Maritime Security & Domain Awareness Conference

  • 30 Sep - 01 Oct, 2009
  • Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, CA, United States

Description

Asymmetric threats such as terrorism, piracy, and transnational crime, as well as the need for greater joint, interagency, and multinational coordination require the development of new operational systems and capacity building . Improved capabilities across a broad range of missions, from transport and commercial security to intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, are needed to ensure broad area, open ocean, coastal and port security; systems interoperability; ship identification, credentialing, and interdiction; and maritime defense communications. Maritime security and domain awareness are so pervasive in scope and depth, they both impact not only our maritime and aviation forces, but also those organizations committed to anti-terrorism and commercial operators of the nation?s ports.
This outstanding conference brings together experts and organizations at the forefront of developing the necessary strategies and technologies to ensure domain awareness goals are met and that persistent protection of US maritime security interests are supported.
  • Where is MDA policy heading, including technologies, operations, and strategies?
  • What are the most current maritime threats and opportunities?
  • What is the road ahead for DoD and DHS programs and initiatives in MARSEC and MDA?
