Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded by water on 3 sides, the city's spread over steep hills that make for great photo ops. And none better than the zig-zag Lombard Street, seen in many a film. Even more famous are San Fran's iconic trolleys climbing the hills – a little touristy, but still worth a ride.
In the middle of the bay, Alcatraz island is known for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t go inside, the views of the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere is life in San Francisco more laid-back than on the Pacific beaches. Rent a bike and head out there, passing through the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. Don't miss the clam chowder served in bread bowls! Chinatown also has a great selection of mid-range restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want a more independent stay in apartments, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something for everyone. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here!

Since the homeless were hustled out of the City to make it look good for the Chinese visitors a while ago, it's not as bad as it was but still not great. However, there are still many car break-ins happening and are warned by the hotels to not leave anything in your car. The DeYoung Museum, The Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Park, Japantown, China Town, The Momo and the wharfs are all favorite places to visit. Getting around is very slow due to traffic and parking is expensive. When you leave the City, do not attempt it past 2:30PM as traffic is barely creeping. I suggest taking Lift or Uber around the City during your stay, they are everywhere and inexpensive. We always eat in Japantown, restaurants in the Filmore District, and just outside of Golden Gate Park. Enjoy the City as there is a lot to experience.

We stayed in union Square area and it was a 5 minute walk from the Powel station bart. The area felt safe and clean, we stayed away from the Tenderloin. Taking the cable cars to peir 39 was fun, so many great places to eat seafood and visit the shops, we saw an improvement in panhandling and streets were clean we are already planning our next visit. We recommend eating at the Sears restaraunt and Lori's 50's diner, the Matador for Mexican food, and The Chancellor Hotel was excellent.

Actually a great city for tourism.
Actually a great city for tourism. But lately too many homeless in the street / people who using drugs or smoke marijuana in some location really make a not so comfortable experience.. The government should do something about it.

I love San Francisco for the convenience of walking around and having plenty to do all day. They have plenty of beautiful parks and locations to enjoy the views and sights of San Francisco. There are so many museums and attractions, and so much to learn about the area and it’s cultures and environment. This visit San Francisco looked and felt so much cleaner than a year ago that I visited. My family walked to many places feeling safe.

Beautiful multi cultural city, you have the harbour, the bridge, alcatraz, fishermans wharf, union square for shopping and eating. We did the movie tour of the city for the 2nd time =,wonderful tour with each stop/ city sector in San Fran connected to movie scenes locations that you can relate to. Makes the experience special. Would def recommend.
We also did the ferry to Sausilito, lovely Town on the water with souvenir shopping + restaurants and cafes and great view back to the city. We caught the bus back across the Golden Gate bridge .. recommend that you get $13USD day pass that covers cable cars and buses for the day. The ferry would be additional cost $14 so to save money you could get bus there and back.
The location was walking distance to Union Square and public transport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The old world charm of the hotel, our room was very comfortable, the water was hot. Having a kitchenette was a great cost saving and convenience, as was the deli market right next door. continental breakfast is included every morning too. The manager let us store our luggage after check out and use the common area while we waited for a late flight. I would highly recommend this hotel for comfort on a budget
first of all was greeted by the owner, who was so lovely, made me feel very welcome, advised on how to best spend my few days in san francisco, gave me map, advise what to do and where not to go. The room was very clean, quiet and felt warm (in a good way). shared bathroom and toilet were very clean and not too many people sharing with. The hotel was 10 min walk to Union square and just slightly more to the closest train station (there direct train to the airport) so very easy commute.
Top class Hotel! Staff extremely friendly! If we plan to visit San Fran again, this hotel would be our choice!
Located in the center, close to Union Square, you have everything nearby. And if you are lucky enough to get a hotel room in floor 26 (like we did :-)), you can enjoy a breathtaking view! Free Gym in floor 35 makes even the training super easy!
When it comes to San Francisco, safety is a topic; by choosing this hotel, you don't have to worry about any safety concerns.
Hotel G was excellent! The location is perfect, very close to Union Square. With the increased homelessness in and around San Francisco we wanted to be sure to find a safe hotel - and this felt exactly like this! Right from the secured and part-time personnel guarded door to the helpful reception staff we found this hotel to be a great pick. Would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a clean, spacious room smack in the middle of an otherwise busy city.
We recently stayed at Executive Hotel Vintage Court during our trip to San Francisco, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. While there were some positive aspects, there were also several areas that left me feeling underwhelmed.
Firstly, the location of Executive Hotel Vintage Court was convenient, as it was centrally located in downtown San Francisco. This allowed for easy access to popular attractions and public transportation.
Union Square is our preferred area to stay in SF and the night we arrived, the homeless situation seemed to be more in check. We had been warned that it had gotten much worse recently so we were pleasantly surprised (for a minute). Thus hotel is a block off Powell. The lobby isn't much to look at but the staff were very friendly. We received a room upgrade upon arrival b/c we booked via booking.com and two complimentary waters.
If you're ever in SF the mission area is the best! Union hotel is especially 🔥 It's got security close by because of the dance club next door and it's gated. Check out San Francisco ya'll. My Grandmother was right. It's nice! #travel
PS: the "Sandwich Place" across the street has the best fucking sandwiches. Tell him Amos sent you and I bet he'll laugh :) Good people for real!

The location was everything. Located in downtown, close by to the mall, movies, restaurants, and union square. The beds were extremely comfy and the room was very spacious. Room comes with an empty refrigerator which is great, unlike other hotels in SF that have items inside for you to purchase, which leaves no space to put items.
Free quick breakfast and coffee to go. Location is great for the fact Union Square is near by and so many other spots near by the downtown area. Cozy, clean and safe Hostel. I would highly recommend as a traveler for business as myself or leisure. A great way to meet so many people from around the world.
The room I have is spacious and staff there are friendly. The hotel is new and very near to hop on hop off bus stop. Walking distance to Union Square as well. The most important, provide service to keep the luggage which I saw many of San Francisco Hotel doesn't provide this service.
The hotel has the best position ever, at the beginning of 4th Street, right next to Market Street and very close to the Financial District and Union Square. The complimentary coffee they serve in the morning is really good. They provide plenty of towels and toiletries.
Large hotel with modern touches. Comfortable rooms. It’s also conveniently located for various areas around Union Square (and up up up). Excellent restaurant, Tratto, just off the beautiful lobby area. Deliciously creative menu and great cocktails.
The location couldn’t be more ideal—right on Powell, a few blocks from Union Square, very central to the other neighborhoods that define downtown San Francisco life. The complimentary coffee and tea service in the lobby was also a plus.
Location Location Location. MUNIMOBILE could be helpfull. Cable car stop just around the corner. All day pass 13$. Two routes from downtown near Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf (HOTEL CAZA) , and a third route along California Street.
Great location, modern concept and design, awesome security system! Fair value for money, especially for San Francisco Union Square area. Easy access to public transportation and great proximity to wonderful restaurants.
Everything!
Small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee machine, utensils and basic kitchenware), good tv, great sized room, new and clean!! Magnificent hotel. Really well situated in San Francisco! (Union Square)
Great, very nice hotel in downtown area of San Francisco. Bed was comfortable and everything clean. Water is for free, you can refill your bottle on each floor. We enjoyed our stay.
Hotel is located in a quiet Street in downtown. 3 blocks to union square. Bus stop is at the door.
The suite is very clean with high standard upgrade. The staff is very helpful.
