This was our second stay on our 2 month trip. Shangri-la Bangkok is the gold standard. Exceptional in every way. Ate at Voti Italian restaurant 2 nights. Fabulous. A true first class restaurant. The concierge helped us a lot. He made me a dental appointment to get my teeth cleaned. Did the facial, ear candling, dentist, and haircut. Worked out in the gym a bunch. Excellent facility. Spent a bunch of time at the pool . Fabulous. Of course the staff is always excellent. We stay in the private Krupthep wing. That area is quiet and over the top beautiful. We have one more stay for 3 days middle of May before we go back to the boring USA. Thank you for everything.

Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Bangkok seems to have doubled in size since our last visit...
Bangkok seems to have doubled in size since our last visit when we passed through during the Millennium. It's a great City but it also doesn't feel anything like the rest of Thailand. This feeling was probably influenced by our visit coinciding with the the Songkran festival celebration which, while great fun, just felt like we could have been in lots of other cities as all of far East Asia descended on Bangkok for those days. If you're visiting as part of trip around other parts of Thailand, I would just recommend visiting here first & then going on to see some other places instead of finishing your visit here as we did. It would have been better for our final impression to be an amazing beach location, for example, instead of what is now a fairly generic sprawling city.

The land of mangoes, tuk-tuks and food deliciousness.
The land of mangoes, tuk-tuks and food deliciousness.
Bangkok is hectic. As soon as you land, you get the typical feeling of crowded SEA countries, and the place is a hybrid between some accessible, convenient technologies of bigger, developed cities, and the frantic movement of masses of developing ones, with the perks of everything feeling cheaper too.
Tips:
1. Get an eSIM before you arrive there, if possible, so you’re connected right away. Or else you can get one at the airport too.
2. Take MRT from the city to the airport (it’s quite cheap, clean and just a half hour away).
3. Take a tuk-tuk ride for fun, but beware they’ll try to rip you off every time. So unless you want to deal with that all the time, it’s best to get the “Grab” app (Uber in Thailand). Regular taxis work well too as they charge by the meter and feel safer.
4. An important piece of advice: hassle prices everywhere you go! Especially if you look like a foreigner (i.e. NOT Asian). My first tuk-tuk ride came down from 800 to 150! (THB), imagine!
BKK airport is quite nice - lots of shops, and places to eat and drink (of different categories). Many security entry points, so they’re not crowded, and one passes very quickly.
I have traveled a lot and dare to say that Thai cuisine is my favorite in the world. Coming to Bangkok and actually experiencing local, authentic Thai food was a dream come true, and it exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely come back to explore more of Thailand soon.

My visiting time was during summer. In the first week of May, the weather is very hot. Other than that, everything is nice. Chinatown is a must-visit place for food. Icon Siam, Asiatique also not to miss places in Bangkok. I like Bangkok. Will go again.

Thailand was absolutely the highlight of our experience.
Thailand was absolutely the highlight of our experience. Every single day was unforgettable. The elephant sanctuary in Krabi is something I relive every day and need to go back to someday!! Railay Beach is absolutely breathtaking. It was such a cool experience riding up on the longtail boat! The Phi Phi Islands live up their expectation. And Patong was so much fun. Bangkok was a great way to end it! Seriously, best trip ever!!!

Bangkok is a place that most travellers can never get tired...
Bangkok is a place that most travellers can never get tired of. It has everything - good food (street and upmarket), shopping, arts and culture and great boat trips on the Chao Phraya river and Phadung Krung Kasem and Saen Saep canals.
Everything is very clean and neat, the pool area looks wonderfull and the pool itself is relatively big. There is also a small gym right near the pool so you can go for a swim right after the workout. The location is nice, there is a metro station 7 min walk away and plenty of food/coffee places nearby. Also it`s very close to some attractions and the area itself is very authentic and interesting to explore. We`ve stayed in 3 hotels within similar price range during our time in Bangkok and this one was definitely my favourite.
Price/performance ratio can‘t be beat, especially in Bangkok. We were there for a medical appointment, and the hospital was 350 meters away. The apartment is just basic but livable. Fresh water and a clean room every day were a bonus. The man (I forgot his name) at the front desk was an absolute delight. Polite, friendly, and spoke perfect English. He recommended everything in the area to us, and even a delicious authentic Thai restaurant. The best part of this stay was that young man. The hotel is lucky to have him.
Such an amazing find! I understand why this place gets booked out so quickly. Beautiful staff that could not possibly be more helpful, even booked my coach/ferry to Koh Samui and booked an appointment at immigration office for me.
Location is perfect, AMAZING Thai restaurant only a few minutes walk away (Kao Tom Thewet) and although the hotel is close/easy access to everything it is also incredibly quiet and peaceful.
I would never chose to stay anywhere else in Bangkok now.
Excellent location about 5min walk to the Asok train station which connects you to the rest of Bangkok.
I also got the train to and from the Airport which took about an hour.
7/11 next the hotel and a large supermarket just down the road. The supermarket is 24/7 very convenient.
I ended up coming back to this hotel after travelling around North Thailand before getting my flight back to UK.
Staff were very helpful. Recommended.
This location is very close to Terminal 21, a huge mall and great resource to have nearby while traveling. Additionally, the Asok BTS station is at the same corner, and so is the Sukhumvit MRT station, within an easy walk, giving you access to the entire public transit system for Bangkok. Using this as a central location was the best, and the small boutique-ness of the hotels was nice compared to the giant hotel towers nearby.
Phenominal ambiance and entertainment with beautifully decorated rooms to match. Staff super helpful and efficient and made everything a pleause . Design and decor fantastic . Khun Yosh and his counterpart at the front dest were so kind . We will most definately visit again and am rather sad that we never swapped the high priced hotels on Sukumwit for Shanghai Mansion years ago . This is our new go to place in Bangkok !
This is the absolutely fantastic place in all of Bangkok for sure. i have been to bangkok three times now and i have stayed in quite a few hostels and hotels. You won't find a better place for this price. super clean, spacious rooms equipped with everything you need. the location of the place is perfect. great staff, always ready to help with anything. simply perfect place. I recommend 10000%
The suite has one of the largest living room in town. The decoration and ambience are beautiful and grand. The living room will give u 180 degrees view of Bangkok’s central business district, one of the rarest scene to get among most of the hotels in town. The location is close to Central World, Gaysorn Plaza and Paragon. Sky train station is within the walk range.
This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in...location is great, so clean, room was a dream, facilities were excellent, staff were so friendly & helpful always with a Thailand smile. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel.to anyone mentioning they are going to Bangkok...a great holliday made even better by the perfect hotel.
The hotel is nice, the room was clean, and the staff helpful, but a bit overpriced for what it offers (for this price we’ve seen other hotels go above and beyond in Thailand). Breakfast was good, but limited to a small amount and no choices (other places offered a buffet with a lot of options with fresh fruits, etc.)
proximity to airport rail link was less than 5min away. hotel is also located near Pratunam, the heart of shopping in Bangkok. Room was fully furnished with all the necessities, and very spacious, enough for packing of our big luggages and shopping. staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
It is a great cozy place - a true representative of good boutique hotel. Best toilets and comfy beds out of 3 hotels I used so far in Bangkok. They met our needs for early check in and check out without extra payment.
Great location if you need a place to stay near Don Mueang (DMK) airport.
Still one of my favorite hotels in Bangkok. The walk to the Ari or Saphan Kwai BTS station is not that far and more than worth it for the hotel being set back off the main road in one of Bangkok's most vibrant neighborhoods.
I love to try different hotels in Bangkok whenever I travel. But this was perfect enough, price value for money Kudos to the staff for their hospitality. I will come back for sure
Breakfast.
For a hotel with this type of room rate($60ish) the breakfast is far superior than other hotels in this price range. I’ve eaten at many of them throughout Thailand.
The breakfast was just standard quality compare to other hotels in Bangkok with same price range.
The location of hotel was good enough work around or use BTS train.
