FAQs about hotels in Berlin

A Symbol of Modern Europe

Home to the iconic Brandenburg Gate and the famous Fernsehturm at Alexanderplatz, Berlin is a renowned global city of culture, commerce and politics. Its eclectic architecture is visual and exciting proof of its fascinating history.

In "Mitte", the city’s historical center, you can find the famous Museum Island with the exquisite Pergamon Museum, as well as popular cafés, restaurants and clubs. The nearby Potsdamer Platz, once divided in two by the Berlin Wall, features great examples of ultramodern architecture and stunning night illumination.

Berlin is the best place to try the famous Currywurst or jelly doughnuts, the Pfannkuchen. Explore the city’s busy nightlife, famous festivals and parades, or simply walk through charming neighborhoods like Prenzlauer Berg. Berlin is always full of things to do and see!

Combining a vibrant culture and art scene, sites of historic interest like the Reichstag, and great shopping opportunities, the German capital truly is a symbol of a modern and unified Europe.

Traveling to the city center from Tegel International and Schönefeld Airports is a piece of cake using the S-Bahn, Berlin’s reliable public transit system. Whether you are looking for a cheap hostel, alternative apartment or a chic hotel, Booking.com has a perfect room for your trip to Berlin.

    I absolutely LOVE Berlin!

I absolutely LOVE Berlin! It's one of my favourite cities in the world and I would live there full time if I could. The atmosphere is unique, the people are friendly, the varitety and quality of restaurants is amazing and the beer is delicious! My recommendations: - Museum island (Pergamon & Neues are my favourite) & going up to the top of the Berliner Dom - Visiting the Reichstag Building (the views are incredible) - Wandering along the Spree - Nikolaiviertel neighborhood - BRLO Brwhouse restaurant (a bit out of the center but so worth the trip) - Hallesches Haus for breakfast / Brunch - Any beergarten in the summer - Picnics in the parks during the summer - Eating a kebab or shawarma in Kreuzberg

    Fantastic city for food.

Fantastic city for food. Being vegetarian/vegan isn't an issue here as almost all restaurants have alternative options and a staggering amount are fully vegan. * Do a walking tour! (I'd recommend the Welcome to Berlin tour from Walkative!) There is a lot of history to the city that isn't apparent at first view and you'll benefit from someone passionate about the subject. * Do make sure you have both cash and card on hand as every business (almost arbitrarily) will either be cash-only or card-only. Just make sure that you find a bank to withdraw from as the Euronet ATMs littered around are traps with flat €3.95 fees. * Get a 24-hour transport ticket from any transport link or a Berlin Welcome Card. The public transport is incredible and the same tickets work on buses, trams, the underground and trains so make use of them! Activities: Go to Gardens of the World (Gärten der Welt) and buy the combo ticket with the cable car included. Tour the gardens as long as you like, take the cable car to the far side of Kienberg Park and then hike your way up the gentle winding slopes of the Kienburg. The views are great up and the observation tower at the top is almost certainly the best view in all of Berlin. If you manage to get there before dusk you can still use the cable car to return to the entrance and get back to the city for dinner. Food: Go to Night Kitchen with a group for a curated several-course meal and a friendly host. Go to Curry und Chilli for vegan currywurst (cash only) Go to Secret Garden for a sublime fully vegan sushi/Japanese meal (cash/German card only)

Berlin is fabulous and I can see the reason why, it is Germany's capital city. A real proud city and people. The main attractions are easy to see via Tram, scooter, bicycle and walking. Park the car and walk or Tramride. Food was lovely and we enjoyed the Currywurst alot. The Big Bus Tour is worth the money as well as a Boat Trip along the Spree. I wish we could spend more time at Humboldt Forum but next trime. The Blue Line, Humboldt Forum the Dome. A 4 Day trip is just the right amount of time, to get introduced to a great city with so much history and modernity.

    A must see city.

A must see city. Lacking in majestic, medieval, grand architecture but dead interesting nevertheless. The 'free' Socialist/Communist walking tour with Will was frankly the best we've done (and it poured with rain!). Both the dome in the Reichstag (+ amazing breakfast) and the TV Tower in the main square were brilliant. The exhibition at Checkpoint Charlie, and the Jewish Memorial were very moving. Berlin's past and diverse present engaged at every level - really glad we visited! You can walk pretty much everywhere but the trams and metro were great.

I loved how spacious and well-organised the rooms were. The full-height windows give lots of light to the inside and are easy to cover if one needs that. The area of Dahlem, where the hotel is located, is also charming and green, placed in the vicinity of the Freie Universität Berling (but those who wish to commute to the city centre should know this is quite a distance from Dahlem to Mitte; the U-Bahn connection is very convenient though). I enjoyed the breakfasts, which offered a variety of food and slightly changed each day.

As in all hotels now breakfast is too expensive, I used a little cafe on the corner. Shame some leisure facilities were closed due to Covid. Getting around was easy trams buses stop outside the hotel. Berlin Hbf station walkable or tram, where you can get to anywhere in Germany. Also purchase the 9euro travel ticket app, it’s available through the summer months, travel all over Germany with this ticket. Front bedrooms a little noisy with trams etc, but a/c was good & the windows kept the room quiet. But it was a great spot.

I’ve stayed here on about 4 occasions, it always clean and tidy, it’s in a very good location with regard to public transport. it is a good budget hotel no frills but that’s not what I want. I didn’t enjoy my stay on this occasion primarily because of the covid restrictions currently in place in Germany, probably came back too soon. I do appreciate that the circumstances are beyond the control of the hotel and when I return to Berlin I will always consider the H2 because it’s pretty good and I like it

Out of 6 different budget hotels that we slept in during our trip in Germany, this one had overall the least compromises. The room wasn't the most spacious, it was just big enough to not feel squished, the interior was better than good enough, everything was clean, comfortable enough beds, shampoo and soap in the bathroom, half decent wifi, also there was also a nice lobby on the 1st floor. Although nothing spectacular, but for 65€ a night (2 people) I find this is a pretty good value.

Wow! Best hotel we could have asked for. The lobby was huge and great for large groups to meet to plan the day. The restaurants inside were amazing. The rooms were extravagantly beautiful (showers amazing) and the amenities like bar, spa, gym, and gift shop were the best. It was right outside the Naturkundmuseum subway entrance for the U6 so it was very convenient to get anywhere in town including back to the airport taking a few trains. The Berlin Wall Memorial was a few blocks walk.

The room was spacious and very clean, the towels nice and fluffy, staff was pleasant. The hotel is quite far out from Berlin city centre but there's a tram stop literally in front of the hotel and a metro stop 15 mins walk which is not too bad. Haven't had breakfast so can't comment on that, but had coffee from the hotel restaurant and that was nice. Our stay would have been perfect if it wasn't for the noise issue which I've explained below.

Great location, just 2 minutes from Berlin Hauptbahnhof. The room was average size and good for a short stay. The Best feature of the hotel is the guest kitchen where we cooked our breakfast and meals. It also has a washer and dryer for your laundry requirements. Retro game machines and coffee makers were a steal. I would recommend this property for tourists, students and backpackers.

Considering it is a 3-star hotel (which in Germany still presents a very good standard unlike in many other countries), the value for money is very good. The hotel is clean although it is old, the staff are professional and helpful, and the location is excellent. The breakfast offered everything you need - all the staples - and for just under a week's stay, sufficed completely.

first we stayed in north Mitte. this was close to the arts district of West Berlin so very interesting for modern architecture. Hotel had great style and next to an excellent restaurant—Israeli to the north.

The location of the hotel is the best location in Berlin. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Gym is equipped with quality treadmills and was very clean.
