The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) 5th Biennial Conference 2012

Humanism in medicine describes relationships between physicians and their patients that are compassionate and respectful. It is reflected in behaviors and attitudes that are sensitive to the autonomy, values, ethnic backgrounds and cultural of others.

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) Biennial Conference is dedicated to achievements and developments of humanism in medicine and its attributes, Integrity, clinical expertise, Compassion, Altruism, Respect, Empathy and Service> The event focuses on strategies of spreading the habit of humanism in medicine, including:

• Identifying, rewarding and promoting exemplary role model/mentors
• Establishing clear expectations and standards early in the educational process
• Providing experiences and opportunities for medical students and residents to understand the patient perspective and to reflect on their role as caregivers

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) Biennial Conference brings together physician trainees and practicing physicians.
