This review is a long time coming. I want to share with the whole world how amazing this hotel is I’m not exaggerating we were treated like a VIP and a good friend. That combination of treatment is only seen in the finest properties worldwide and we received it here in Kanazawa. We stayed in a world famous ryokan the following night, and while that was also superb. The service at this much larger hotel left us with high expectations. Even if we weren’t upgraded to a high floor view room, the rooms themselves are immaculately clean, plush, quiet, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Concierge made great recommendations. Take advantage of the skybar lounge. Beautiful piano music and precision-made classic cocktails. All this right across from the station. You could easily stay here a month (if there was that much to do in Kanazawa.) Congrats Hotel Nikko Team domo arigato gozaimasssssu! 🙏

Tokyu Stay Kanazawa, hotel in Kanazawa

Located in Kanazawa and within a 9-minute walk of Kanazawa Castle, Tokyu Stay Kanazawa has a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property.

The hotel was great. Location was the best, it was right in the middle of almost all the sights we wanted to visit, all within walking distance. The rooms were larger than we expected and accomodated two people with two medium sized luggages perfectly. The view from our room was also amazing, able to see a beautiful sunset. Food at breakfast was also really nice, while limited variety, still tasted amazing.

The Castle grounds, museum of modern art, night lit botanical garden and the acquarium are excellent, and my kids also had a good time climbing the various rock formations/ sitting on a boatride to see the sea caves, and soaking in the sakura. (the latter 3 activities require a drive out of Kanazawa itself) Make sure to visit the Aquarium! Family friendly, well curated, and very reasonably priced. Be sure to eat at the seafood market - the sea urchin and unagi on offer will speak for itself

Kanazawa was brilliant, especially after Kyoto.

Kanazawa was brilliant, especially after Kyoto. While Kyoto was crowded and set-up to process lots and lots of people, here it was so different. The cherry blossom festival in the park was full of people, but it wasn't heaving, like so much of Kyoto, and it was mostly Japanese people. There's so much to see and do here! People were super friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The castle area is beautiful, especially at night. The various Chaya areas were pleasant too. We rented kimonos and went for a rickshaw tour around Kanazawa, which was a highlight of the whole trip.

We spent 4 days in Kanazawa.

We spent 4 days in Kanazawa. Taking time to enjoy beautiful parks during cherry blossoms. Parks looked like from the postcard, presenting top level of Japanese garden art. Including windy paths, streams, small bridges, bonzai trees. Elaborated to every detail. City walls impressed me, and at well preserved samurai district we could find out how the life looked like 300-400 years ago. If I will have more time, I will spend couple days more here.

If you love to go to traditional food markets, this is the hotel to book. You just have to cross the street to go to the market and you can practically eat all your meals there and the price is so reasonable. Caveat here, if you eat at the stalls, you will have to eat standing up in front of the stall but it is great that you can move from stall to stall to taste different foods. However, there are also restaurants inside.

Kanazawa is a great place to visit and to have as a central point to head out to other places. From Kanazawa we went out to Kurobe Gorge which is such beautiful country side. One of our favorite hotels in Japan. The location was great, the staff were friendly, the amenities were nice, and the room was really comfortable. It was super close to everything you might want to see in Kanazawa and walking distance to the train station, I don't think we used public transport here. The restaurants in the area are second to none - although you will need to do some research in advance and make reservations months in advance to get the good ones. The room was super comfortable and it was nice to use the onsen in the hotel.

This a very elegant property. Our king room was large and spotless, it could accommodate comfortably 3 people. We loved the design, the colours, the details that make this a worthy 5-star property. We were very happy with the mix of Japanese and Western breakfast, both in terms of variety and quality. Fast self checkout was appreciated, as we had to run for the train (btw, despite being next to the station, the hotel is very quiet). Overall we loved this hotel and we would definitely choose Hyatt Centric again for our next Kanazawa trip.

Very good location, a short drive from the main train station and within walking distance to the major sites (10 mn to the castle, 15 mn to Kenrokuen and 21 Museum, 5 mn to the market) . The Mitsui Garden Hotels rooms are very cleverly organized to offer everything plus confort in limited space, this Kanazawa one is no exception. The Japanese breakfast was excellent, with products locally sourced. The view on a small garden was a bonus, and the very Japanese decoration in all public spaces, a mix of traditional with a modern twist.

Amazing hotel to all regards. Located at the heart of Kanazawa in the Katamachi (Samourai) district, close to main avenue, area full of restaurants and at walking distance to castle, castle park, contemporary museum, and other areas of interest. Superb room design, large rooms and very pleasant bathrooms, toilets separated from shower (rare in Japan). Breakfast by far the best we had in Japan. Absolutely amazing to all regards, with spectacular attention to details. Nice and relaxing public bath. Impeccable room cleanliness. Bravo!

This was a great little hotel during our few days in Kanazawa. It’s right in the Highashi Chaya district, which is lovely to wander around, and not too long a walk from major tourist sites (Kanazawa Castle, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, and my favorite, Kenroku-en). The washer-dryer in the room worked great and was a nice bonus, and we appreciated the online guides to all of the room’s gadgets. We never figured out the tub, but loved it nonetheless! Breakfast was more western-style than Japanese, but still very good.

It was extremely close to all the places I had on my itinerary for my time in Kanazawa- walking. I took a wonderful e-bike tour with Ti & he indicated the hotel is in the fashion region. I really found it to be above my expectations. The staff were so helpful in booking me a cab to facilitate with my large luggage to train station. They were extremely helpful in planning additional things to do in Kanazawa . And the bar & food were delicious there. I loved how clean, comfortable it was.

Motoyu Ishiya is a 230 year old hotel just outside of the historic city of Kanazawa. The property itself is stunning, the photos do not do this place justice. It is a very spiritual place where you can’t help but feel at peace. The staff are exceptional and accommodate English speakers to the best of their ability. The meals included are very traditional and require an open-mindedness from foreigners. I look forward to returning in the future.

This is one of the best hotels we've stayed at in Japan. Firstly the location is great, within walking distance of Kanazawa Stn, the castle ruins and of course the fish market. The buses came so frequently too. The room itself was so comfy, clean and a little bigger than most Japanese rooms. The walls felt quite thick so we weren't worried about being too loud for our neighbours. Great amenities and free coffee in the lobby.

This small hotel was perfect for our stay in Kanazawa. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. It is near the key sites in the city and walking distance to Kanazawa Station.

For the price point, this hotel is truly a gem to stay at! The experience feels as if it should cost $100 a night normally! This is my go-to hotel if I ever stay at Kanazawa!
