We visited many places that allowed us to become acquainted with the local people, culture and customs, Buddhism, Hinduism, and the differences with the Western culture.
The people in Kathmandu and in general, in Nepal, are kind, accommodating, and humble.

Kathmandu is a very busy city.
Kathmandu is a very busy city. As it was our first time in Nepal, we decided to stay in Kathmandu instead of flying to other touristy places like Pokhara. And we didn't regret the decision. We enjoyed the trip and the overall experience was amazing. Hopefully we can go back there again and explore other cities. Nepal has a very rich history, it's amazing.

Nepal is my second home, so to speak! I always feel so happy whenever I come to Nepal. I met and connected with people when I first arrived in 2017 and they have now become family.
Great places to explore, take in the culture, the sights and the amazing food.

I love the people of Nepal ,the whole culture and jatras and festivals . Pollution and dust is the only thing I don't like about Kathmandu.

Stay away from Kathmandu especially Thamel if you can, it is...
Stay away from Kathmandu especially Thamel if you can, it is noisy, polluted, dirty. As pedestrian you share the narrow alleys with hundreds of Nepalese scooter and motorbikes riders, who drive dangerously passed you, without a care about your safety. I recommend to wear masks if you don't want your lung to be filled with hazardous smog. There is an app called AirVisual which tells you how bad the air quality is in and around Kathmandu. I recommend to stay as little in Kathmandu as possible, take a taxi or bus to Bhaktapur and use it as your base instead! It has beautiful sights of historical temples walking distance away, is less overrun by scooters and hotels are very nice and are cheaper, food is delicious: try the local highly praised juju dhau (yoghurt type dessert), souvenirs are higher quality and cheaper.
It was very nice hotel, for me one of the best in Khatmandu! Everything was perfect, rooms were very clean, very delicious breakfast, also other meal was very tasty. There is beautiful terrace where you can drink coffee or eat your meal in calm place that is very rare in Thamel. Calm location was for me one of the best benefit because you are just a few steps from the center and also it is nice and quiet place. Personal is also very helpful and nice. Nothing is problem. If I will be in Khatmandu again, its gonna be my choice number one. :)
This is a great place to stay in Kathmandu. The hotel is newly-opened after having been closed for several years. The style is traditional but in no way outdated. The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming of all requests; I have never been taken care of as nicely as I was here. The best part about this hotel is the garden, which is a place of complete tranquility even though it is in notoriously busy Thamel. Increbile value for money for my stay. Thank you to Khagendra and his staff-members for their lovely attitude.
As it was my time visiting Kathmandu and I just easy choose this hotel from booking.com,The hotel is conveniently located at the heart of thamel which makes easy transportation, easy and comfortable shopping and will find food, scenics sports all nearby. It is definitely a boutique hotel which got lot of tradition and which is enriched with all modern amenities. As we have just spend one night in here which was really luxurious and memorable that we would surely like to choose the same hotel for next time.
It was one of my best stay experience abroad. The hotel is in the middle of the main attraction of Kathmandu, Thamel. Surrounded by thousands of shops, cool restaurants lounges.
Super clean, neat, always on time staff, specially the management Thakur Dhital, Baburam ji, Sandesh and other lovely people always happy to help us out for anything we needed.
Such a lovely host. Highly recommended! The view from the roof is so cool too. 😎😇🍻
This is the third time I stayed in this hotel because their budget private rooms are the best deal I could find in Thamel district. I used to pay almost the same for a bed in shared dorms in hostels but after I found this place it’s a no brainer just get their budget private room with private bathroom and you will probably have much better sleep and privacy. Also the balcony style access to the rooms are kind of nice
on arrival to kathmandu there was a pick up from airport for guests that booked through booking.com(thanks for booking.com)
location was great although alittle bit away from center but surroundings were full of good restaurants and staff were very helpful to call taxi
very clean and finally the best points for this hotel will be for staff! very kind, gentle and helpful
I wish them all luck
The hotel is in a calm location, still very close to Thamel tourist attractions. Friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious with lot of options to chose. The manager Tulsi and the lady receptionist was very helpful in sorting out any queries during the stay. Some of my friends are planning to visit Kathmandu soon and would definitely recommend this hotel to them.
this is the best value of money for staying here, new towel ,new mattress, new blanket and all clean like Japanese hotel, good toilet but little dirty inside the basin, there are several food shops around the hotel ,inside the room is quiet and no air pollution,13 times to visit Kathmandu and this hotel is the best of all staying with the budget
Such a warm and welcoming hotel, a lovely family run establishment. The breakfast was great, Mina and the staff made sure we had what we liked and how we liked it! Best sunnyside fried eggs -perfect! Our first time to Kathmandu and couldn't have asked for a better place, a little out from the Thamel tourist drag, which suited us just fine.
Had a wonderful stay at the KTM Valley. The service was excellent and more importantly its a pre opening hotel, so everything you find is new, the location was up to the best as tourists attractions such as durbar marg and thamel was so near at walkable distance. I would definitely come back again.
It’s an average hotel for Nepal. Personnel was super nice and the room was comfortable. Nothing special. Shower was hot and that is a plus here for sure! The location not the best in an alley with no exit but near the busy streets of Thamel. Nothing bad just nothing extraordinary about it.
The Thamel Grand Hotel was in a great location. The rooms looked just as they were advertised. I really feel like a got a great deal. However, the best part was the staff. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. They made me feel welcomed 100 percent!
The staff is very welcoming, the sunset is amazing through the 5th floor, the place is secure, in the best place in Thamel area, close to nightlife and shopping, room very clean and spacious, services at the hotel excellent.
One of the best hotels in Kathmandu. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially the Hotel manager is a gem. This is a lovely place to stay when you are on holiday in Nepal.
Hotel Buddha in the heart of Themel with good hospitality, very friendly staff, delicious food and clean room. I realy recommend this hotel in 3 star range in Thamel, Kathmandu.
