Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.
Split is centered around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and featuring limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!
The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.
Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soft drinks Pipi and Orela.
So just pack your bags and head to Split Airport! Booking.com has plenty of sunny apartments, friendly guest houses and well-equipped hotels for your Split adventure.

Very beautiful city with many activities for family : visit the surrounding islands, go to the beaches, go for hiking, sightseeing, visiting some parks and old cities ... The best month for a stay is April i think as the weather is sunny and not too warm. And as it's low season for tourism, the city is not crowded of people and prices aren't so high as in summer, even prices are quite expensive that expected. Split in general is clean, well organised, secure. The Croatian people seem nice, civic, welcoming and pleasant. You could communicate with them in English almost everywhere. What is a bit of a shame is that the restaurants which truly serve local and typical cuisine of the country are few in number and difficult to spot, unlike those which offer world cuisine.

Split was a very positive surprise for me.
Split was a very positive surprise for me. It was easy and also very safe to walk all around the city. It was not so easy to climb up the hill of Marjan, but when you reached the top, you had a marvellous view. Split has many high quality restaurants, but their menues are very homogeneous. Seabream, seabass, tuna, fish, fish and fish grilled or tartar. And the prices are also the same. That means quite high in a fishing village. I like fish, but after two weeks I started looking for something else. Finally I found one restaurant serving Sarma, stuffed cabbage rolls, which is a traditional food there. For me a real delicacy.

We travelled to Split in December in low season so did not have lots of tourists around at this time and made it easy to see attractions. Rented a car and went to Plitvice National Park, Klis Fortress, Salona ancient village, the village of Vid where an ancient roman museum is of Roman Emperor Alexander the Great is located, and to Trogir and the Ciovino Island adjacent to Trogir. Xmas lights and festivities were happening all round the Old City. Had some great weather to enjoy these wonderful sites. Not many guided tours were available at this time so a rented car was very useful, and street parking was relatively easy to find because of low season. Any paid parking was 20-25 Euro per day, so happy to avoid that.

Beautiful seaside resort steeped in ancient history.
Beautiful seaside resort steeped in ancient history. In 5 days, we took a rickshaw ride to get started; walked through Diocletian Palace and Riva; enjoyed horseback ride at Podstrana; ziplining at Mt. Kozjak; and half-day speedboat ride to 3 islands including Trogir. Also took a half-day road trip to Krka National Park. Ate at restaurants along the Riva - al good. Look for free parking on street or low priced in public parking lots.
Stayed 3 nights in the deluxe studio apartment which certainly lived up to its name. This place is simply gorgeous. Well laid out and beautifully furnished. Plenty of room for 3 people to stay, with both a double bed and sofa bed.
The bathroom is huge with one of the best walk-in showers I've ever experienced. Great communication with the property before and during my stay, including recommendations for local restaurants. An easy walk into the old town. This was one of my favourite places to stay in 2 weeks of travelling through Croatia.
This is absolutely perfect accommodation in Split. Zana is a delightful hostess, helpful and caring! The apartment is wonderful, we lacked nothing, balcony with a fantastic view, comfortable beds, tidy, fully equipped kitchen and a fridge carefully filled with what you need after a long journey.
The apartment is a stone's throw from the old town and the port, it is close to everything.
We are so happy with our stay in Split, we couldn't get a better start to our trip in beautiful Croatia!
Thanks Zana!
Warm greetings from Anna and Micke
The location is excellent, a short walk down the steps to the city centre and old town and in the other direction, 2 mins away from a national park and amazing views!
Great value for money considering location and compared to hotels.
Milo, our host, was incredibly helpful and friendly, giving us lots of useful info about places to visit and where to save money on food.
The room had everything we needed and was spotless. We would definitely recommend it to anyone and will happily stay again if we're ever in Split!
Location was perfect. It is so close to the bus terminus. There's a short cut across the tracks which takes only 5 mins. It is walking distance to the old Town n the only sandy beach in Split. The room was clean n comfortable room. It was a lovely gesture by the host to leave water bottles for us in the room for the first day. Also, when we checked out, the host helped us with our luggage. He was so easily contactable. There was also a kettle n 2 cups in the room. Most hotels I stayed in Croatia didn't have.
There was everything on the right place, I fell there like at home, maybe even better... People who own this place are just wonderful. You can tell them everything and talk to them at any time. And if you're lucky you can meet Kiki and Mimi (dogs).
Old Town is really close, cool restaurants and cafes, you need to try croatian ice creams and donuts but be careful, it's easy to eat too many! I am young girl and I was there alone. I fell safe tho. Thank you for everything again.
What was not to like? The location was perfect, on the inside of the city wall and only steps away from the outdoor market. Wonderful courtyard for enjoying a full breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. The whole staff spoke English. Friendly and helpful staff. A great source of information from how to get a covid-19 test before your flight home the next day to where the Croatia Record Store moved. Just a great place to set up the base for your visit to Split.
The location is perfect! The terrace is nice, we enjoyed sitting out early in the morning and evenings.
Our host gave us water bottle and a bottle of red wine. I thought that was nice, especially you have to pay for water bottle everywhere you go in Croatia. Even though in general water from the sink/water fountains are good for drinking, the restaurants and cafes don't give you tap water, they give you bottled water and it's not cheap.
Charming, traditional Croatian house in a fantastic location- right in the heart of the Old Town with all the historic sites within a few minutes walk and surrounded by an excellent choice of restaurants. The host, Irena, was very friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants and day trips and was easily contacted. Lots of extras provided such as beach towels, umbrellas, washing powder and we could help ourselves to fresh towels.
The studio is perfect and has everything you need..bed super comfortable..washing machine is very useful..
I was in Croatia for Ultra Music festival and it was a 10 minute walk away which was just perfect..
Super close to the old town as well which was lovely..
Angelo was the best host ever..extremely helpful..responded quickly to messages and gave me some great advice about nice beaches in the area..
Luxury hotel with clean, large rooms, lots of amenities, friendly and helpful staff, and great location. Easy walk to old town and great room views. Even easier walk to the beach. Pool and lounge area is also very nice if you don't want to leave the property one day. Highly recommend. It was the best room we had our entire two week trip in Croatia, full patio was so nice to have.
Our stay at this apartment was amazing! The stylish, well-equipped space was great for me and my 10 year old. It's conveniently located near everything we wanted to explore: the Old Town, beach, riviera, really making exploration easy. The host's local insights added to our wonderful experience. Highly recommended for a memorable Croatian getaway!
Super friendly host
Easy check-in
Fully equiped bathroom
Nice terrace with turtles!
Groceries and bakery on 1 minute walk
Walk to Split centre in 5 minutes
Quiet neighborhood
Easy access by car with free parking across the street (only watch out for the croatian way of parking: they block you and put their phonenumber on their front window)
This hotel has undergone an amazing renovation with comfortable beds, pillows and lots of unique furniture. Located in a central location of old town. Amazing and varied breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out. This hotel was a highlight of our Croatia trip, highly recommended!
Super friendly and welcoming host. This was the best overall accomodation experience during our two week trip through Croatia. Very clean, modern and big room. The bed is amazing. Great location as well! Would love to stay here again next time we're in Split!
It's two minutes walking to old town. Very clean. Nives is probably the best host we've ever had. So friendly and caring, but also gives you a lot of privacy. Would totally recomend and looking forward to come back. One of the best discoveries in Croatia.
Great location close to the ferry’s and lots of restaurants. The host was great! She booked a car for our arrival and departure from the Split Airport (40 Euro both ways). Croatia is amazing, 10/10 coming back and would recommend.
Beautiful and peaceful location away from the business of Split. The pool and spa were lovely. Plenty of room for 2 families and our host was very friendly. If we come back to Croatia, we will definitely stay here again!
Best hotel in Croatia so far! Staff, location, interior, poolside, everything was perfect! Especially breakfast and restaurant were to die for! Cant wait to come again and spend more time there.
New, charmy, very clean hotel with the ultimate location in the centre of old town of Split. Super kind staff and best service I have experienced in Split. Thanks for your hospitability.
Location is very good, right in the city centre of old Split. Nice roof terrace to have breakfast or to relax. It has airconditioning which is necessary in sunny Croatia.
