1st Annual Dual Energy CT Symposium 2010

  • 09-10 Oct 2010
  • NYU Langone Medical Center, New York City, NY, United States

Description

Dual Energy CT (DECT) acquisition provides the radiologist with an expanded set of diagnostic capabilities that can revolutionize CT imaging. DECT provides improved lesion detection, chemical analysis of normal and pathologic tissue, and chemical mapping of anatomic regions. DECT potentially will allow significant patient dose reduction by eliminating pre-contrast scanning.

This 1 1/2 day program is designed for radiologists who currently have or are considering acquiring a CT scanner with DE capability, research scientists who are looking to understand current clinical of DECT to stimulate development of translational research projects and technologists who need a basis in DE terminology and concepts.  This symposium will bring together clinical physics experts who are currently using both dual and single source technology.  Attendees will benefit from learning how different approaches to DE can be used to benefit patient care in all areas of the body. Emphasis will be placed on workflow, integration of DE software into clinical image evaluation, as well as highlighting "established" indications and where research is heading.
