One couldn’t find a more convenient location central to everything in the old district, and reasonably priced public parking just steps around the corner. The restaurant and guest breakfast room are charming. Their is an elevator, however, their are steps up to reception and steps down to some rooms after the elevator, so if mobility is an issue, let them know. Everything was absolutely spotless and comfortable.

Picture perfect Heidelberg is guarded by its famous castle halfway up a hill. If you don’t feel like walking, a funicular train goes there and continues to Königstuhl Mountain whose views are fit for the king it is named after. Dating to the 13th century, the ruined castle has peaceful landscaped grounds to wander, and the Heidelberg Tun, the world’s biggest wine barrel. And big it is!
At the foot of the hill is cobbled Hauptstrasse, supposedly Germany’s longest pedestrian shopping street selling traditional German beer mugs amongst other things. Also here are sidewalk cafes, the odd bierkeller and several Heidelberg hotels.
A short walk west is the Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit), towering above the Baroque old town. Its square is the site of the Heidelberg Christmas markets, while to the north the beautiful Old Bridge crosses the Neckar River and ends at a twin-towered city gate.
Further west is Heidelberg University, the oldest in Germany and with a national reputation to rival Cambridge, its sister city. Over the river, Neckarwiese is a riverside park popular with students for a barbecue and beer, while by night the city’s many bars stay open until the early hours (and beyond!).
The nearest airports – Frankfurt and Stuttgart – both offer quick access by train to the Heidelberg accommodations on Booking.com

I recommend taking a stroll along the Philosophers' Walk, visiting Heidelberg Castle, sampling the delightful treats at "Zeit für Brot" café, and taking trips to the numerous towns surrounding Heidelberg, such as Ladenburg, Speyer, Neckargemünd, and others.

An excellent city, spotlessly clean, of fairytale beauty. We found everything, shops, restaurants, cafes. The walks by the river, on the pedestrian streets of the old town, as well as the visit to the castle, will be unforgettable for us forever.

Heidelberg is a beautiful City.
Heidelberg is a beautiful City. You can't visit and have a bad time if you enjoy culture and exploration!
Choosing the right accommodation for you always helps of course but the City itself is enough to lift anyone's spirits.
Of course the castle on the hill was beautiful as you would expect. I knew it would look amazing up there before we went, and still wasn't prepared for how magnificent it was. The views from the castle were so scenic, I facetimed home to show them, which you were able to do up a mountain because there was 5G connection everywhere.
It is one of those places where if you do it right, you get to know the culture and understand it very quickly and immerse yourself in it.
Would highly recommend visiting at Christmas time.

Heidelberg is a beautiful town. I went at Christmas time and the Christmas market was lovely to see. The streets were all decorated in a festive style. The trams are a very good way of getting around.

A visit to Heidelberg castle is a must.
A visit to Heidelberg castle is a must. You can walk up a rather steep cobbled road, or get the funicular railway. Pay into the castle, or walk the grounds for free. The castle is derelict and uninhabited but the majority of the structure still stands. The view from the garden terrace in the grounds looking down the Rhine and over the old town is fabulous. There are plenty of opportunities to walk alongside the river either side of the old bridge. Lots of places to eat from snack bars and bakeries to restaurants and bars. A 2 day visit was ample for us
Location was great. 20 minutes walk to Philsophenweg and 12 minutes to Heidelberg-Altstadt Bahnhof. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Hotel am Schloss is on top of the parking garage. I missed that when booking. Go into the garage and use the elevator! Breakfast was good. I had the Single Business Room which is not very chic, but exactly what I expected for the price I wanted to pay. View from the garden of the Castle is cool. Covid-19 protocols were followed. I appreciated that. I will stay again if I return to Heidelberg.
This hotel is located in the old town of Heidelberg which is wonderful. You can park in public parking nearby, however could not find the area the hotel instructed us to go to, so we had to pay the EUR 19 per 24 hours parking. We had a room on the 4th floor and there is no elevator, so it might be difficult to reach with all your luggage. We had no "blackout" curtains and only a fan. When I booked the hotel I did not check on an elevator or air conditioning, so the surprise was my own fault. Breakfast was fine.
Phenomenal hotel in the heart of Heidelberg on the river. I booked a double room and was given a balcony room when I checked in. AMAZING room! Balcony overlooked the river and was perfect for watching fireworks since I was there on New Years Eve. It also had a huge double window that directly faced the river. Room was HUGE, bathroom was much larger than other bathrooms I've encountered in Germany. Reception, check in, parking, bar, breakfast were ALL excellent. I highly recommend this hotel!! 10-stars!
I went to Heidelberg for a work meeting in the old town, the hotel could not be in a better location, right in the city centre but also in a small narrow street. My room was quiet, clean, comfortable and the wifi worked well, I do not need more for a work trip but would also be good for a touristic visit to Heidelberg.
Compared to other hotels of similar prices I've been to in Heidelberg in other occasions I think this was better.
I did not have breakfast so I cannot say anything about it.
Excellent location, very clean and updated. Bathroom looked like a brand new remodel (I like a hotel with bathtub and shower separated like that). 2 min walk to the action (bars, restaurants, cafes, shops). Staff very friendly and accommodating. Parking onsite (make sure and reserve when you reserve your room). Big room...hardwood floors...very accommodating and comfortable. Will stay again for sure over the Marriott Heidelberg I used to stay at (dated)
There was so much to like....where do I begin? The concierges were friendly...informative...and just basically nice.Rooms 103 and 107 were beautiful....clean...and tastefully decorated...they are the two best hotel rooms in Heidelberg!!! The Breakfast could not have been better. Food was excellent and beautifully displayed. The gentleman in charge worked hard in trying to meet expectations. You must try to keep him forever. Hotel location is exceptional.
Everything. Stayed here before. Its a great hotel. The penthouse suite has a balcony with about 16 sockets (counted them) its one of the best value hotels in Heidelberg. Only thing they dont do breakfast anymore. Something to do with covid. But its great! There's a coffee machine great bed, nice bathroom & balcony, cheaper than most places & fairly near train station. What more could I want? Thanks 7 Days 🙂
For key collection, my phone didn't work, but my daughter was already in Germany and had a German cell phone that worked. However, I noticed after we got the keys the there is a public telephone right outside this apartment location. Louisa was super quick to get over to the apartment and let us in once we contacted her, and if you have to wait, there's a very nice coffee bar downstairs.
This hotel has a great location making it easy to walk to the beautiful river, old town and castle. There are also bus and tram stops close by. The hotel has parking too if you come by car. Breakfast is lovely with a great choice to offer. My room had a beautiful view of Heidelberg being on a high floor. Staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent.stay.
This sweet hotel above a wonderful German restaurant was perfect for a visit to lovely Heidelberg. I enjoyed the geraniums outside my windows and the cobbled street outside the door. We were so close to all the charms of the old city. My husband needed the lift. We were greeted warmly and Dennis was very helpful when I wanted to walk to the castle.
This is a great little hotel on the river, right on the edge of Heidelberg's Old Town. You can walk to all the main sites from the hotel. Breakfast in the historic cellar was very cool. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the staff is very nice. We were even able to check in early.
Good central location in Heidelberg, with public transport closeby. The checkin process using the terminal went smoothly. The room was adequate for a weekend stay and good value for money compared to other hotels in the city.
The view is fantastic and the staff was super nice, fantastic service overall
The hotel is right next to the bus station which made transportation from and to Heidelberg Center really easy!!
Would totally recommend!
Near the Central Train Station, yet not noisy at all. About a 20 minute walk to Old Town. I really enjoyed the free breakfast. Other hotels I stayed at in Germany were charging around €16 to €18.
Location in the Altstadt. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast. The hotel is on the 7th floor of a seven story parking garage. Very convenient. Excellent for a visit to Heidelberg.
Hotel was good, staff was great and welcoming, breakfast was nice, I just loved will certainly be the hotel I will visit if I ever have to go back to Heidelberg
