2nd Commercialising Solar Power conference

  • 26-27 Jul 2010
  • Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, Australia

Description

The 2nd Commercialising Solar Power Conference will advance the discussion generated from the previous meeting. It will offer delegates with important updates on research projects, investment opportunities, funding and government policy and grants. Featuring project updates and case studies, delegates will get the latest insights on successes and challenges from a range of state, national and international solar projects.

Solar power is viewed as the most socially accepted zero-generation technology, yet adoption rates in Australia are low. Internationally solar power is enjoying growing penetration rates and almost hero status in many countries. Australia is possibly the continent with the greatest potential for solar generation.

Australia, with high annual sunshine and high peak daytime temperatures in much of the country, is possibly the continent with the greatest potential for solar generation.

Australia leads the world in solar research. Key research and technologies developed in Australia have been adopted by internationally renowned companies with little benefit to Australia. However, a lack of funding has meant that many projects have struggled to raise capital.
