Description

It is becoming common feeling that it is now the time to push hearing screening for adults and elderly. Findings from the scientific literature indicate that screening and early treatment of hearing loss (HL) have the potential to significantly improve the quality of life and extend the functional status of adult population.
This international conference is designed to provide state-of-the-art scientific and clinical information on this rapidly changing landscape. This conference will be the first international meeting entirely focused on a comprehensive spectrum of issues and disciplines related to early identification and treatment of auditory dysfunctions in adults and elderly.
The conference will include keynote addresses by top-notch scientists and clinicians as well as platform and poster presentations by colleagues from throughout the world.
Another aim of this event is also to establish a truly international forum networking scientists, clinical researchers and technicians in the area of early intervention of adult.
Screening technologies and protocols, assessment strategies, and intervention techniques will be discussed. This conference shall bring together specialists in audiology, otolaryngology, hearing sciences, communication disorders, biomedical engineering, psychology, genetics, neurology, gerontology, health care administration, epidemiology and other related areas.

This initiative is partially supported and organised by AHEAD III "Assessment of Hearing in the Elderly: Aging and Degeneration - Integration through Immediate Intervention", a project funded by the European Commission Research Programme.
