An enchanting Arabic jewel, Muscat was already an important port in the 1st century. With a strict building code that imposes respect to heights and styles, the city has developed a harmonized and traditional look that makes it irresistible. Don’t miss the traditional Muttrah Souq marketplace, considered one of the best in the region.
The city is actually composed of three towns: Muscat is the walled Old Town where royal palaces are located; Muttrah includes the old and new harbours and the Corniche seafront; and Ruwi is the commercial and diplomatic area. Check out the Muscat hotels map on Booking.com and choose your preferred location!
The city is surrounded by the Western Al Hajar Mountains, and the crystalline waters and sandy beaches of the Arabian Sea. Staying in a Muscat hotel on the beach is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Oman views.
The modern and elegant Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is one of the largest in the world. Don’t miss the twin forts of Al Jalali and Al Mirani, and the Qasr Al Alam Royal Palace.
Before departing to Muscat International Airport, check the deals for hotels, resorts, and B&B’s available on Booking.com!
Muscat is traditional city. You will get a vibe of peacefulness in terms of city, people, beach, malls, and historic places to visit. 3-4 days could be enough to cover the sports. With a visit to the modern side of the area named The Walk is also a nice touch. Please be aware getting taxi is a bit tricky. They have an app named OmanTaxi, if you try to get a cab from your hotel, only luxury option is available which is very expensive for normal travelers, but you can put your location on next building to open the economy options to ride for a fair price.

Muscat is a nice and beautiful city.
Muscat is a nice and beautiful city. Souq Matrah is a must to visit. You need a car to get around the city, so best option is to rent a car. However, the food is expensive and overpriced at restaurants in the beach resorts areas like Al-Moge area or near hotels like InterContinental hotel and resort area, etc.

A must visit. Great hospitality. Amazing people. Clean city.
A must visit. Great hospitality. Amazing people. Clean city. Variety of food options. Wonderful landscapes. Just avoid summer month (April - November). And public transport is not up to mark. Sultan Qaboos mosque is something you don't want to miss.

Muscat is a Jewel of Middle East but as an independent Solo traveler who enjoys walking and use public transports , I tend to struggle. The infrastructure is just not there comparing to Dubai where one has an option to use the Metro from A to B.
Oman is spread out even from Muttrah to City you need a Taxi. Walking from Ghubra which is only a distant away from Millenium Apt, you would struggle to find a continuous pavement to walk on. So come on Oman work towards Eco Friendly.
Nizwa is always my favourite place❤️
Try street food “mishkaki” bbq meat at Ghubra or Just pass AlMouj complex.
Avoid May, June July August (hottest season) unless you are travelling to Salalah which is cooler season.

Muscat is an amazing place to stay.
Muscat is an amazing place to stay. Very calm people very relaxing place.. Theres so much peace in there. I love the behaviour of the people itself. Even if you are in a public places you cant hear any loud noises. I am very impressed. Its very good for my mental health. Very friendly locals. I feel completely safe.
Really nice hotel, many cafes nearby, you can walk to the sea. Chic interior of the hotel's common areas. Very comfortable beds, large TV, luxurious bathroom. There is a rooftop pool where you can sunbathe and swim. Remember, however, that if you find yourself in Oman during Ramadan, your activities are limited. You can eat, drink, and smoke only from dusk to dawn. Although supermarkets are open. Breakfast is also available at the hotel. You won't get lost! Easy way to the airport.
I liked absolutely everything. The room was spacious and clean, and had all the necessary to relax. A good shower, space for luggage, a sofa to chill.
The mattress and pillows were really comfortable, good lighting as well. There is a SPA in the hotel, although I didn't have time to use it.
Breakfast in the morning was abundant and great quality, best breakfast of the trip. Close to airport. I hope to use Swiss chain again in the future.
We loved everything about this resort! Nice big room very good shower comfortable bed. Butter cookies in the room... every detail is perfect. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful surroundings a little pond just outside the hotel and kayaking is free. We also walked down the stream and swam during sunset it was very serene and beautiful.
Food is excellent too. We had a wonderful dinner probably the best bbq during the whole trip!
Excellent location, warm staff - very helpful and communicative. Oman's avenue mall is few steps away. Many restaurants, supermarkets around the hotel. Airport is 15-20 mins away.
Wide spread of breakfast, spacious rooms, comfortable bed with good mountain view. Perfect for our requirement to make our vacation a memorable one. Shall definitely come back.
The bed, the staff, and the atrium style of hotel floors inside was nice. We availed breakfast as well and the items were great tasting, though a bit pricey. Location is perfect and all must places to visit in Muscat are nearby, like Qurum beach, mutrah view point, bandar al rodah, al amerat hills, ghubrah beach, oman malls, and grand mosque, etc.
-Bait al bar restaurant and their amazing staff
-Beach
-extreemely helpful staff
-whatsapp chat, where you can find almost all the answers, book tours etc, very good!
-buffet and breakfast, and generally food were good
-beautiful birds flying around the tertitory
-very green territory in comparison to other hotels in Oman
I was upgraded to a bigger room
The staff was very helpful and very reactive to my requests
The breakfast was good and served in the bedroom (Huge plus)
The hotel is in the center of Mascate so close to everything, just a few minutes by car from the mall of Emirates
Very nice hotel. We stayed there two night, one when we arrived to Muscat and another one before leaving Oman.
It is a very nice hotel with super friendly stuff. For us the location was perfect, close enough to the airport and place we rented the car.
well located with a swimming pool perfect for arrival from the airport and touch base with Oman. the reception staff was very nice and upgraded us to a better room as we had to wait 15min to get our room.the hotel also has a nice heated swimming pool
Location is good though access was not comfortable, the price is still high but in comparison to other hotels in Muscat with similar level, the price is considered one of best. Staff were respectful and friendly, and feel happy to see Omani staff.
We spent 12 days in Oman as a family, traveling and staying in 6 hotels. This one was the best of all and the pool was on the roof! I highly recommend - 4☆ comfort!
Location was very nice near the centre of Muscat City. Room was spacious enough with advanced panels and appliances installed. Generally hotel was clean.
the hotel is very clean, the furniture is very new, the hotel is even better than some 5 star hotels, the staff are very friendly, location is excellent.
