It was a well worth the cost and even more than what was expected. The facilities and staff were awesome. Everyone was very courteous and friendly, from the security at the entrance to the desk staff and the support staff. We felt welcomed and well cared for. Their breakfast was great and the restaurant serves really delicious food. Cocktails and drinks were great as well.

I stayed with family menbers and they had a nice thatched room.
As I said, my opinion is that we were accommodated in the old gardener/gate security guard's facility because it is situated right at the gate
The loadshedding in RSA contribute 100% to make your stay terrible

Our purpose for traveling to Midrand was to visit family and grandchildren, not especially to see the sights. However, there were two places in addition to the house where we were visiting our family that we really enjoyed:
There was a Natural Wildlife and Bird reserve with walking trails and a lake, picnic tables, shelters, and facilities to make it pleasant and comfortable.
And the Mall of South Africa is not just a mall. It has both outdoor and indoor play areas for children, fountains to splash in, and amusement park type rides, (which weren't running on the days we were there), in addition to all the food and shops you would expect at a mall. And South Africa is very inexpensive for those coming from the UK, the USA, and Europe, so you can eat out, a really good meal, for the cost of the groceries for preparing it yourself back at home.

Place is relatively safe, even business and shopping at mall of africa there were no hustles.many places to eat around,we had spurs, nandos and debonairs pizza which was ok.we really didnt have time to see the other restaurants around maybe the next time we visit.getting around was quite easy with the ubers,we even went to woodmead value mart the other day with no stress. Only regrets were on accomodation as our host wasnt as helpful, will surely avoid it next time. otherwise the trip was a success.
This hotel is run poorly, The rooms are dated and very small especially for the price you pay for one of the biggest rooms. The fridge did not work, the bathroom did not have enough towels, there were spider webs everywhere in the room. The bathroom had a horrible stench which made us gag every time we walked in. The breakfast was sub standard, and breakfast was cold. I had high expectations for a Protea hotel, but will not ever be staying at this hotel again.
Professional behavior of staff. Rooms and hotel exceptionally clean. I actually moved from another accomodation which was rated higher but I was highly disappointed and the Mecure was such a pleasant surprise. Rooms have everything you need. Staff is super friendly and go above and beyond to meet your needs. Beds extremely comfortable. Reminds me of an old English hotel.
Every time we experience one and the same problems.
1. Plugs are not working
2. The code for the iron is too short & making it difficult to iron
Or it not working at all
3. The facility needs maintenance/ renovation as it is a four star hotel..
4. Carpet floor to be maintained .
5. Old air-conditioner
Staff is good
The restaurant is good 👍
Very modern design with smart home facilities.
Very clean.
It’s more like an apartment fully equipped for a stay somewhere else experience, rather than a hotel.
The staff are brilliant, very helpful, very polite and very efficient, trying their best to fulfill all the requirements for your happy staying.
The rooms have good space, are super clean and the property is close to great amenities. Checking in and out was a breeze and the host was fantastic and always ready to help. I'd recommend anyone travelling to Midrand to consider staying here for both short and long term stays.
I booked this hotel for my parents and they loved every minute. It's a hidden gem in the middle of a city. They said the breakfasts were great and the location was great too. The bonus was the shuttle of that takes you to and from the Mall of Africa.
Very spacious and clean. Extremely comfortable. Well furnished with everything you need for short and long term stays. Owner has curated the apartment well, it feels so cozy. Quality linen and towels. And all the toiletries you’d find at a hotel.
Very tidy and lovely Guest House equipped with everything you need. A good bed and nice bathroom. The front desk lady is a great host and there when you need her, Very nice and wants to share all she know about the area. We had a great stay!
The reception was good and welcoming, especially Solly was there for me. Room was gorgeous and excellent clean with fresh smell. It will still be my next home again and I will recommend others to stay at this hotel👌💯
Mercy is such a wonderful and and an awesome mum. She does everything on point and shes really good with the customers.we love to come back again. God bless her for her kind heart. I love Midrand
There's nothing I liked, I even left before a day of check out. Our car almost got stolen around the area... It was just bad experience for us. Mercure in midrand, nothing to like about.
I love the location of the hotel and the staff are super friendly and very accommodating. I am yet to have a bad experience at this hotel. I hope they keep up the good work.
