Autoinflammation 2010 - 6th International Congress on FMF and SAID

It is a pleasure to invite you all to Autoinflammation 2010, the 6th International Conference on Familial Mediterranean Fever and other Autoinflammatory Diseases, which will take place in the city of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on September 2-6, 2010.

Autoinflammation 2010 is the 6th conference in a series that started more than 10 years ago in Jerusalem. The first conference focused primarily on Familial Mediterranean Fever, but soon other hereditary periodic fever syndromes were included. These syndromes were the first to be recognized as autoinflammatory disorders. Recent years have seen an exciting development of scientific knowledge on inflammation and its regulation and these rare disorders have played a major role in this development.

Experts in the field of autoinflammatory disorders, both clinicians and basic scientists, from all over the world will meet in Amsterdam to exchange research results and opinions on clinical practice. The scientific program will include plenary talks, meet-the-expert sessions, interactive workshops and laptop presentations. Topics will range from Familial Mediterranean Fever and the other hereditary autoinflammatory diseases to acquired autoinflammatory disorders such as gout, from pathogenesis and genetics to clinical phenotype and therapy. We also plan to include a one-day programme for patients.

The meeting will be held at the Royal Tropical Institute ( www.kit.nl ), a beautiful location in the centre of Amsterdam. To preserve the informal and intimate character of this conference, there will be a maximum registration of 440 participants. The lively city of Amsterdam will offer ample opportunity for social interaction. Further details will be forthcoming on this conference website.
