Description

In this comprehensive course, experts will help provide evidence-based solutions for many of the current concerns that exist pertinent to ACL injury and surgery. Participants will be brought up to date on ACL prevention. New surgical concepts including the role of double bundle ACL reconstruction and All-inside techniques will be discussed. Guidelines for successfully treating the pediatric patient with ACL injury will also be discussed. Finally, a wet-lab component will be offered to allow attendees to apply concepts and techniques discussed during the lectures.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Discuss the role of different functional bundles of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)
  • Identify the basic components of a successful ACL prevention program
  • Recognize the different advantages and drawbacks for each of the standard ACL graft choices
  • Determine the best method for ACL reconstruction in the immature athlete

athletic trainers and other health professionals with an interest in sports medicine.
