The 2nd MEGMA Conference on Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies 2016 is dedicated to the needs of the thalassaemia and other haemoglobinopathies patients and parents in the region and the challenges of improving the health and quality of life of those affected by haemoglobinopathies.
The 2nd MEGMA Conference on Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies 2016 objectives are:
- Develop the skills and capacities of patients for strengthening their advocacy role for achieving productive participation in decision-making at the national and regional level
- Empower, educate and create core groups of patients in each country to support and strengthen their role in monitoring their own disease
- Develop a core group of expert medical specialists across disciplines relevant to the multidisciplinary care of haemoglobinopathies
- Develop a robust infrastructure for national patients’ associations, making them truly supportive to their patients and their families at the national level
