Absolutely love love love this place.. it was my three year anniversary and I asked for roses throughout the room and on bed. I asked for a few special requests and didn’t know if they would do them. I was more then surprised and fulfilled when I walked in the door and it has a rose petal park to our bed with rose petals all on our bed saying congrats! Also they left a bottle of Prosecco and champagne glasses for us. We don’t drink but it was very special. We had two bed rooms. One had a small vanity and a bathtub. The other had a huge long vanity and glass shower with wonderful water pressure. We had a decently large closet in both rooms and two dressers. We had a full kitchen with a dishwasher, glassware, oven, fill fridge, stove and microwave. It’s came with everything. It was like a very pretty apartment. I would truly live there. We had a tv in our living space with a large couch. Each room had their own TVs as well. One room has a little office desk which is nice as well. Absolutely breathtaking. Staff were EXTREMELY nice. Both women I had seen there were wonderful.

Clean, very comfortable bed, quiet. Good location.
If you like to walk, Portsmouth is perfect. Unfortunately Strawbery Banke Museum was closed for the season, a reason to return.
We found some great restaurants. We really liked The Franklin and were sorry to have missed Cava. Cava was closed for two weeks, so another reason to go back.
There were a few other restaurants we want to try too!

We stayed for one night enroute to NYC from New Brunswick, Canada and again on the way home. We would definitely go back for a longer stay. Close to shopping in Kittery; ate at Applebee's and the Olive Garden, two of our favorites when we visit the US. Delicious food and wonderful, friendly service.

Portsmouth is a fun city : lots to do and see nearby also. We enjoyed a movie at the cool music hall , and drove to nearby kittery outlets. We had a lovely late lunch at wentworth by the sea. Great breakfast at friendly toast and we signed up for a time before we went so skipped the wait outside. Lots of arty stores and a good bookstore too.
Enjoy!

We love the character of Portsmouth.
We love the character of Portsmouth. It's charming without being stuffy, and has a vibrant, funky feel downtown with some good restaurants. It's also very walkable, even when the conditions are a little challenging. Just be sure to check the weather for your trip and bring appropriate clothing and footwear. If you are in town, don't miss Caffe Kilim for great coffee, bakery and snack items. Also, grab a meal at The Green Elephant for some of the best vegetarian Thai food you will find in New England.

The Library Restaurant was amazing.
The Library Restaurant was amazing. Loved the feel of downtown being such a vibrant place. Historical sights were abound. Strawberry Banke, the Fort, the Tug Boats...people watching...the Music Hall too!
The location is fantastic to explore Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. The Inn offers a parking package for additional fee which is very convenient. This was a repeat visit. Quiet traditional rooms. Neat little lobby with coffee/tea/water and little snacks/granola bars 24/7. There are books on local history, tourist info and games. Very cozy when your fellow traveler is napping or not awake yet. Highly recommend.
The staff was very friendly and helpful (we worked with Tom). The room size and cleanliness were surprising considering the age of the hotel and the fact that it was under construction. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and spacious, as well. AC worked great! The location was ideal for easy access for Ubering into downtown Portsmouth.
Quiet room, very comfortable bed, large shower with a free-flowing drain, good size refrigerator (in our Deluxe room—not sure the regular rooms have them). The long desk w/2 chairs was very convenient for 2 people. Loved the wood floor—so much more sanitary than carpet. Easy parking. The rate was very reasonable compared to other area lodging.
The room was clean & spacious. Loved the convenience of the kitchenette and having the bedroom separate. The bed was awesome. Slept great. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The bath products were awesome. The hotel is located in the center of the downtown. Everything we were interested in was within walking distance of the hotel.
Unfortunately I had to turn around in the middle of my way to the hotel because I forgot to take my passport in order to cross Canada border the next morning. 3 hours driving back home to get it. So I had no chance to come back to the hotel. But I was delightfully surprised to get my money back. Soooo nice of the hotel staff. Thanks a lot!
The location of this hotel was perfect and smack in the middle of Portsmouth. The rooms were very spacious and extremely clean. The hot breakfast in the morning was exactly what we needed to get the day started and so much better than stale muffins and dry cereal that other hotels offer.
The Best Western Manager provided us with good travel tips. You could tell he was proud of his facility and the City of Portsmouth.
Really appreciated the free parking -- a pretty rare thing for New England hotels/motels.
The property is beautiful. Garden is spectacular and has nice places to sit and have something to drink. The rooms are well appointed. Parking is very good. It’s within walking distance of downtown Portsmouth, about a mile.
Good location in Portsmouth, which is a great city to stroll around the boutique shops, port and soak up a little history.
More economical than other hotels along the south Maine/New Hampshire coast.
Breakfast included.
Staff could not have been more helpful. Good-sized room with very comfortable beds. Plenty of parking. Handy supermarket nearby. Short drive into downtown Portsmouth. Would stay again.
Breakfast was delicious. I had the breakfast quesadilla, and my sister had the breakfast sandwich. We sat near the 2 sided fireplace, which made for a nice atmosphere.
