A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernizing at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and has fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.
This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.
With a choice of shopping centers and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.
Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle, head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.
Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.

I have travelled to Shanghai for almost 15 years and always like the hustle and bustle of the city. Just wish they would be more animal friendly and aware of helping animals and have more pet services to help abandoned and stray pets. I find this very upsetting. The Chinese have come a way but have a l o n g way to go wrt animal welfare ... This aspect really spoils my Shanghai experience. They have an efficient subway system that's clean and on time. Easy to use and inexpensive. The markets and street vendors are fun and the local food is delicious and fresh. Etiquette amongst locals needs urgent attention ... hawking and spitting is gross but very evident and sometimes one has to look carefully where you put your feet.

We stayed only for 2 days and I was traveling with 2 children - our first visit to Shanghai. It was February (Spring Festival) and very cold, but dry and bright.
As this was a family/tourist trip we visited the Wild Animal Park (almost an hour away by taxi) and Shanghai World Circus (15 minutes away by taxi) and wandered around to see the Bund, historic sites and shops.
The city is incredibly dynamic and vibrant - so much energy and noice! So many lights and people! There is an enormous amount to see and do in Shanghai - certainly 2 days wasn't enough!
We ate at the Peach Hotel; an extraordinary building. Getting around IS easy - in addition to walking (street signs are in Chinese and pin-yin), and taxis (you need the Didi app - if you want an English version use the What's App or AliPay mini-programme). And of course there is the Metro! Next time I would stay much longer!

Initial I wanted to stay for only 4 nights but I extended to a 1 week due to my work.
Upon check in they upgraded my room and when I extended the stay they kept me in the same upgraded room for the whole week.
It was very pleasant stay and the dinner at Revolving Restaurant was simply awesome.

For me not interesting at all, too impersonal, too much concrete, not "homelike", no atmosphere, very expensive generally. Hardly possible to communicate with locals. No martial arts or else. All applications (e.g. maps, searches) in Chinese only. Found anyway small restaurants for locals, better prices. Some temples may be good (Jing'An, Jade Buddha etc.).

The buildings in the financial centre are superb.
The buildings in the financial centre are superb. Shopping is available in abundance but not in variety. Accessibility is extremely good using the cheap and efficient 18 metro lines and other transport networks. People are friendly and the foods are easily available and reasonably priced.
The staff is polite and always friendly. Breakfast is very GOOD comparing to other hotels I have stayed before. Perfect location is for sightseeing. Everything was almost perfect, only the stay was too short to try out the whole offer.
We encountered a slight issue to get a taxi to Pudong airport. Just a friendly improvement advice, it would be helpful to inform the customer the spot that they can get a taxi nearby.
We really liked the rooms we stayed and the hotel was near the airport with the free shuttle bus service. We choose to stay the night before we flew back to the UK. The hotel manager Christina was very kind to arrange a car to pick us up from the metro station after we arrived shanghai from Beijing. Friendly and helpful staff. I will recommend this hotel if you travel from the airport near to this hotel.
The hotel is in a good location and we have been there several times before when we lived in Shanghai. We booked the hotel as we were arriving Christmas Day and we wanted to have the Christmas Day Brunch and then spend the night. Unfortunately our plan was delayed and we missed the brunch! However, we enjoyed an afternoon stroll on the Bund and up Nanjing Rd.
The staff is really nice ! Awesome and helpful !
The rooms are really clean, comfortable, good isolated, calm areas. The terrace is really cozy.
The surrounding are a Burger King, small market, pizza hut, Starbucks, and other restaurants, just less than few minutes by walk.
It takes arround 20 min from the Pudong Airport, and the hotel provides free shuttle.

A modern and big hotel very near to Pudong Airport. Even if the view from the window was on the airport itself, it seemed to be very calm and quiet. The staff is very kind and professional, able to speak a very good English (it is not so common, neither in big hotel). The room was big and well-organised. A pity I could enjoy this hotel only for one night!
In my experience rarely does a 5 Star hotel exceed expectations. The Waldorf is truly an exceptional hotel and manages to deliver an experience that matches its renowned history. The panoramic river views are second to none, service and food are outstanding and the staff go the extra mile. When we return to Shanghai we will not consider any other hotel.
A hotel in the middel of the hustle of the shopping streets. It is 5 min walk to the metrostation with direct connection to the airports Pudong and Hongqiao. The room is very spacious with seperated shower, bath and toilet. The breakfast is very delicious. You have choice of Chinese and Western breakfast.
The location could not be any better. You walk out of the hotel and step into Xitiandi where you can find many great stores and restaurantes. One block away you can get to the subway, and you can reach anywhere in Shanghai from there.
The best of this hotel was its location to us, it was really good to explore Shanghai.
We enjoyed room service menu. The room was big and the amenities were good. There was a bath in the room. The view was great.
I had a wonderful stay at the Forson Hotel. I needed a place near the airport, and also near the hospital. It was perfect for both. It was also pretty easy to get into the center of Shanghai from the hotel.
Property is located near to Prime location and easy access to Metro station
Hotel reception is good with English speaking receptionist. Mr.German has provided informations to explore the things in Shanghai
I like staying in the Jingan district in Shanghai as it is one of the nicest neighbourhoods. Its quite upscale actually. This hotel is right next to the beautiful Jingan temple.
This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. I love the lobby and common areas. Thank you for the great stay in shanghai! it is a true oasis in the middle of the city.
The front desk guy that checked us in on the first night was the best hotel personnel that we had ever met. He was very passionate about his job, very friendly and helpful.
The room is large and modern with a very comfortable bed. The hotel was very close to Pudong airport which made it very convenient to stay the one night there.
I stayed here for one night due to its proximity to Shanghai's Pudong Airport. The hotel had really good facilities, and the room was very comfortable.
