The greatest triumph of city planning is the Turia River Park. Created on the bed of a redirected river, it provides much-needed shade in a city with an impressive sunshine record. Of course, you can always cool down on the fantastic beaches, lapped by warm Mediterranean waters.
Former hosts of the European Grand Prix, Valencians take their sport seriously and so they should. Try to take in a match at the 75,000-seater Valencia FC stadium to experience the electric atmosphere.
As Spain’s 3rd largest city, Valencia has wild nightlife, so if that’s your cup of tea, city center hostels are a great choice. Alternatively, Booking.com also has guesthouses, central apartments and even hotels near Valencia Airport.

The city was easy to navigate on foot and the architecture was beautiful. it is an extremely clean city with plenty to see and do. The cycle paths are wonderful and there are plenty of green open spaces. The Bioparc was a highlight and so were the modern museums and aquarium. Albufera is just a 40 minute bus ride away and well worth doing. We ate at fabulous restaurants during our week long stay in Valencia. Our favourite was Pelayo Gastro Trinquet and also La Calita both of which are easily found on Google. They were recommended by the hotel staff and were top notch. Value for money beer and sandwich establishment 100 Montaditos is great for lunch right on Placa de la Reina square where there are always plenty of entertainers. On the other side of the square is a fantastic tapas establishment - Taberna Vintara. My first Paella is a cookery school is where we spent 4 hours learning how to make the perfect Valencian paella. A visit to a local market was included and the whole experience was wonderful and definitely something to try if you love food. We hired bikes for one day and cycled from the Bioparc to the beach where we had lunch. There are no hills and well defined bike paths so it is safe and extremely enjoyable. So much to see strolling in the city centre. Fabulous buildings, central market, Silk exchange, cathedral etc. Botanical gardens well worth a visit as was the city of art and sciences for Calatrava's architecture. Huge variety of good places to eat. Loved Magrito vegetarian restaurant.

A city of contrasts. Wonderful gothic, historic buildings in the centre. Incredible modern architecture in the City of Arts & Sciences a short distance away. Food and drink plentiful and excellent. We took the tourist hop on bus which gave us an overview. Easy city to walk around. We ate locally to our apartment near the Central market in the evenings and had some fantastic food.

I’ve marked all wort to visit objects of València before arrival as the most tourist do. And skipped a lot of them. Let me explain. The most of catholic churches look the same everywhere, “plaza” is an empty space unless filled with people and action. I’ve walked around old town for half a day blended in to the crowd, observing, listening, getting sense of interactions, mood and building the sense of culture here. But, futuristic looking Science Center with IMAX Hemisphere and Ocean Center are unique to València. Inspiring architecture, live and interesting experiences there contributed to overall picture of València and its heritage. Please bear in mind that old riverbed with multiple parks and playa de la Malvarossa are another pieces not to be left out. I’ve stopped at Granier for a cup of coffee Cortado. Unfortunately, as a solo traveler I couldn’t get a seat at the famous paella house La Pepica. Maybe next time.MariusLithuania

Many restaurant and facilities are just at the corner of the hotel. Staff are super nice, helpful and available 24/7. Breakfast is minimal but okay. This hotel was one of the cheapest in the Valencia center for a solo traveler and it is good they offer "low cost" option. The pipe noise is something I expected from the previous comments so that was okay for me and did not disturb.
