Rotterdam is a good base to stay to visit the south west side of Netherlands. Very very windy city tho... the winds could move my travel stroller even w my baby in it, lol.
We completed Rotterdam in a day, with a visit to the maritime museum. Markthall is pretty, but thats about it. We enjoyed Denhague a lot.

We were there for the marathon, but we could visit a little bit of the city.
It is a very interesting city from an architectural point of view. Old is mixed with new and the new buildings are mostly very special.

Overall the city of Rotterdam, is very easy to get around as there is a great transport network there. Unless you are traveling very late at night or very early in the morning the frequency of the buses, metro and trams is very good. There are lots of places to eat and drink. If you just want to sample a few places then I would recommend going on a food and drink tour (There are lots of different tours you can do in Rotterdam) One of the best ways to see Rotterdam city center is by bike. If you are looking to see the city as a whole then I would recommend the metro. Rotterdam has lots to offer. This includes various bike and walking tours, markets, museum's, Zoo's and Architecture

I really enjoyed my stay in Rotterdam.
I really enjoyed my stay in Rotterdam. The city it has a lot of fantastic modern architecture, not just the famous cube houses but a number of other interesting and quirky buildings. It also has an older historical area (Historic Delfshaven) that is very typically Dutch. I used Rotterdam as a convenient base to visit both Amsterdam and Delft, if I return I would also like to visit Haarlem and some of the other smaller cities nearby as the train and tram systems are so convenient and cheap. My only reservation was that it was a little tricky to find gluten-free foods especially at lunch time, but I managed just fine!

I chose Rotterdam as a good base to see several towns in the region. But in hindsight, I would not do this again and would not recommend it. It's not a destination city. Yes, some cool architecture, but also tons of ugly buildings and generic shopping. If I had it to do over again, I would have booked those 6 nights in Leiden, which we loved!

Good city to visit, an hour by train from Amsterdam.
Good city to visit, an hour by train from Amsterdam. Not overrun with tourists, friendly locals who nearly all speak good English, so no problem making yourself understood. Lots of interesting architecture, nice coffee places with pastries and cookies available, Dutch apple tart a speciality.
The hotel is very modern, even the check-in is very unusual. You will do everything yourself)) as there is no such concierge, you go through the whole procedure on your own. The rooms are small but comfortable, also equipped with modern gadgets, smart home systems, etc. It should also be noted the design of the interior space and of course the location, it is surrounded by the most iconic buildings of Rotterdam as well as canals with yachts and ships
The owner/ staff was really nice, and friendly. He helped us to check in after the reception was closed, as they didn't have 24 hr reception. The room was really clean, comfortable and had hot cattle, coffee and tea. The hotel is very close to the Central Station, where you have a metro/tram/bus to go around the City or you can even walk towards the city centre. Overall it was a good experience and I will Highly recommend this place in Rotterdam.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful; I had the impression they really cared about guests and helping them have a good time in Rotterdam. They handled a small tech problem caused by my current adapter with good humor and efficiency. Breakfast was ample and varied, served in a pleasant cafe area. My room was comfortable and (except for footsteps overhead) quiet. The hotel has a hip, designed vibe without being exclusive.
Really nice concept and one of the better executed out of the capsule hotels I've stayed at. It is around 20 mins walk from Rotterdam central station. Staff were really helpful when I had issue with the booking and there were lots of facilities. Noise was a bit bad at 3am but expected for a hostel after all. If it was a bit more central I would stay here again but still enjoyed the stay overall.
Quite a pleasant and well-maintained hotel. The room is very spacious, and the Wi-Fi is consistently stable. While the hotel is not in the city center, its location is excellent considering Rotterdam is a small, highly cyclable city with excellent transportation services. It's a great choice to escape the hustle and bustle of the center. The surroundings are calm and safe.
Really cool concept—it looks like a dorm but feels like micro hotel rooms (lockable doors, quiet). I hope it becomes more popular elsewhere! Staff are great and there is a social area (like in a hostel) so you can also meet other guests. WiFi is great, don't worry. Location is an easy 15-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal, and there's a tram stop really close anyway.
Strategically located in the heart of Rotterdam, this family owned boutique hotel is a real gem. It was wonderfully refurbished with a great taste and effort but it has an interesting story as well, being the place where Mr. Pincoff had his office and his vault. The rooms are voluminous and very luxurious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dank u!
Amazing place to stay in Rotterdam. Very well located in the center of the city (Beurs). Everything is walking distance, and it's very close to an Albert Hein (supermarket) where you can get groceries for breakfast, dinner or appetizers. The apartments are well equipped and the views are stunning. They have paid parking and welcome coffee.
The beds were comfortable, rooms are well-protected by using keycards and the rooms themselves were clean as well. You could use your keycard in order to enable electricity in the room which was a treat to witness. The hotel itself is also in the middle of Rotterdam, so you can get to your famous sights and attractions quickly.
Absolutely brilliant hotel. My 10yr old and I loved the vibrancy of the place. Great art throughout, super friendly staff and comfy & quiet room. All within a 5min walk from Central Station and walking distance to many fantastic sights in Rotterdam. Loved the little bonus of fresh coffee outside the rooms.
The hotel is in a good position, very near to the central station and from it is possible to walk to the city centrum in about 15 minutes. The price is high for the offer, but lower compared to the average in the Netherlands. The breakfast was acceptable.
The apartment has a great value for money, silent bedroom, right next the Zuidplein Metro station and 5 minutes from AHOY exibition centre, super markets and restaurants just at 2 minutes walk. it takes 15 minutes with metro to get to the city center.
Well located in the middle of Rotterdam. The staff are very helpful and give you tips where to visit or eat nicely in the Centrum. The maids were also very friendly. The Hotel looks very luxurious but it's worth the prize.
- Hotel design
- Soundproof and good bed / interior design
- Good facilities
- Good location, close to landmarks, restaurants and 20minutes walking from Rotterdam Centraal train station.
- Good breakfast (15 euros)
The hotel is located right in the center of Rotterdam within short walking distance from the station. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a small bar downstairs to catch the last drink of the day.
I have really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Breitner, very close to metro, tram and the Rotterdam centraal, moreover, to the shopping places and the supermarkets. Very quiet, clean and the staff is so friendly.
