This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The foyer is so beautiful and the staff at check in were friendly and professional. Our room was magnificent and all the inclusions ie coffee machine, toiletries, complimentary reusable water bottles, were outstanding. The rooftop bar was also amazing with incredible staff.

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded by water on 3 sides, the city's spread over steep hills that make for great photo ops. And none better than the zig-zag Lombard Street, seen in many a film. Even more famous are San Fran's iconic trolleys climbing the hills – a little touristy, but still worth a ride.
In the middle of the bay, Alcatraz island is known for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t go inside, the views of the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere is life in San Francisco more laid-back than on the Pacific beaches. Rent a bike and head out there, passing through the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. Don't miss the clam chowder served in bread bowls! Chinatown also has a great selection of mid-range restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want a more independent stay in apartments, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something for everyone. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here!

I am not much of a city person, but I had to visit San Francisco to do some Visa work. It’s very easy to get around, locals are helpful, and the “Downtown” Is not congested. I was amazed at the cleanliness of the area I stayed in and how the neighbourhoods are decorated and gardens planted by the residents. There are some seedy areas, but if you avoid these, you have plenty of nice areas and fun things to do. The ambience and architecture remind me of southern Europe. I was warned about the rain, but I had 4 days of clear skies. It was May, but cooler than I expected, and windy. I would have been more comfortable with a hooded coat. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual, and friendly.

My favorite city in the USA.
My favorite city in the USA. I do recommend to visit this city if you're an adventurous traveler, with deep respect to local culture and customs. Great place to enjoy a great variety of interesting attractions: forest, ocean, city, small towns, in a state that leads efforts to mitigate the climate change and improve the air quality.
San Francisco and Sausalito... always in my bucket list

San Francisco isn't a real place with real people.
San Francisco isn't a real place with real people. It is there to run game on the working class and scam people out of their youth. It is the most expensive city on earth. At any given moment residents are outnumbered by tourists and homeless. Don't be a sucker.

The mindset in San Francisco is centered on growth and paying it forward!
It is a lovely historic building, very close to the cable car first stop and the union square. The immediate area around the hotel is quite nice.
The hotel is overall a bit old, but it is normal given that it is a historical building and the hotel has been there for a while. Overall it is refurbished enough so that everything looks nice and functions really well. Overall, I found the building really charming and I was happy with the refurbishment quality.
It looked and was very clean. The king bed was very comfortable.
first of all was greeted by the owner, who was so lovely, made me feel very welcome, advised on how to best spend my few days in san francisco, gave me map, advise what to do and where not to go. The room was very clean, quiet and felt warm (in a good way). shared bathroom and toilet were very clean and not too many people sharing with. The hotel was 10 min walk to Union square and just slightly more to the closest train station (there direct train to the airport) so very easy commute.
The room was roomy enough, had a comfortable bed, nice shower amenities and the location of the hotel is great! Close to Union Square, lots of good restaurants (Matador - Mexican, Pinecrest - 24hr diner) and bars (John Foley's, The Irish Bank, Zombie Village). Loved the Beat Generation vibe of the hotel and the cool decorations and quotes around the room, hallways and lobby area. PLUS the attached BlueStone Coffee shop has a great cold brew!
The location of the hotel is great! It's right next to Chinatown and Union Square, and a short walk to the BART. The area felt reasonably safe, even at night. It's very clean & quiet, the room/bathroom is nice, and the beds are very comfortable. WiFi is free and good, A/C works well. The staff was very nice and friendly. I was also able to check in early which was really nice. Overall it was a great stay and I'd definitely stay here again!
There is nothing good to say about the hotel, the rooms are tired and worn, the restaurant for breakfast was dreadful, the location is “crime central” the location is no fault of the hotel but if your staying in Union Square at any hotel you are just a few metres from Tenderloin, if you don’t know this area it’s city centre drug crime and homeless area a total disgrace to America.
The hotel is very centrally located right in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Union Square, the Embarcadero and Chinatown are all within walking distance. I love the happy hour from 5 to 6 pm in the hotel every day where guests are able to enjoy a nice glass of wine. Staff were very friendly and helpful and they gave me a room on a higher floor with nice views of the city.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good communication with them through booking.com before we arrived.
Hotel is a little dated, but really clean and comfortable. Beds were excellent.
Lovely breakfast served in a relaxed breakfast area.
Location is close to Chinatown and Union Square.
Was also great value for money. Would recommend!!
The hotel is very conveniently located in downtown SF, as it close to Union Square and is 100 m away from the Powell Metro station from which the airports (I flew to/from SFO, but this is true also for OAK) can be easily reached. The room was small, but comfortable. There is no breakfast service, but coffè is available in the morning.
This place has a very cozy vibe especially considering the area that attend is not that great. But they can't change that. they can control what they have inside, and they do a great job Every time I'm here. As far as best Bang for your buck when it comes To hotel rooms in San Francisco. This is it definitely
Near Union Square, Powell station and the cable cars, that's great!
Very cosy, clean and cool hotel
Great restaurants nearby
Angela, Vivian, Danielle and George are the best!!
There's coffee, tea and pastries every morning; we pay for it in amenities fees, but it is great to have it
Amazing new hotel close to Union Square. Beautiful and modern rooms, great gym, coffee shop and restaurant with excellent food. Tim was absolutely amazing, always extremely kind, efficient and helpful. Nevertheless I can only recommend this place to anyone visiting San Francisco!
It was an exceptional stay, the hotel is located right next to the Union square which is great if you’re planning to use the public transport. Though the hotel is in the downtown, the nearby area feels quite calm and safe. The staff was super friendly and willing to help.
Quite a nice little find in San Francisco Union Square area. It's like a French pension transplanted into the city, with all the charm and coziness you'd expect from a pension, including some rooms with gas fireplaces and a cozy breakfast area in the lower floor.
The hotel was in a great location just a couple of blocks from Union Square and central San Francisco with lots of restaurant options really close by. Our room was a great size, the bathroom was very modern and the slightly separate tea/coffee area was useful.
This hotel is perfectly located near Union Square. We loved our room and the view over skyscrapers and the bay. The pool is quite big for a downtown hotel, the gym as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. We felt very well taken care of. We will be back.
Great value. The hotel and our room were clean. It was an older hotel but kept up nicely. It was on the border of Union Square and an area known for not being particularly nice, but we always felt safe. It was a great value for the price.
location is superb, walking distance to union square, westfield mall and close to cable car stop, staff is very warm, room is spacious, amenities are complete, comfortable bed, clean room, best view for nob hill area.
Very polite staff, the room and bathroom where clean. There is also free breakfast at the hotel; not the best one, but at least there is. The position is Excellent! It's just around the corner from union square.
The location of the hotel is great. Next to Union Square, next to the subway (BART), cable car and bus stops. There are a couple of grocery stores and many restaurants and coffee shops in the area.
