A Vibrant Lakeside City

Toronto is a sparkling city that stretches along 20 miles of Lake Ontario's shore and follows a regimented grid pattern of intersecting streets. The city is made up of many distinct neighborhoods, including the Entertainment District, which is home to the CN Tower.

Downtown Toronto is the starting point to the longest street in the world, Yonge Street. This diverse city also features Little Italy, Little Portugal, Chinatown and Koreatown. You might also be interested in the fashionable Queen Street West, packed with boutique shops and popular bars.

The most populous city in Canada has many cultural experiences waiting for visitors, including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Ontario Science Centre, or the secret passageways of Casa Loma. The Hockey Hall of Fame is a testament to this sport's widespread popularity in Ontario. Fans are encouraged to see the Toronto Maple Leafs play at the Air Canada Centre.

Ate on Dupont Street - lots of casual places with character. Transit very easy to navigate. Coffee and gelato excellent at Mizzica's. Would not bother with Hockey Hall of Fame - far too corporate and NHL -oriented.

It was over 40 years between visits to Canada and my first time in Toronto, it did not dissapoint. Toronto is a big city and you are spoilt for choice with where to stay. We stayed downtown as it was close to conference venue. You will want to spend time exploring the different neighbourhoods and if you get time, I would recommend a tip down to Hamilton and to Niagra. All serviced by the clean and reliable GO trains from Union station. Cose to the city I recommend walking through Kensington Market - which is a district rather than a market. On the weekend this place is heaving. You have a pletohra of great restaurants and a people watching paradise. Closer to downtown, a walk along King and Queen streets will reward you with street art, quirky shops, some of the best vintage stores I have been in and food options galore. Can also recommend a wander through Chinatown (Between Queen St and Kensington Market. The Distillery District is worth a look if you have time. The old distillery makes for an interesting backdrop to new residental buildings, shops, bars and restaurants. The UP trains from the airport (Pearson) to the city are your best option to get into the city. Around $12 and about 25 minutes - well worth it and a lot cheaper than taxis and Uber. Enjoy!

I am no stranger to Toronto as I worked for The City of Toronto at Toronto City Hall for 40 years. Toronto is an exciting City to visit. It’s so clean, the people are super friendly, there are so many different types of food and restaurants to enjoy, so many wonderful attractions to visit - a trip on the Ferry to Centre Island is a must during the warm summer months, the Aquarium, take in a Toronto Blue Jays game, walk to St Lawrence Market. Visit beautiful Nathan Phillips square anytime of the year. Make sure to spend a day at the Toronto Zoo too.!!!! Go to The Pint right across the street for a pint and some delicious food and hang out with all the Blue Jays fans!!!!

I particularly liked the waterfront parks, the Luminiere exhibit was lovely. CN tower was so-so, but the Aquarium was excellent. The Princess of Wales Theater is a lovely, contemporary theater and the production of Les Miserables that I attended was fantastic. Food very good - particularly at Vagabondo Italian, and Dessert Lady coffee shop.

For non American / Canadians Toronto is expensive. For restaurants bars etc you can pretty much add 50% to what you think you are going to pay by the time the tax is added then the pretty compulsory tip (Gratuity) Public transport is good and reliable and not too expensive.

Our stay @HolidayInn made us feel comfortable and happy. This is quite near to Toronto financial district and we were able to spend our time by walking, biking and sort of seeing the downtown. Rooms are very tidy and staff are very supportive especially @Ravish Kumar has specially allocated a room with city view which is certainly worth to each penny. This hotel is in a great place and well connected with public transportation , restaurants and supermarkets. I finally felt my choice is good after cancelling another hotel and moving here.

It has a great location, with everything at walking distance. It took us a couple of days to learn the TTC system (public transportation). After that, it was really easy to move around and get to places in Downtown Toronto. The reception staff was really friendly and the staff at the restaurant were very attentive too. The beds were comfortable, although smaller than other hotels (Full instead of Queen). The toiletries provided were of great quality (Dove) and we had no need to ask for extra after 4 days.

It was so clean, the bathrooms were really beautifully updated! It was 15 minutes from downtown Toronto and close the the TTC if you prefer that form of transportation! Breakfast was good & open early enough on the weekend that we didn’t have to wait to eat/sacrifice complimentary breakfast to get our tourism on. Traveling from the US and I just really appreciated the convenience of everything the hotel offered. We are sure to come back next time we are in Toronto!

The apartment is absolutely charming. My gf is very picky when it comes to accommodation, and if she is gaga about a place, it means twice as much as for anyone else. As a graduate from UofT from 40 years ago and resident outside Canada, it was wonderful to walk down memory lane. Everything you want from downtown Toronto is close by. I never met Margie, but what the heck, that's what we have social media for.

It was an excellent choice for the money: not too pricey as similar level hotels in downtown Toronto, but very close to downtown - it took us about 18 minutes to drive from the hotel to the Yonge-Dundas square (Sunday traffic though), it's nothing for a New Yorker!:) The room was big and nice, the bed was excellent, everything clean all around. Also, the check-in process took something about 45 seconds!

Recommendations about transportation, shops, and other stuff in welcome documents. Oh, and action figures! These were pretty cool 😎! Would definitely book again when I'm back in downtown Toronto.

Very nice hotel, Charming, with nice accomodations. But really far from downtown Toronto! They say you have the possibility to rest but there is no place like a coffee salon or something to have a coffee or tea during the afternoon! Service not so good, very long in the restaurant. High prices. We asked to change our room because it was so dark, no light or sun comming in! Very strange !!

On our first visit to Canada, even though we had family spotted around we wanted to explore Toronto by our own means. My children watch a tv show "The Next Step" where we see the Sonesta Hotel at the start and when we booked it they were ecstatic. The location is so central and we were able to do trips via subway and walking distance to museums and shops.
