It was a great place to land before heading to Istanbul.
It was a great place to land before heading to Istanbul. Very walkable, safe for single women and not crowded with tourists. The metro is fantastic and there are many beautiful public parks!
Not many people speak English but we could get by with some limited Arabic and lots of hand gestures with accomodating city hosts.

I loved the city structure, peoples hospitality, as well as calmness . However in rash hours it was a bit annoying to reach the destinations. Since I already had been in Istanbul, I can fairly say that Ankara is much more beautiful than Istabul as a touristic city. I would definitely travel again. Not to mention that they have installed buttons for quick requesting a taxi which was nice.

I love Ankara - the awe-inspiring landmarks, such as the majestic Atatürk Mausoleum (I see it from the top floor of my hotel), stand tall as a testament to the city's proud history and the visionary spirit of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It gives such magic and confirms true glory – lights in the evening make me think of some truly enchanting atmosphere. The lovely streets of Ankara are adorned with stunning architecture, beautiful parks, and bustling markets, all reflecting the city's unique character and cultural diversity.

Large. Lots of people
I didn't experience any old or interesting features there.
All the food in restaurants are more or less the same throughout Turkiye. I'm sure there are subtle regional differences. But I couldn't pick any.

Ankara is an undiscovered gem in Turkey.
Ankara is an undiscovered gem in Turkey. People think if this city only as the capital city; however, it offers many sites and attractions worth visiting and explore. The region around the hotel has many restaurants, cafes, pubs etc., the city has numerous museums, concert halls, parks and shopping venues. Furthermore, it's the most orderly city in Turkiye; hence, getting around is not a problem at all.

The city is very car-centric.
The city is very car-centric. Even if the places you want to visit are close to you, you'll probably need to cross 10-lane motorways to reach them. However, there are some great examples of 20th-century architecture and interesting archeological museums.
This is a small boutique hotel that’s central with food shops and sumpermarts just a stone’s throw away.
Rooms are small and bathrooms even smaller. Claustrophobic I’d say. Even for the bigger category rooms one can’t swing a cat inside.
Breakfast was good with the best eggs served.
What was outstanding thou were the staff who made our stay personable and pleasant. They emphasise on getting to know you and make it a point to connect hence I can understand the high ratings.
5 star for service!
4 for everything else.
The room was very nice and clean, I loved the design of the bathroom and the air filtration system was extremely good (my friend smoked cigarettes inside the room and after a few hours, it was all gone). The price of the room was quite good compared to some other hotels. I managed to try breakfast one time, but it was also good. Location is also really good - near Kizilay and near the hotel, there are many bars, restaurants and coffee shops.
Just to the south of the city, half a mile walk from the metro, but taxis right outside hotel, staff friendly although a few language difficulties which we had not experienced elsewhere in Turkey which lead to some confusion about the type of room we had booked, and how and when we were going to pay, so suggest Booking look at this to make it easier for the hotel and their guests.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and in an ideal location near everything you need! The hotel service exceeded my expectations and the staff was super helpful and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is fresh and delicious. Also, the view of the rooms is breathtaking. I’m happy I picked this hotel on my first visit ever to Turkey. Would totally recommend City Hotel Residence to anyone.
Special mention to the 2 gentlemen on the night shift who went above and beyond in helping us after we left a bag on the shuttle bus from the airport - with our passports inside! They rang the bus company, ordered a taxi for us and instructed the driver on how to obtain the bag, and all ended well. Highly professional and caring. Hotel was an added bonus.
The staff were extremely friendly. They were supportive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were upgraded in our room and the kids had a blast. The breakfast was very nice too and there are public playgrounds around the hotel as well as a mall within walking distance and grocery stores too.
An excellent hotel, with a very kind and professional staff, great Main Manager, always ready to help on any issue, definitely recommend, very convenient to get to, there is a taxi, a shop nearby, we also got there from the airport quite quickly. Everything is great!
I had my breakfast outside the hotel. Prices were quite affordable. Hotel was very close to Kizilay metro. There were quite a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful, eapecially a big thanks to Gulsah for her help.
During my journey through Turkey it was definitely the best hotel. For such a cheap price my room looked like a luxe. Breakfast was one of the best, i had every day room service, i was given free water and tea every day.
Convenient location. The hotel offers to coordinate the transfer from the airport, which is very helpful. The breakfast has international and local things. The room was very comfortable
The hotel is in the city center, but not a tourist area. we enjoyed the busy streets in the evening and had a nice walk. The staff is very friendly and willing to help.
