8th International Symposium of High Temperature Air Combustion and Gasification 2010 Poznan, Poland

  • 05-07 Jul 2010
  • Conference Center of Poznan University of Technology, Poland

Description

In order to promote international cooperation and information exchange related to high temperature air combustion and gasification, the 1st International Symposium on High Temperature Air Combustion and Gasification was organized by Professor Kunio Yoshikawa of Tokyo Institute of Technology under the sponsorship of Japan Science and Technology Corporation (JST) at Yokohama - Japan in January 1998. Then the next one was held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in January 1999 hosted by ITRI (Taiwan); the third was held in Yokohama, Japan in March 2000 hosted by JST; and the fourth in Rome, Italy in November 2001 hosted by ENEA (Italy); the fifth symposium was held in Yokohama, Japan in October 2002 hosted by JST, the sixth in Essen, Germany in October 2005 hosted by Gasw rme-Institut e.V. Essen. The most recent one seventh symposium was organized by Prof. Somrat Kerdsuwan of King Mongkut s Institute of Technology, North Bangkok in January 2008.
As a continuation of the highly successful symposiums so far, the 8th International Symposium on High Temperature Air Combustion and Gasification will be held in Poznan, Poland, on July 5 7, 2010. This international symposium will provide a forum for the exchange of information on the latest developments in high temperature air combustion and gasification technology worldwide. More specifically, it will be of utmost interest to combustion scientists and engineers, fuel technologists, environmental engineers and all those engaged in the design and development of power equipment and to potential users of high temperature air combustion and gasification technology. The focus of this international symposium will be to provide information on latest developments and commercial application of the technology.
The organizers hope that the need to overcome the current global crisis, closely linked with a more effective use of primary energy fuels, will become a strong stimulus for an active participation in the exchange of technology improvement expertise as well as in the training of young engineers. Topics related to the reduction of emission of greenhouse gases through increased fuel efficiency and limiting energy consumption are high on the Symposium`s agenda.
