The birthplace of American independence, Philadelphia was founded in 1682 by William Penn. The name of the city translates to City of Brotherly Love and the city itself is a vibrant mix of history, art and culture.
Philly is famed for its public art with more sculptures and murals than any other city in the USA. Seeing the best graffiti and statues won’t break the bank balance, since you can find many free tours and admire them absolutely free of charge!
It’s also home to many national historical sites with the Independence National Historical Park as a starting point and center for all the major landmarks, including Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Liberty Bell is located, the symbol of the American Revolution.
Visit the world’s largest urban landscaped park, Fairmount Park, with over 17 square miles of green area. There are plenty of paths and hiking trails and after that, enjoy a local cheesesteak sandwich, soft pretzel or some Tastykake snacks.
Arriving at Philadelphia International Airport, you’re just a 20-minute ride from downtown. Booking.com has a variety of hotels in downtown Philly, near the airport or for the sports enthusiasts, near the Wells Fargo Center.
Philly is ok, we were lucky to have good weather. Very nice to know that it is considered a Sanctuary city, many people from different ethnicities around, from different countries and religions. Strangely, we did not feel the brotherly love among the people who live there. In general, they were quite indifferent to visitors, almost unfriendly. It is a walkable city, safe and fairly beautiful.

I’ve stayed there several times and each time I could have stayed longer. It was peaceful and quiet. I would recommend more cookware and larger cookware as in pots and pans. If possible every time I come to Philadelphia that’s where I would stay.
Thanks for the great experience and hospitality.😊😊😊😊

Our stay was far too brief- only overnight.
Our stay was far too brief- only overnight.
We did get to see the Bell and take in a tour of Independence Hall which is a DO NOT MISS experience. It was so uplifting to hear the history presented by a good presenter with a great sense of humor and patriotism in the most genuine way.
Buddakan restaurant was absolutely delicious and reservations are a must as well.
The people we encountered- both staff and regular citizens- were very friendly and helpful. Could not be nicer to us.
Barnes museum is an eccentric curiosity with probably the largest collection of Renoir canvases - ranging from sublime to godawful- on the planet. Nice sprinkling of other Impressionist era work and some other interesting objets.
We had hoped to hit the Reading Market and hear the Wanamaker organ and do the Rocky steps. Another time...

Love Philadelphia ❤️.
Love Philadelphia ❤️. We've been coming every year for 10 years from Seattle to see our daughter who moved here. There is always something new to do. The American history available to explore is fabulous. And an hour away is Amish country which is great fun and a completely different experience.

Our trip was to visit family who live in Northern Philly a lot of eclectic, pubs, and restaurants that are fun to visit, but definitely very “city“. people in the local pubs are very friendly almost a family like feel. our favorite spots were Druids pub in northern liberties and Starbolt restaurant on Front Street
Hotel is located directly next to airport but no shopping or places to eat near by. At least 20 minutes from downtown Philly. Hotel needs to be renovated. Also, Hotel did not have any soap and we only received 1 towel and face clothes per day - had to ask everyday for extra. I brought my own soap and cleaning supplies. We were told they were short staff. Lastly, you will be charged $15 per day for parking. Apparently you can get your parking ticket validated but we were never told this so we end up paying double for parking.
The hotel locate at the center of Philadelphia, easy to travel around with train and bus. Just 5 minutes walk to the Septa train station and the bus station just 2 minutes walk. Dun worry of foods, u can go to reading terminal market to get your food, it is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. I had 5 nights stay in the hotel, room is clean, comfortable bed and pillows. They clean the room every others day. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
This property is very close to the metro and suburban train stops in Center City. The room was modern and had been renovated in the past few years. The hotel is near Reading Terminal Market, City Hall, Love Park, Market Street, and a short bus or metro ride to the Art Museum, Franklin Institute, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, and Independence Mall.
The breakfast selection was excellent! Very happy to have that included. The location was great in the heart of Center City. We were also very happy to have a pool available with friendly hours too. It appeared as one of only four hotels in the city with a pool. It is near so much and plenty of public transportation options nearby.
awesome location in the heart of downtown Philly. the hotel itself is very hip and had two restaurants, one on the entry level which was bustling when I arrived and a rooftop bar that has awesome views. the modern Mexican feel to the theming reminded me a lot of my recent stay in Tulum.
A little sketchy at first, but once through the door, it was very easy to feel at home! Everything from the cleanliness, theme and decor, lighting, and amenities is amazing. I'll be choosing this stay over a hotel any day. It's about a $10 Uber ride to Center City, which was amazing!
The apartment was a lovely space with great social space and comfortable bedroom spaces. Lots of windows and lights, plus modern decor. The hotel is a really fun, old building to stay in. The location is decent and proximal to Center City by rideshare/car or train.
The hotel staff, from desk clerks to housekeeping, were all friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast bar offered delicious food and beverages. The hotel is located within walking distance of downtown and the historic district.
The front desk staff - exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and present. You can't get this kind of service at the hotels in Center City. They even made popcorn and offered us each a bottle of water. Clean hotel at a great price.
Amazing location in Philadelphia, right in the heart of South Street. The rooms were immaculate and clean. My favorite part about the stay was the comfort of the beds - one of the best sleeps I've gotten in a hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay in Philadelphia and the hotel was everything we expected. Friendly, comfortable and in a lovely area and very easy to get to the historical district. Highly recommend staying here!
The location of the hotel is excellent. It is located right in the historic center of Philadelphia. We received a warm welcome. The warm peanut cookies specially made by the hotel owner were very tasty.
The hotel is well sited at the heart of Philadelphia close to Reading Terminal Market and easy reach of the main sites of the city. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
Good airport to hotel shuttle bus. Staff were pleasant but very slow. Great location for airport and Financial Field Stadium. Plus a close bus stop to get into Philadelphia city centre.
