The filtered water was great! I liked all the art, and artist bios. I liked the attention to details, like having a black make-up removal washcloth - which makes so much sense! The towels were nice and fluffy, too. The French press coffee was excellent.

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.
We were essentially visiting old friends. We did some exploring of downtown. Granville Market, crowded, but it was a Saturday. The best thing we found was the public transit system. Their daily compass card was a bargain as it allowed us multiple trips including the water bus between Vancouver and North Vancouver. A restaurant bar to not be missed is Rogue Kitcen and Wet Bar 601 Cordoba St in Gastown area. The food court at City Center Market is wonderful. Looking forward to a trip there in the future, again.

I love the view of mountains and water in Vancouver.
I love the view of mountains and water in Vancouver. Lots of areas to visit, and lots of places to visit for eating. The gardens are really pretty. Taking ferries to get to various areas is a great way of transport. I would recommend to stay possibly on Vancouver Island or set off really early, as we hit traffic getting to Twassen so had to wait another hour for next ferry. Enjoyed what we did though.

A great city for walking, clean and well designed, loved the library and small contemporary art gallery near Yaletown. Vancouver playhouse only steps away from our hotel. We also found a tasty ice cream shop.

Vancouver has one of the best city settings that I have seen...
Vancouver has one of the best city settings that I have seen in my life. The combination of water and mountains surrounding the city is unbeatable, every time you walk out of the hotel you can see some new angles and awesome views. The city itself is OK, I walked a fair bit around it, but I found it a bit confusing. Like shopping options - personally I have found them very limited and only after I reached Park Royal shopping centre in West Vancouver I found more varied options. Definitely the highlights for me in the city were: Granville Island, Rogers Arena (or seeing a live hockey game, to be precise), Seawall and Gastown had its charm too. If I would visit Vancouver again, I would definitely plan more activities around the town than inside it. Things that I definitely did not enjoy about it was tremendous amount of constant noise from all directions, amount of car traffic everywhere, loads of homeless people and very visible drug users all around city centre. If you have time during your Vancouver visit, go and drive to place like Squamish, it's only an hour away from the city but it's much calmer, quieter and greener. Also I could not recommend more booking a whale watching trip (mine was with Price of Whales), it's worth every penny. Overall, surroundings of the city made bigger impression on me than city itself, but definitely a place worth visiting at least once.

Walk the area, go up the observation tower, cycle Stanley Park (hiring is easy and cheap) visit Capilano Suspension Bridge, walk around the waterfront and Coal Harbour, get a lazy lunch at Joeys watching a game, go see the Canucks at Rogers Arena. All done in 2 full days but lots more to do no doubt

My granddaughter and I got to the hotel just as the restaurant was closing, the hotel staff let me know that McDonald's restaurant was within walking distance. Also the hotel held our luggage for the day so we could take the sky train and shop in downtown Vancouver. Once again the staff let us know how to get to the B.C. Ferries using public transportation. Travelling is tuff and expensive, so I like to have chooses. Thank you, Celia
The best thing about the location is that it's a 5-minute walk from the Oakridge Skytrain station, which is on the same line as serves the airport and the Richmond night market, and continues to the center of the city to connect to Yaletown, Granville District and Waterfront station - so easy access to North Vancouver and Stanley Park. Mike, the guesthouse was gracious and helpful. The house is very quiet and the neighborhood feels suburban and safe. Parking on the street outside the house was not a problem.
A beautiful property in downtown Vancouver, BC. The hotel and rooms are immaculate and rooms are equipped with everything one would need while traveling. Extra large bathroom with large showers and soaking tubs is such a plus. The beds were so comfortable and our king deluxe room had a living room with sofa and chairs and of course, a large screen TV. Excellent service all around with a concierge in the lobby to assist with anything. *****+
This was the best location we could have asked for while visiting Vancouver for a few days. The hotel room was immaculate and very clean. Our only complaint was that a lot of water spills out of the shower door during/after showering meaning a wet bathroom floor, however housekeeping ensured we always had an adequate number of fresh towels available so it wasn’t really an issue. I appreciated the coffee machine and water bottle refills.
Very good downtown Vancouver hotel with a prime location right on Robson Street. There's shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, convenience and liquor stores all located within easy walking distance. Our room with two queen beds on the 20th floor was very comfortable and nicely sized. There is a daily charge for parking but the rate is one of the cheaper rates when compared to other downtown hotels.
Location in downtown Vancouver is fantastic. Food: bakeries, green grocers, restaurants, coffee shops! Activities and sites! Easy public transit.
Rooftop patio was delightful. We could BBQ dinner and enjoy the evening air, our family time, as well as post-dinner conversations with other hotel guests/travelers.
Suites are comfortable, cozy. Seems each suite is unique. Secure.
Maybe a little pricey for what it is (although it is Vancouver after all) but if you’re looking for a “cheaper” place to stay that is pretty well located, this is really good. Walking distance from waterfront and aquataxi, small but cute rooms and fun rooftop patio area. Also right beside a little pho restaurant that had the best spring rolls I’ve ever had
Great hotel with great position in Downtown Vancouver. Easy to walk everywhere, subway to the airport or everywhere else a few minutes from the hotel. Great thing that there is a small kitchen in the room with a fridge and a few dishes, plates etc.. Next time I'm coming to Vancouver, I will choose this hotel again.
The Sylvia is an iconic landmark in Vancouver that reminds one of its long history in the area. It is not as modern in its decor as some downtown hotels, but for us that is part of its charm. It was clean, quiet and close to wonderful English Bay. It was great to finally stay there, even for one night.
Very good hotel, the beds were super comfortable, spacious and clean. They only have suites and look very stylish inside. Good value for money. The location was good, 5 minutes away from Waterfront metro station and Downtown and about 30 minutes to the airport. Would recommend.
We always love the ease of this hotel; friendly staff, cute outdoor activities and lounge area. Rooms are always clean and bed is comfy! It's easy walking distance from most everything downtown Vancouver and has great parking if you do need to bring a vehicle!
Staff was good
Room was good
Breakfast was good
Location was good
from Vancouver Airport to take skytrain to waterfront and then take bus R5 to Renfrew st outside of petrolpump and hotel was infront of petrolpump.
Overall everything was good
Clean, easily accessible to the rest of Vancouver on foot and on bike. Smaller, older hotel, but did not have any issues. Well within our budget, unlike hotels closer to downtown. The exercise room downstairs was much more than expected!
Great location on Robson St. in the heart of Downtown Vancouver central to all the major shopping stores and food. Hotel staff were friendly, and attentive. The kids love the pool and we enjoyed breakfast daily at Abode in the hotel.
In a great location that was walkable most areas in downtown Vancouver, had a lovely and very helpful staff, and was able to check-in quite early! Also has a paid parking lot under the hotel ($50 a day).
Luxurious hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Friendly staff, comfortable room, modern design and finishes. Complimentary turndown service is a nice touch.
The location in downtown Vancouver was lovely, and the decor/atmostphere of the hotel was very tasteful. The quality of food in the restaurant was very good.
