Piled Foundations Design is a course dedicated to

  • Design soil parameters for pile foundation design (laboratory tests and subsurface exploration procedures)
  • The design and construction of pile foundations
  • Methods of pile foundation design in application subsurface conditions
  • Pile types and soil profiles
  • Soil strength changes in pile foundation design and construction control
  • Group and single capacities of piles to tension, resist compression and lateral loads
  • Allowable stress design and load and resistance factor design methods
  • Pile refusal, pile driveability, minimum and estimated pile toe elevations
  • Consolidation settlement of piled foundations on cohesive soils and cohesionless soils

Piled Foundations Design is suitable for bridge designers, geotechnical engineers, designer, field or laboratory personnel with a background in engineering, consultant review specialists and resident engineers who have passed an undergraduate course in soil mechanics or a GIC course on Soils Engineering.
