We enjoyed our trip to Charleston. We did a 2 hour walking tour through the city and it was very interesting. Our tour guide, Fran, with Bulldog Tours was very knowledgeable and passionate about the city. Loved seeing The Battery and all of the beautiful historic homes. These homes have the most beautiful window boxes filled with flowers. We also did a harbor cruise with Harbour Tours which was very informative. We got right up to the USS Yorktown. There is an abundance of restaurants and bars to choose from. We went to Rue de Jean and Coast Bar and Grill. Both were located in Hutson's Alley. Good food and reasonable prices. If you love to shop you have to go to King Street. There were many boutiques and high-end shops. Lots of places to eat or stop for a drink or coffee. Charleston is a very walkable city, and we definitely got our miles in! Now that I am more familiar with certain parts of the city I would try other small hotels on our next visit.

Charleston is always a delightful visit.
Charleston is always a delightful visit. The hotel was close to the venue for a wedding (Charlestown Landing at the Legare Waring House). Charlestown Landing, with the gorgeous azaleas and other flowers in full bloom, was breathtaking and the perfect setting for the outdoor wedding under the ancient live oaks that epitomize quintessential Charleston. The hotel was conveniently located to various restaurants (Boxcar Betty's did run out of chicken Friday evening so go early!) in the area and was very easy to maneuver with GPS. Stella's is a great restaurant featuring Greek cuisine and you're hard pressed to find better, fresher oysters (and other delicious fare) than at the Darling Oyster Bar.

It’s a beautiful historic city.
It’s a beautiful historic city. If you are downtown there is a free bus and it is easy to walk to many sites. We had a wonderful dinner to celebrate a special birthday at Halls Chop House, expensive but worth it. Also had a delightful lunch at Magnolia. Everything was crowded and expensive. Reservations at popular places are a must even on weekdays in April!

Plan on doing some walking.
Plan on doing some walking. We enjoyed a horse-drawn carriage tour - an hour long, $50, well worth it, and a great tour guide. Shopping at the Marketplace is a must, 3 blocks of warehouse buildings full of unusual items. The Waterfront is a beautiful walk, as is Rainbow Row (a collection of pastel colored homes). We had Lunch at Magnolia's at the bar, which was Outstanding. We spent our first afternoon at Boone Plantation - HIGHLY Recommended! Beautiful gardens, "Entrance of Oaks", a Cafe' on site, and a Tractor tour of the property, all wonderful. If you can only do 1 plantation, this one is CLOSE, 20 minutes from downtown, and beautiful.

Charleston is an awesome walking city. So much history.
Charleston is an awesome walking city. So much history. Definitely take a walking tour, as soon as you arrive. A great way to learn the lay of the land and what Charleston is all about. Restaurants are way above most cities. You can tell the chefs take great pride. We enjoyed "Southbound Restaurant!" Every bite was incredible with different taste that we could not pinpoint but enjoyed immensely! Make reservations well in advance, as the weekends are full. Great city for couples and girls weekend. Lots and lots of shopping! Fun City!

This was my third time in Charleston.
This was my third time in Charleston. I really love this city! We went to the South Carolina aquarium again and had a fabulous time. We also went out to Fort Sumter, which was an amazing trip. However, it was very windy that day. We also went out to Boone Hall plantation, and that was very informative and very interesting as well. Shem Creek and Sullivans Island were also wonderful.
The breakfast was great and the staff that served it was awesome.
The location of our hotel was also great! Just off Hwy 26 and minutes to downtown Charleston.
After looking for several days it was also the best deal for my budget and there is a hot tub :D
This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel in the past 10 years. It has never been a disappointment. It has maintained the same level of convenience, comfort and quality that I can trust. I'll come back.
I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The cleanliness, staff, great location to downtown Charleston, the battery, market's. Room was exceptionally clean. Pool and BBQ very relaxing. Breakfast was above average and geared towards Adult's as well as children. Facilities exceptionally clean. The only thing about this location is you don't have any view of the Charleston vibes because it's in an industrial multiple hotel complexes to choose from.
I looked all over for hotels that didnit allow pets and most glad I came across this hotel. In addition, the rooms were up to date, clean and comfortable. The manager and staff were hospitable and accommodating. Also, there's a very good restaurant next door to the hotel which was pretty convenient. I would definitely book this hotel again when traveling back to Charleston, SC.
The staff were outstanding and made us very welcome. The place is quaint and a refreshing break from chain hotels. The location is amazing - perfect for all that downtown Charleston has to offer. The breakfast was excellent as were the snacks, cookies and drinks that were provided for free. Overall we would highly recommend this charming hotel.
Amazing hotel! When we arrived we were welcomed by a cheese & wine reception. I knew it but my family was impressed :-) The location could not be any closer to the historic downtown - it is inside! We loved our stay and agreed that Indigo Inn was one of the best hotels on our trip. Parking was also easy.
Location is perfect to explore Charleston and surrounding area. Easy to access the historic district and you can walk to the USS Yorktown. Loads of restaurants at Mount Pleasant and Shem Creek.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was a great size, clean and bed was comfortable. Parking easy.
the best hotel the staff very friendly, the room was very clean and the beds very comfortable, and the sofa bed very comfortable too, my next trip I will return to the same hotel. Is like 30 minutes from folly beach not too far, and like 16 minutes from the charleston downtown.
Good location, 5 minutes drive to beach, 20 minutes to downtown Charleston.
Right hand side of beach house on residential estate.
Recently renovated bathroom & kitchen which was well equipped with many extras. Full cooker & fridge/freezer. Very clean.
We liked the room a lot,we had everything that we needed right there. The hotel location was great. We had restaurants, shops, and downtown Charleston was just over the bridge.Patriots Point was right at us also.We had a h great stay even with the rain.
We stayed at the Francis Marion for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is positioned perfectly to be able to explore Charleston on foot. The restaurant provides breakfast which we found to be very good.
The staff was very accommodating. They were short staffed and didn’t have the room we needed but put us in a larger room for our stay. We were able to walk into downtown and the free bus was just outside the hotel.
Our room was very comfortable, though so near the pool, it was sometimes loud. The location of the hotel is perfect for heading towards downtown Charleston or James Island & for heading into Mt. Pleasant.
Location of the hotel and size of our room were fantastic. The hotel is located right on King street making all of the Charleston attractions downtown easy to access by walking.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. Room itself was clean. The hotel was a close drive to downtown Charleston. Overall, nice hotel for the price.
So close to Shemp Creek area. Just right over the bridge from downtown Charleston. Great location for the money. The hotel staff were top notch. Super nice
