Description

This seminar takes the reform undergoing in France as a starting point to discuss the future of gaming and in particular of betting online. The French reform, aimed at creating a competitive market for betting online from nothing, could represent a point of reference for other European as well as non European countries willing to follow a similar path. After a brief overview on the gaming and betting sector from a business perspective, stressing the relevance of this industry in most western countries, and a general analysis of the regulations in Europe and the US, a roundtable will follow involving lawyers from several jurisdictions which will highlight how the different approaches adopted may have given an advance or a time lag vis- -vis the other countries. The Seminar is organized by AIJA, the International Young Lawyers Association, which was founded 48 years ago and organizes over 20 seminars a year - in addition to an yearly congress and half year congresses - and which has appromately 3000 active members, reaching over 80,000 lawyers in more than 80 countries.
