APA Hotel Hakata Higashihieekimae, hotel in Fukuoka

Well set in the center of Fukuoka, APA Hotel Hakata Higashihieekimae provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking.

It's a perfect location if you're looking for something close to the airport as the stairs for the metro that takes you to the airport are literally right next to the building and it's only one stop away. In the other direction (also one stop away) is Hakata station if you need to grab the Shinkansen or was somewhere centralized to start from. Nice city.

Nice city. I'm a bit surprise that it's not overcrowded like another big cities in Japan that I've been to. Might not be the best place for shopping but it's about right to me. It's more local Japan to me. I see very few English signs. There are some nice attractions but I wouldn't plan a week long trip with just Fukuoka. There are other cities and attractions in Kyushu that should also be in the plan. You don't really need a car in Fukuoka. It's well covered by public transport but for Kyushu in general it'll help considerably if you like to drive though. If I'd plan again, I wouldn't drive the whole trip outside Fukuoka. I rather drive in some areas and travel between big cities with train. It make more sense and can cover more areas and attractions.

It's not as busy as Tokyo or Osaka but is not lacking in places of interest and dining options. It's very easy to get around just as in other cities in Japan. The underground stations in Gion and Tenjin were a sight in itself. The interiors are not like typical train stations. There were intricately designed iron grills in the ceiling and there were lots of merchandise and food to check out. It was fun dining at a yatai stall. The owners were very friendly and one of them patiently explained to us the menu that did not have any English translation. The food was fresh and really tasty. One diner at the yatai stall who is a local suggested a good ramen place. It's Ganso Akanoren Setchan Ramen in Tenjin. She said Ichiran is expensive and "locals do not go there". There was a short queue when we got there around 11:30am the next day. We just waited for about 10 minutes to get a table. We were not disappointed with the food at all; taste and price wise. When we left at 12:30pm, there were about 20 people in line. It was unfortunate that the Fukuoka Castle Ruins was closed for some work to prepare the place for the Sakura Festival later this month so we did not see it. We visited the Kusida Shrine, Team Lab Forest, Sanrio Characters Dreaming attraction, Ohori Park, Canal City. We went on a day trip to Hiroshima to learn more about history and we came out more educated.

The location is absolutely the best. It's 5 mins walking distance from the Hakata station and around the hotel there are plenty of restaurants that serve really nice foods. The staffs are very kind but they don't speak english at all, so I had to struggle with speaking everything in Japanese, which was actually really fun though. This hotel is one of the most clean hotels that I have ever stayed. Everything is really well organized and clean. I was really satisfied. I recommend this place to anyone who would like to travel in Fukuoka.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. It felt like a peaceful retreat. The room was quite spacious and well-designed. The system for requesting housekeeping to service the room is simple and easy to understand and worked seamlessly. The staff was outstanding and was able to answer our questions and assist us with securing a taxi to the airport despite our inability to speak Japanese. The hotel is close to the JR Hakata station as well as the Fukuoka Subway and there are many options for shopping and dining in the area.

Location and the convenience. Very cheap as well. The room seam a bit bigger than in other TI hotels I stayed long time a go so that's a bonus too. It's perfect place for quick transitioning between cities and when you are on a busy schedule. Also always free breakfast I didn't use it as I had to go very early but it's really good. Lastly they are better prepared for modern world than 5 star hotels! I love that they installed USB and Ctype chargers!!! Big bonus for overseas travellers like myself

The location in the lively Daimyo area of Fukuoka is my favorite thing about this hotel. There are shops and restaurants all around, and it's easy to get to the rest of Fukuoka and to Hakata Station and the airport. The hotel is comfortable, modern and has good amenities. I especially like the modern bathroom (with the toilet and the shower being in separate spaces). The rooms are not so big, but the layout makes them very usable. The staff was very nice and professional.

Away from the busy fukuoka center, corky but somehow quiet nice facility, deceiving image from a love hotel, close to Ohori park and many “local” Izakaya 🏮 where we could just walk in without reservation and find friendly hosts and guests willing to talk to. Spacious room, nice bathroom settings, unlimited options to order costumes and food to browse for fun 😉 We were able to leave our luggage before checkin to explore the city lightly.

The room was comfortable. It seems that the room was a room for a Japanese apartment repaired and renovated for hotel use. For this reason, it had a kitchen and washing machine place (no washing machine, though). The view is nothing special. The location is close to Fukuoka Tower (free admission for everyone). The hotel is close to the Fukuoka International Ferry Port, able to reach it within 10 minutes on foot.

A fantastic mid-range hotel in a bustling location in Fukuoka, right between the hip shopping mecca that is the Tenjin district and Hakata railway station. Surprisingly quiet despite being steps away from the ultra lively Nakasu nightlife area. The rooftop onsen can be busy, but the pool can probably accommodate over a dozen people at a time, and the view of a tiny rooftop garden is a nice touch.

For some reasons, this hotel has rather lower reviews, perhaps it was something to do with the Japanese reviewing traditions, this hotel was actually quite good, at the time, the cheapest place i could find in Fukuoka and I had a good experience, so I recommend you don't always bypass a place because of the reviews in Japan. The location is the best. It is just in front of the Hakata Station. Airport bus stops at the Hakata Station, hotel is just a few steps away. The staff are friendly and helpful. Free coffee and tea is a bonus. Breakfast is average and can be improved.

Location is very good and near places such as Canal City and Kawabata shopping area, and easy access by subway to other places like Tenjin and Hakata for shopping. Many eateries near the hotel and within walking distance. Hotel is new and very clean.

The hotel is located near down town Fukuoka and next to the river. The city is clean and beautiful flowers were planted everywhere. The weather was cold and the most of the cherry trees were not ready to bloom.

The hotel is great. I will definitely stay here if visiting Fukuoka again. Staff was super helpful and polite (but then, so is everyone in Japan). Very close to Canal City mall, and subway.

Location was close to Hakata station and Fukuoka international airport. Streets were quiet at night. Check-in and check-out were simple and fast. Room and bed were comfy.
