Porto is a very atmosperic place with a lot of traditional buildings. The old town takes you to another era. The areas along the river are so vibrant and colorful. A lot of nice places to try amazing local wines!

Beautiful city. Geographically stunning.
Beautiful city. Geographically stunning. Historically interesting. A door to the Doro region which is dynamic and at times unreal. Porto and the Doro valleys are must see destinations. A bit of Europe that is overlooked. Don’t stop at lisbon, northern Portugal has a charm all of its own. Just remember your rain coat and walking boots

The public transport system of tickets is confusing and complicated. Lot's of construction in the old town. It's majestic itself, not too dangerous, not too expensive as for Europe. Rich nature is outside of the city in the regions.

Porto and satellite towns deserve attention.
Porto and satellite towns deserve attention. It is an ideal combination of views, history, food and drinks. Maybe not for young kids but for everyone else. I would come back, given that cost of flights, accommodation and restaurants stays where it is.

We loved Porto so much.
We loved Porto so much. We only stayed for 3 days, but loved everything we did. All the streets had so much charm with the cobblestone walkways. We crossed the river to do a tour of one of the port wine cellars and had such great food. The Mercado was one of our favorite spots - loved the vendors selling goods and foods, and the ability to eat and drink wine while we were there. We climbed the Tower (Torre dos Clérigos) for great views of the city. We also went to the bookstore (Livraria Lello) for photos of the beautiful staircase and ceiling. The only thing I should have researched more was how much uphill walking there would be. Most of the time it was fine, but a couple times it was very slow going.

Loved Porto, beautiful city. great local transport and very explorable on foot. Great food and friendly and hospitable locals. Catch local buses; they will take you anywhere cheaply. The tram along the riverside is fantastic too. Catch a train from here to Lisbon for city hopping cheaply.
I loved my room! It was like walking into a little oasis. I enjoyed the relaxing area with the sofa and TV with Netflix, the free mini-bar, and the great shutters on the windows that made my room quiet and dark for sleeping and all the special touches that made it like a little apartment away from home. It was all so much more than I expected and will make it my destination whenever I return to Porto. The staff also was super friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making my last days in Portugal and the Camino Portuguese so relaxing!
Modern, clean & comfortable. I booked last minute while I was staying in another part of Portugal & due to that got the last room. It was right next to reception as you entered the building from street level. Wasn't sure about it when first arrived but it was great as small hotel & nice & quite.
Location was great to walk to Douro river & there was also a metro station within a few minutes wall to beach or anywhere else in Porto.
Must add that the guy on reception was excellent.
I stayed here for 4 days at the start of my Portugal trip and loved it so much that I changed my bookings to stay here again when I came back to Porto at the end of my trip. The staff were all great people and organized several fun activities every day (sunset excursions, beach trips, beer gatdens, etc., and of course the nightly free dinners, drinking games, and bar crawl). Great atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and top-tier vibes. The best hostel experience I've had.
Highly recommended. 100 % unbelievable.
An amazing experience.
My children really loved it and it was super cool to them sleeping and living on a boat!
He had everything we needed with a very good high quality breakfast -
The host Osvaldo and his son, Thiago, were eager to help.
They made every single thing perfect.
We wish Osvaldo were our uncle in Portugal.
We would like to stay in sleep yatch hotel in the other places in our future.
This is a great hotel in a perfect location in Porto. It's part of a small chain of hotels called FLH (Feels Like Home) that we weren't familiar with but we'll be looking to use again next time we're in Portugal.
The room was on the large side for Europe and extremely well equipped. The morning breakfast buffet was sufficient and the fact that they'll cook you eggs on demand is a nice touch.
I would not hesitate to stay at the Memoria Porto hotel again.
The best hotel I have to in Portugal. The property is in an amazing location: very central, yet out of the touristic chaos. I could see the Dom Luis Bridge from my room! The breakfast is nice and the restaurant offers very nice food (and it's relatively well-priced, considering it's a hotel offer... But please, no more herbs in the Club Sandwich ;) ).
Would definitely recommend and if I go back to Porto, that's where I want to stay!
One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in while in Portugal!
A really well executed new hotel with beautiful details. The staff are all so welcoming, none more so than the bar and restaurant staff who seem to live and breath the hotel and its quirky ethos. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Porto. We didn’t have the breakfast but did have dinner and cocktails and both were amazing.
EVERYTHING!! hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life. As a solo female traveler I always felt safe! The room was perfect beyond my dreams. The staff was so friendly and nice and helped me with anything and everything. I would move in if they would let me! I will come back to Portugal just to have another chance to stay here. Obrigada!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Among the hotels we visited during our trip to Portugal, this one truly stood out as one of the best. The room was impeccably clean, and the staff was exceptionally kind. Notably, the bed in this hotel was extraordinarily comfortable. If we ever return to Porto, there's no doubt we'll choose this hotel again.
Me and my wife were visiting Portugal and Spain for our 25th anniversary. Porto was part of our itinerary. We stayed at Eurostar for 2 nights. This is a fantastic place. It has nicely renovated rooms, central location and very friendly and hospitable staff. They have spa included in the price of the room.
The Alma hotel is Wahoo!! The best hotel in Portugal!! Perfect location to visit Porto by walk. The studio is so beautiful, confortable and cosy. We feel like at home. The hotel is even more beautiful than in the pictures. Every detail is perfect and the staff is amazing. Especially Diogo! :-)
Just a huge room compared to our previous accommodations during our trip through Portugal. Very spacious bathroom, there's a fridge with a snack bar, and a kettle with a selection of tea and coffee provided by the hotel.
A very good European breakfast is in place.
Overall, a worthy hotel.
The staff was amazing - particularly Luis, Luisa, and Sam. They all went above and beyond to make our stay at Guest House Douro the best of our 2 week vacation in Portugal. And, you cannot beat the location!
Very good hotel, they give you the exact room you had booked and paid for. Unlike most of the hotel in Portugal and Spain, they try to degrade you room with no sense reason and charge you the same price.
Receptionist fantastic and in these covid times spent alot of time explaining the portugal rules, Staff always friendly, decent breakfast, nice hotel in a great location to the metro.
We stayed in four different hotels during our stay in Portugal. This was by far our favorite.
Modern, spacious and very conveniently located.
The breakfast was amazing
