3rd Annual SASKATCHEWAN OIL and GAS FORUM 2011

  • 08-09 Mar 2011
  • Ramada Inn and Convention Centre, Regina, Canada

Description

The Saskatchewan energy sector experienced a year of growth in 2010, with land sales and drilling rebounding after a slow year in 2009. On the horizon, 2011 looks even more promising for the Province s oil and gas industry, with some predicting Saskatchewan s economic growth will lead the country.

With this witnessed and forecasted growth come opportunities and potential challenges for regulators, resource companies and industry. The resource opportunities are abundant. Requirements for exploration and development of these resources continue to evolve, with expectations that 2011 will see further development of the Province s offsets program and its streamlining initiative for oil and gas production reporting. Further developments are expected respecting the Government s standards for environmental assessment and protection, including the proclamation of the Environmental Management and Protection Act, 2010 and the Environmental Code.

Insight Information has organized a comprehensive two-day event and assembled a select group of industry leaders and experts to present their views, experience and strategies on the current state and future of the Saskatchewan energy sector and to highlight what companies should know in order to participate and succeed in the current environment. Participants will hear from companies currently involved in exploring for, developing and transporting Saskatchewan s vast reserves and will hear about the development potentials that exist with existing and new technologies. Speakers will discuss regulatory challenges, recent Legislative developments and the implications for industry, and the streamlining initiative of Saskatchewan Energy and Resources for the reporting of oil and gas production in the Province. The Forum will provide perspectives on building Aboriginal partnership companies, and also discuss occupational health and safety matters, Saskatchewan s new GHG offset program, and carbon capture and storage initiatives, and will highlight developments from the National Energy Board Land Matters Consultation Initiative.

Conference attendees will be given the opportunity to address their questions to the faculty during sessions and informally during breaks and lunches. Binders with conference materials submitted by the speakers will be a valuable addition to your business information resources.
