Postilion Hotel Amsterdam is a smart hotel located in Amsterdam. It features a fitness center, a restaurant and business facilities.

I enjoyed the handling panel of the semi-smart room. Lighting, blackout curtain, TV, AC could be handled from one panel. The surplus surprise was the mirror in the bathroom, becoming TV screen - if needed :-). Breakfast was very rich. Metro station is not too far, roughly 4-5 minutes on foot.

The 'Gold' rooms ('Deluxe' on booking.com) have the most amazing views! The Spa tub in the room is very good. Although a bit far out of the center, the nearby train/bus stations make travel easy at any time of day. We did not eat at the restaurant so cannot comment on the food. Will likely come here again in the future!

The Best Culture and Nightlife this Side of a Canal

Jump on your city bike or hop on a canal boat and admire Amsterdam, the Venice of the North! The beautiful city houses, romantic bridges, iconic canals and street cafés create its unique atmosphere and give you an ultimate taste of its fascinating past.

Famous for its museums, most important of which are located in the Museumplein, Amsterdam offers you a chance to see unforgettable masterpieces by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Mondriaan and more. The Anne Frank House is a sobering reminder of the city’s more recent history. After a lot of walking, the Rijksmuseum is a great place to rest and get some extra culture before visiting Amsterdam’s lovely Vondelpark.

The medieval Old Center with the always busy Dam Square and the tempting Red Lights District is the most visited part of Amsterdam. Make sure to stop at Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, homes to the best nightlife venues.

Shop till you drop at Amsterdam’s most luxury shopping street, PC Hooftstraat, the most popular street market at Albert Cuyp or in the fancy design shops of the Jordaan district. Famous pancakes and frites with mayonnaise are a must-try! The more adventurous traveler might want to try the pickled herring, followed closely by a local beer.

All these attractions are just a short train ride from the Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. Whether you want to stay at a cozy hotel on a canal, a modern apartment in a quiet part of the city or a room in the center of everything, Booking.com has a perfect accommodation for your Amsterdam vacation.

The city is like a fairytale.

The city is like a fairytale. There is new beauty around every corner. However it's very crowded with people and it's often difficult to walk the sidewalks, especially with the bicycles whizzing by. The bicycles are kamikaze. Never take your eyes off the bike lanes. They don't stop for people. You need to make reservations to get into most restaurants. They fill up fast. The tram system is superb. You hop on and off with a credit card tap (Not AmEx). Same with the buses and underground metro. The large ubiquitous grocery stores do not take credit cards. Only debit or cash. But they have fresh-squeezed orange juice machines to fill up bottles with fresh juice. Fantastic!

An amazing city even in a chilly, wet, sunny Spring! So much to enjoy, to do, to tour. And, very nice people too. Good restaurants and bars and very good mass transits. I recommend the Free Walking Tour as well as the Canal Boat ride (1 hr is enough).

Amazing city with many opportunities for travelers. From historic buildings and tours, to amazing stores and restaurants and such good atmosphere when going out for a drink. I had so much fun in the city and felt like i got a little bit of both learning about the city and culture and fun.

    Public transport is great.

Public transport is great. It's so accessible and reliable, and so easy to get around Amsterdam. Love the heritage buildings and the feel of old Europe. The city is relatively clean, organised, locals were helpful and easy to communicate with. We stayed a bit far off from the central area so weren't able to partake of local cuisine. Legal weed means you get to smell it almost anywhere though. It's also a cashless city so you'll be brandishing your debit/credit card everywhere. Love the Van Gogh Museum, wish I had time to visit all the other museums and attractions.

Amsterdam is a vibrant city, bit in line with other major cities expect to pay premium prices for everything from snacks & beer to dinner. Budget accordingly, for example an average beer is anything from €7 up to €12 euro. There are no shortage of places to eat and drink but be aware that the prices are high. Average €25 pp for breakfast with coffee. Dutch pancakes plus coffee for 2 will set you back €50. The transport system is phenomenally well organised, my advice is to buy a travel pass for the duration of your stay, it covers trams, buses & trains in and around the city. Most of all, take care with personal belongings as you would at home, the city centre is very very busy and remember, not everyone is on vacation….explore Amsterdam, have fun, be safe.

The one drawback was being able to access museums like Anne Frank and Van Gogh despite trying to use the o line booking 6 weeks in advance as suggested. We ended up missing out on these. Other museums were easily accessible. We really enjoyed what we did see as well as some of the great restaurants such as Umami by Ha which was outstanding and Himalayan Kitchen, a hidden gem! Absolutely loved the Keukenhof and all the beautiful flowers!

Close to the city center but very quiet and safe area. Many nice restaurants in walking distance, including Box Sociall, Olijfje, Ku Kitchen, etc. Just located on the canal. You can walk along the canal to the center. Just next to Amsterdam Law/Business School. Spacious with nice interior design. Very kind reception desk for 24 hours/basic housing supply/garbage cleaning + spacious bedroom/living room/kitchen, offering good points from hotel and airbnb combined. Security with contactless card entry at the gate and room.

We arrived very early in Amsterdam and were able to access our room much earlier than expected. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The advance assistance by WhatsApp was also very useful. There's a very good breakfast buffet. The hotel is located a little way from the city centre, but is quieter as a result. Also, there are good bus connections right outside the hotel and the walk into town through Westerpark is very nice - there are also plenty of cafes and places to eat around there.

The room was spacious, clean and had everything we required for a 4 day stay in Amsterdam. The connections to the train, bus and tram system were key to making travel easy, so the location is fantastic when compared to other hotels outside the city centre. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked just fine, and overall it was a fantastic experience. The hotel staff were lovely enough to give my partner a small gift for her birthday which we really appreciated. Everything was perfect.

This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Clean and comfortable room, very friendly stuff, great location (even though the hotel is not in the city center, it is less than a minute walk from the metro). The breakfast was good as well (the dishes dont change much but there is a big variety of them so we could change when we wanted). It was quite and warm in the room (we stayed in April and it was quite cold outside). Overall, I am very happy and will probably stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay here very much, the historical building has an interesting configuration and design, a truly visual experience, and the place is filled with a particular energy. The hotel is located in a green, quiet and safe neighbourhood, Metro is 10 minutes away walking distance and there are only 2 stops to get to Amsterdam city center. The room was cosy, clean and comfortable. The hotel's restaurant is also worth visiting, it has a beautiful terrace and they serve good food.

The location, next to Amsterdam's Centraal Station, is ideal if you plan to use the train to take day trips from the city. The staff was extremely accommodating and the breakfast was very good and plentiful. Some people complain about street noise, but Amsterdam is a lively city and it wasn't too bad. Really, all of the hotels in the city center are in old building and some noise is unavoidable. The air conditioning was solid.

The hotel is a little bit far away from the city center (which is good if you don't like the craziness from red light district). Comfortable, clean bedrooms and a decent breakfast. The daily room service did an excellent job. It was like having a new room every time. The staff were all really friendly. It’s a simple hotel, but a good one at that. It was ok value for money for Amsterdam. The location is not central, but there are two tram lines, the 12 and the 4 which take you straight to the city centre.
