The focus of this conference is to provide instruction in the routine and unique applications of ultrasound in the cancer patient. Presentations, both didactic and practical workshops, will cover a range of organ systems involving a variety of cancers with their respective diagnoses, management, complications and outcomes. Physicians and sonographers will also have an opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations on state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, as well as to interact directly with the faculty.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to
perform a diagnostic ultrasound examination for detection and/or diagnosis of common neoplasms in various organs and tissues;
describe the sonographic findings of commonly encountered cancers in their specific organ settings and related tissues;
describe potential diagnostic, management and interventional methods that can be incorporated into a treatment and management plan for improved patient outcomes; and
adjust machine settings, perform sonography with greater confidence, and optimize sonographic images after participating in workshops on basic imaging and transducer techniques.
