Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!
One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."
The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store!
Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!
Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.
Seattle and the Puget Sound area are absolutely beautiful...
Seattle and the Puget Sound area are absolutely beautiful with many things to see and do. It’s fun to ride the ferry over to Bainbridge Island for some unique shopping and then go further West to the quaint Scandinavian city of Poulsbo for more interesting shopping and dining.
The only down side to the Seattle area is the traffic. Since routes are geographically limited, if the main arteries get clogged, you have to pack your patience and sit through the aggravating traffic snarls.

Seattle is a big and bustling city with good public transport and a beautiful boardwalk. I loved visiting MOPOP (the Museum of Popular Culture) and the Pike Street Market. The international district seemed pretty cool too, and there were a lot of gigs and shows that were on when I was there.
There seem to be a lot of parks and walks to do.
However there were some places where I didn't feel safe wandering alone, and the city is very dirty. It was also a little expensive, I found.

A great city to visit.
A great city to visit. Really easy to get around using rail, buses and plenty of walking.
Lots to see and do.
Just be careful walking around at night as with many cities a lot of homeless and drug crime on the streets. A lot of police and security present in the main areas which helps make you feel safe. Use taxis to get around at night, fairly cheap.
Would recommend to visit.

Those of us who live in my part of Canada are lucky to have easy access to, what most of us consider, one of the nicest, safest and most under rated cities in the USA.
There is so much to like about this city- most of all it's cleanliness, safety, sanity and the people.

The Seattle airport involves a LOT of walking.
The Seattle airport involves a LOT of walking. My plane arrived at 5 pm and the airport was pretty much deserted. I found the signage confusing, walked around and around trying to find the train to go into the city but just couldn’t find it and nobody seemed to know where it was, plus a friend who lives in Seattle advised me not to take that train as there had been several standings in the previous couple of weeks, so I then looked for the Uber pick up spot. Found it after walking around for about 30 minutes, again no clear signage and then proceeded to pay $76 U.S. to get to my downtown hotel. The next morning I was taking a train up to Vancouver and had to take a cab about 4 blocks. The driver had quoted me $20 for the short trip and I refused. Finally settled on $15 but when we reached the station and I gave him a $20 bill, he conveniently had no change. Not sure what the fare would have been if he’d turned the meter on but he said something was wrong with it. Easy cash right from me into his pocket.😡

We did a few of the tourist spots, specifically Pike Place Market and the Chihuly art gallery and garden, and both locations were easy to get to and very nice. The market is huge! We also visited the international district, and would recommend it to anyone who loves authentic asian cuisine. I would recommend you stay downhill of the freeway overpass; once we walked uphill past the overpass, the area got more rundown and seedy. We did not use the public transit but there was plenty available. The downtown area is pretty clean for a city, with a lot of food options. Our splurge dinner was at Sushi Kashiba, and if you're a sushi lover and have it in the budget to do the omakase experience, I would highly recommend it! Biscuit Bitch was an awesome breakfast spot and I would also recommend grabbing a sandwich from there! If you have the time, I would also recommend renting a car and leaving the city for either the Cascade Mountains or Olympic National Park; if you're not from the northwestern US the views and nature are stunning and unlike anywhere else.
My wife and I were on holiday in the US from the UK with a four-night stay in Seattle. Hotel Andra was easy to get to: we got the train into the city from the airport and it was only a short walk from the station to the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean, modern and stylish. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is also a reasonable walking distance from things we wanted to do in the city. On a side note, we highly recommend the day trip to Mt Rainier. We would definitely stay at Hotel Andra again.
The room was much more spacious than expected and it was a bonus that we could see the Space Needle. The room and facilities were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Room Service is at request only, which I personally prefer.
The location downtown is within 10-15 min walking distance to the waterfront, Pike Market and many other places (Space Needle 30 min) so there is no need for PT if you are willing/able to walk a little and are not venturing further out.
Great location for the Climate Pledge Arena, an easy 10 minute stroll across the Seattle Center. The Uber pick up zone post-event is close to the hotel, so there were quite a few people walking in the same direction afterwards, making this is a good choice if you're not sure about travelling home alone after a late finish. Bus stops nearby to get downtown, or it's an easy 20-25 minute walk.
Location excellent for exploring downtown and Seattle Centre.. Some restaurants, cafes and grocery stores nearby.
The hotel gives bottled water, coffee and tea which is great.
During our first stay there was a lot of constant noise outside the room from early morning.
During our second stay it was quiet.
The room was good and bed super comfortable for a good night's sleep
The hotel was in a great location right off the freeway, but not so close the freeway sounds were easily audible. The hotel was beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you'd want. The staff were all wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Good food in the restaurant and a nice bar too. Most of downtown Seattle is within easy walking distance.
The Mayflower is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle with easy walking to Pikes Place Market and many restaurants. The monorail station is 1 block away for easy access to the Space Needle and surrounding attractions. Oliver’s Lounge is great for a pre and post dinner drink with the restaurant convenient for breakfast.
Best value for money hotel in Seattle. Very clean room, comfortable bed, coffee machine, and AC a plus on hot summer days. You can easily travel to/from downtown Seattle in 20 minutes on the 21 bus or red rapid line. Nice neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. Can do a nice walk (2 miles) to Lincoln Park or Alki Point.
Great location in downtown. Convenient parking (high rate, but the same as most downtown hotels). We had a great view from our room on a high floor. The room was new and modern. Super clean. Functional. Spacious room which was good for our six night stay. The best bed and shower on out trip with seven different hotel stays.
Close to everything! We walked everywhere. The hotel is clean and the staff are great. The location is excellent and between downtown and the Seattle Center/ Space Needle. It suits our needs and we will continue to stay at the property even with the friendly neighbors.
Fantastic hotel at a great location in downtown Seattle.
Breakfast had multiple option to choose from, all of which are in room dining only.
Ruth Chris and Starbucks inside the hotel.
A very nice individual hotel concept.
The location is in the middle between downtown and the needle. We discovered Seattle by feet.
The hotel offers parking places behind the hotel.
We loved this boutique hotel in a great location of downtown. The atmosphere was lovely, the restaurant and bar were enjoyable, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Perfect location for downtown Seattle, the Convention Centre and "link" train service to the airport
Large bed and very confy, large room.
Clean room on arrival
Great value compared to most of the other hotels downtown Seattle. Surprisingly quiet for it's location. Nothing flashy but you get everything you need.
