Nice solid hotel to stay for a night or two and visit Avila, friendly staff, and I have nothing to complain. Visitors can park their cars nearby for free or for an additional fee in the hotel garage. A few steps away from the famous Cuatro Postes viewpoint. Not really far from the city walls if you like to walk.

This quiet hotel is only 5 minutes from historic downtown Avila. The staff were welcoming and the rooms very clean. The hotel restaurant gets lively at night. Food was good and coffee great. Indoor parking was very appreciated. The day we arrived we were entertained by a local tradition / spontaneous calle pasada (?) (group of young people pub crawling with marching band instruments). Great energy!

When viewed against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, Ávila is truly a spectacular sight. Its fully intact walls rise majestically from a hill, and the many semi-circular towers and 9 gates give it added character. Begun in the 11th century, these incredible fortifications are the symbol of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city.
Partly built into the walls are the rather fortress-like cathedral and the Convent of Saint Teresa, erected in honour of the saint whose childhood was spent in a house on the same spot. Her relics are here, making it a popular pilgrimage spot. The city’s biggest festival is also in her honour and includes a colourful parade, fireworks and fights in the bullring.
Teresa entered the Incarnation Convent in Ávila, but found herself at odds with the practices, so founded a new monastery: the Convent of Saint Joseph. Of the city’s other religious structures, the Royal Monastery of Saint Thomas is particularly of note as it contains the tomb of Don Juan, son of King Fernando.
Other Ávila sights include the Torreón de los Guzmanes - a tower attached to the provincial council headquarters – and the Four Columns monument which offers fabulous city views.
The Ávila accommodation on Booking.com includes boutique hotels, traditional guest houses and cheap apartments near the train station.

Spent three nights at Le Vintage over Palm Sunday weekend and was glad I did. Avila is an historic, walled town and best not rushed through on a day trip from Madrid. Le Vintage was the PERFECT location with my room facing the street so I got to see all of the action/processions on the Saturday before Palm Sunday and then again on Holy Monday.

Impressive walls are surrounding the city and invite for a nice walk.
April seems the right moment to visit it. In summertime it may get very hot. The Sofraga Palacio Hotel is the best option to stay we think.

Avila is quite nice for sightseeing.
Avila is quite nice for sightseeing. My problem is with the food industry. We are vegan and the options for us to eat were poor at best. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food represented as vegan to us was very poor quality, even at nicer restauraunts.

There is almost 2 miles of beautiful ancient city walls holding many interesting old residential structures accessible by small hilly alleys. As the streets are hilly so tourists need to have some comfortable walking shoes to explore the surrounding.

Avila got its unesco status because of its fortress wall and well deserved too. Wish we could walk on its parapet/battlement all the way round.
We ate all our meals at restaurants inside the wall like a lot of other tourists. If you can find fartons for breakfast, they are incredibly cheap and deliciously fresh.
I wish we were better informed by the tourist information centre (on same site as our hotel) about the Heullas Teresa de Jesus pilgrimage and be given a booklet to be stamped for our visit (as like for camino).
Beautiful boutique hotel inside and outside. The room we had was very comfortable, clean and with everything we needed. Location in Avila and bordering the old city wall is great and just a few minutes walk to all the museums, churches, restaurants…..Saving the best for last - the staff, everyone - was friendly, engaging and went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. La Casa was the highlight of our Avila visit.
PS Really enjoyed the pool and gardens.
The staff speaks English (finally somebody), despite late hour of our arrival they were kind. Organization of accommodation was perfect - we did online check-in and received code to our room. Bed comfortable, bathroom great, everything clean a now-looking. Hotel like middle-age palace style, surrounded by city walls in Avila. Parking is not so easy in close surrounding, but in walking distance (10 min) we found some public parking.
Really lovely little hotel. Great parking in the owners garage for our motorbikes. Hotel is clean and comfy. The major plus about this hotel is its location! Right on the walls of the walled city of Avila. This place is a hidden gem. Its stunningly beautiful and the people couldn't do enough for you. Had the best two days there and we will definitely return.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
Superb staff gave us a warm welcome on a cold windy day in the walled city of Ávila. Hotel has lots of character and provenance. The sense of history is everywhere - none less so than this hotel which was once home to Spain's first democratic president. We were given a free upgrade and the room was delightful in every respect. Breakfast was especially nice. Full marks ... Enhorabuena !
I liked the location of the hotel. It is exactly in the old town of Avila. If you like to immerse your heart in vintage life and experience the beauty of the Middle Ages, stay here. if you are looking for comfort and a hotel with a modern interior and all inclusive, it is better to stay somewhere outside the old city. The staff are very welcoming and polite. Highly recommended.
This hotel is spectacularly beautiful, all very well decorated, without a doubt reminiscent of being in a Palace. Its location within the walls of Avila and in front of the Cathedral is something wonderful. We had the opportunity to have tapas at the Restaurant and it was delicious. A very affordable price for such a magnificent place.
The location within the walls of Avila is superb. You can leave your car just outside the wall in a public parking.
Just outside the hotel there is a supermarket. Recommend a walk outside the walls in het evening when they're all lit.
Unlike many touristic towns i visited, Avila 'lives' between its walls, like it.
Perfect location to explore Avila and the parking possibility is a great plus. The hotel is tastefully renovated and the bed is comfy. We felt like a light meal the night we stayed and the bistro in the garden is perfect for that. The lady at reception is very friendly so are the staff at restaurant.
My son and I had to leave earlier than breakfast would be served in the morning, and the hotel staff was happy to give us bags or boxes to bring up to our room so we could eat before checking out. Additionally, the staff recommended a good restaurant for our dinner the previous evening.
Positioned 5km outside of the stunning old town of Avila with great views over to the town.
Our 2nd year at this hotel. Will happily come again next year
Only 5hrsish from /to Santander.
Totally dog friendly. With plenty of accessible outside space to walk him.
Avila has a beautiful old town well worth visiting. The romanesque/ gothic cathedral is a masterpiece. We enjoyed the warren of medieval streets and atmosphere withing the old town walls. Definitely deserves its designation as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Very clean comfy room. Bed very comfortable. Staff English speaking and friendly. Hotel bar and Restaurant very good and no more expensive than Avila town cafes/restaurants. Parking underground next door.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms and beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The shopping area and bus stop are right across the street. The room was quiet, and had a small balcony.
Great central location of a hotel right next to city walls and the cathedral makes it a must stay in Avila. Landmark view, huge beds and polite staff were just an addition to a perfect stay
