I was charged an extra $40, and they couldn't tell me why. We paid separately for parking, yet they still charged me more. Also, the fridge didn't work.

We were in town for a College Basketball game. The campus was clean and busy. The city was hit or miss. We did not feel safe in the hotel neighborhood, The city seemed dark and unwelcoming. Law enforcement rarely seen, except directing game traffic.

I lived in Athens for 37 and just went back for a visit. Athens is a wonderful place to live and to visit. There are top-notch restaurants, bars, parks, especially the State Botanical Gardens, and lots of cultural and sporting activities on and off campus and minimal traffic, except on game day (!). The University of Georgia campus is gorgeous and a beautiful place for a stroll to admire the grounds and the historic buildings. The downtown area is charming too with its restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. There are also lots of great options for vegans, but my favorite dish is the Vegan Clay Pot with maple smoked tofu and a delicious assortment of veggies at The Last Resort, served only for brunch on the weekends. It's the best dish I've ever eaten. Athens is definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

Loved our stay in downtown Athens.
Loved our stay in downtown Athens. Lots of great restaurants and local boutique-type shops. Very walkable to the UGA campus and Sanford Stadium. It was invigorating being right in the center of the action on a game weekend.

Fantastic fun city, not what I expected, but the "stay-cation" was for more than just fun... We were scouting for a possible move from the Atlanta area. What we found was disappointing. The city is not very disabled nor senior friendly (in our opinion). The weekend, despite being a holiday weekend, the city was dead. Sunday, nothing, well, almost nothing, was open in town. We had to go a couple miles out of downtown to find something to eat for breakfast. Even in town, "everyone" drives much faster than the speed limit. There were literally dozens of men and women sleeping on the sidewalks and panhandling. I'm sure it must be different when it is cooler, but overall, we were disappointed. Even the apartment prices and home prices were "Midtown Atlanta" level, while Athens is not the "super" city Atlanta is.

The Graduate is centrally located, that is the good news.
The Graduate is centrally located, that is the good news. However, they take every opportunity to increase the price, complete with a $100 security deposit on your credit card to be evaluated after you leave and a $10 parking/security charge and a $5 charge for a bottle of water that was never used. If you want to feel like a convicted felon who typically trashes a room be my guest.

Rooms and linens both looked unclean had stains on both and both mornings they had to get breakfast from an outside source and then; they didn't have enough or that's what they were telling the guest; but I saw 2 employees walking around with breakfast and I didn't get enough to feed my 3 grand kids.
The staff was friendly upon check-in. The hotel has made cosmetic updates. We stayed here for a UGA game. They have a complimentary shuttle to and from downtown the night before and the day of the game. This shuttle service was great. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were soft. The rooms were fairly quiet and spacious. The coffee was very good that was served at breakfast. The hotel was fully booked, but it did not seem crowded. Conveniently located near Tesla chargers (if something you need).
Easy to find, clean, at the lower price point for Athens hotels, convenient for the event I attended at the State Botanical Garden. Room was well equipped, including a small though slightly noisy fridge. Pretty quiet, especially for a Friday night in a college town, and on a main road. Nice selection of breakfast items. Parking right outside the door. Plenty of places to eat nearby.
We stayed in 4 different hotels over a week long trip and this one was by far the best appointed and thought out. It had a hip vibe and was a charming combination of light wood, plants, books, modern and vintage. the rooms had plenty of space for all 4 of us - 2 teens and 2 adults to have some elbow room and breathe.
- perfect location: restaurants, downtown, University of Georgia
- great parking availability
- very kind staff- professional, helpful, friendly
- amazing sunrise views over rural Georgia
- rooftop patio/bar; very nice view
- spacious room with a comfortable bed
- quiet and clean
We`ve travelled thru SE America for more than 2 weeks and stayed in 10 hotels and twice at Wingate hotels, (Brunswick and Athens) which both topped our lists. Especially breakfast was very good in comparison with other hotels which used the covid excuse to serve lousy breakfast
Clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed and good shower (the first room they gave me smelt of smoke, but they immediately moved me when I asked). Friendly staff. I was only there for one night, and didn't sample the breakfast, but all in all, good value for money!
Breakfast was good for a hotel of this type. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Athens. Parking was covered and convenient. Staff was nice. Room was larger than most hotels at this price. Beds are very comfortable.
Hotel & room were very clean. Eggs at the Continental breakfast were on point. Staff were polite and helpful. Good location about 12 minutes from UGA. Will definitely be staying here again when I have events to attend @ UGA.
The rooms were comfortable. I thought the AC unit was a little loud when it switched on but it's not irritating. The rooms were clean and there were plenty of towels available. The place was really quiet that night.
Nice location. Close to downtown athens. Also, the different variety of rooms was very nice too. the sound system in the theater is really nice, and the master bedroom is very spacious.
The hotel was clean and in a decent location. We had a wonderful time with our son and attending the Georgia game. All hotels in Athens are EXTREMELY over priced during football season!
The location was perfect to avoid the traffic. Close to Publix, Starbucks, etc. The room was clean, ac was ice cold, cold fridge and a working microwave. The front desk was very nice.
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were inside a building that had locked doors that required key access only to get in. An extra layer of protection was comforting.
everything about this hotel; location, cleanliness and quality of breakfast were great. But my problem with Hyatt Place Athens, GA was with their customer service.
Great room, good size.
Very comfortable bed.
Good size bathroom with plenty of grab rails to get in and out of shower.
Excellent breakfast.
Secure parking.
