FAQs about hotels in Munich

Beyond Oktoberfest

Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.

Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall, or Glockenspiel, in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.

For great shopping, Karlsplatz is a pedestrian zone which takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse is yet another commercial wonderland. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city center from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

It was quite crowded in early May.

It was quite crowded in early May. We did a walking tour with Radius. Our guide Patrick was excellent but he had a larger group than we’d been promised, and it was hard to hear at times. We loved visiting the Market and having lunch in the biergarten there. We also enjoyed the the 1€ entry to the art museums on Sunday.

Very clean city, full of parks and gardens. Many young and active people. A lot of things to go and see. All around you can go on a bicycle. The public transport is organized perfectly. The only minus is the food - it's awful - only meet and potatoes!

The city is well worth the visit.

The city is well worth the visit. Although it suffered during the WWII, there are still many historical building and churches preserved. One can also take interesting one day trips from Munich. I went to view the castel Neuschwanstein and took an excursion to the former concentration camp Dachau. The art gallery has a precious collection of fine art from Middle Ages to present time.

Great city with great architecture, nice restaurants, and of course lots of activities. I personally love visiting the Viktualienmarkt, then having a coffee and a Rohrnudel at Cafe Frischhut, which is conveniently located right next to it. You can spend a lot of time people watching, and to see real Múnchner is fun. Loved climbing up the tower of St Peter’s Church and we were lucky to have great weather so we could see the Alps. A visit to Dalmayers, Manufactum and the famous Elli Seidl chocolaterie was a must. Best chocolate in town - for me at least A walk along the river Isar is also nice - you can sit right at the river and take a breather from traffic and people, quite chilled there

It was my second experience in the Numa apartments. The first one was in Florence, and the second in Munich. It was really amazing. I walked to city center, it takes 40-45 minutes. If you want to use transport, there is u2 subway close to apartment. So after 10 minutes you will be in city centre (sendlinger tor), after one station it is munchen hauptbahnof. The room is so clean, modern decorated. There are some snacks, beer and lemonade for free. In a word one of my best stays! Thank you for everything.

The hotel has a really good location, it is easily accessible from the central train station of Munich (and from the city center) with S8 and S6 (max 20 mins). My room was big and perfectly clean. It included a small but well equipped kitchenette (kettle, hot plate, microwave, plates, dishes, glasses and cutlery) and I had a balcony. I especially liked the huge and modern bathroom. I spent in the hotel only 2 nights but it is a good choice for longer stays as well.

Large hotel quite close to Munich ring road. Ideal location if you are traveling by car and looking for a stay near Munich. It’s located far from city center so assume it’s mostly suitable for business travelers (Messe) and car travelers looking for an overnight near Munich. Room is large enough with comfy beds and bathroom. There are also amenities for coffee and tea. There was even at night free parking available. We didn’t test the breakfast.

The only pleasant experience of our 4 night stay was a staff member my the name of Natalia who was always smiling and even took the time to remember my son’s name. Overall though the hotel was very disappointing. We unknowingly came during the opening weekend of Oktoberfest and spent $325 per night for a hotel that is worth $75, at best. The location is so far from Old Town Munich yet they still charge $19 per day for parking!

The staff at the reception desk was very friendly during the check-in. In my opinion, the hotel is quite clean in general, good breakfast and very calm at night to sleep very well. Location is not the best for visiting the city centre but in my case was good for being close to the Allianz Arena. Recommended if you visit the stadium for a game. Metro is 20 minutes walking distance and you have a bus in front of the entrance.

A nice hotel with friendly staff, located in a beautiful neighborhood of Munich. The hotel location is close to a subway station (U-Bahn) and also close to an S-Bahn station. You can move easily to the city center without spending much time on commuting. Our room was nice and comfortable. We were sceptical at first about staying so close to a train station but the area is super family family-friendly, quiet and has really easy access to the central train station and city centre of Munich. The hotel is located in the city centre (no need to take a car/public transport to visit the center). The staff is really nice and the hotel car park it's really useful (it's also cheap)

Room was clean and quiet. Was our second stay in this hotel. Nice staff and good location for travelers by car. Good public transport to the city center of Munich.
