softball Complex. Activities in the surroundings range from cruises through the lake, to visits to the Kennedy Space Center. Hotels in Kissimmee can become a perfect base to explore central Florida, including nearby Orlando.

My booking was for a 3br villa w small pool. We got a 3br w a jacuzzi. They offered a different villa NEXT DAY bc they had no other villas w a private pool available. They provided credit/giftcard to the restaurant to smoothen edges. We emailed them to let them know we’d check in 730-8p no one was available on property at that time. I had to call and wait for security to show up. Kissimmee is a great location to visit the Disney Theme Parks. It is a bit further away from Universal Studios. The traffic on HWY 192 (Orlo Bronson Hwy) can be a nightmare during certain times! My navigation device did its best to avoid Orlo Bronson Hwy during these times BUT everyone else was using the same alternate routes so it was still congested. But this area of Kissimmee/Davenport is fairly new and traffic on Hwy 27 was a moderate but never reached gridlock level I was out and about. Overall all a good location if you want to stay away from the older, touristy and congested Orlo Bronson Hwy around the Disney Theme Parks.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0

I have stayed around there for the past 3 yrs,I lived in FL for 17 yrs love it usually stay around Sarasota,but the last couple years prices r at a premium & they don't have nearly as many homes,or condos, or hotels as Kissimmee so the last few yrs we stayed at Champion Gate,Vacation Villas 2 Ramada,Polynesian Isle Blvd Magic Moment Resort, they really need some concerts, & things other than Disney stuff,traffic is horrible but all of FL is on Spring break all the seniors,Kissimmee has some great places to stay & good prices & is a nice place with any restaurants you wantShaffer - 8.0Scored 8.0

Weather was nice, many activities for families with kids. Theme parks are getting too expensive and very long lines to get on rides even during non peak times. Tickets costed more than airfare, house and rental car combined. Late night restraunt selection is limited for after theme parks close. With a large group, you need to plan ahead

Traffic can be a little crazy so it's good to map out where you are going ahead of time or use the trolleys and hotel shuttles. One thing we never knew existed until Kissimmee: A Latin/ Chinese Buffet! What!!??!! OMG it was so good. We left so full and not broke. A dinner buffet with a drink was only $16. Check out EL Palacio Buffet.

It was a total mess
It was a total mess We never got to see the unit 4203 since we were locked out. Only to be put in unit 7402, which was FILTHY AND full of roaches. Booking.com never gave us a confirmation on this unit but still took our money and the owner would not solve the problem As a result we could only spend a day and a half under these conditions In the end we paid 6768.39 for 2 days of filth. Booking .yeah.keep making money for no service
